A woman who once made it her goal in life to marry and rear a family finds her priorities suddenly shifting in Ryan Murphy and Jennifer Salt's adaptation of author Elizabeth Gilbert's best-selling memoir. In the eyes of many, Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) was a woman who had it all -- a loving husband, a great career, and a weekend home -- but sometimes one realizes too little too late that they haven't gotten what they truly wanted from life. He told me that he needs to go find himself, that it's best if I go for now. He doesn't know who he is, and me being around doesn't help that. It hurts so much to be the one left behind. He tells me that he will come back, but I won't count on it. I am sending him love and light, and I am sending some to myself to help me heal this painful, deep wound in my heart. Everything feels bittersweet. I miss him but I know now is not the time for us. I can only pray that one day, that day will come. If it doesn't, I know I'll be okay.

= This is one of my favorites scenes. It was like him talking to me when i first saw this. thats when i said what is the movie called. I had stumbled across it on my tv one day. LOVE THIS MOVIE so much that I purchased the DVD.
I went to see this movie with my oldest sister (I have two older sisters), before she moved down to Texas, so it has a special meaning to me.
I loved this guy so much! taught me so much about life in a few minutes

I thought I loved him, ugh...
I didnt. i tried to love him but he never let me in and his ego set him off since he is so insecure. i was with him for 11 years. 2 kids later. i realised we arent meant to be and i cant be his doormat. It hurt when i told him, " id be disrespecting me if i stay with. you." he looked at me with a slight smug on his face for he was going back to his gf. I left. Done. Better than ever. was a roller coaster but an empty one with no excitement just tears, unsafety and fear. thank God.

Given his past that you find out about later, this is a classic mentality from someone who is broken. Pretending to be fulfilled and positive and knowledgeable and insightful and "fixed", when in reality they're a mess inside.

Nor do I buy the "It's all in your brain!" tripe. That's the late '90s equivalent to "You can do this!" A movie loses a full letter grade for that. There are better scripts by starving script writers out there, people!
