I like the subtly of her dealing with the aftermath of this. The fact she thinks of places she's been with her parents when she needs to get them to safe places, like Trafalgar Square and that white forest place (sorry, I can't remember the name). The fact that she comes back to memories with her parents is really sweet and sad, and no one even stops to put a hand on her shoulder and be like 'Hey, it's gonna be okay. You'll see your folks again'.
ToonsOff Fun I love how you had to say that for such a specific scene. These movies are fantastic, but the source material is some of the finest pieces of literature in modern times... And that isn't exaggeration.
As JK was still writing the final books when the first movies were coming out I always wondered if she, offended that they were cutting Dobby from the movies, killed Dobby off in this way, knowing that the emotional punch for the movies would be lacking (because they cut him out of most of them) and so book fans would become cheerleaders for why he should have been included more. But seriously, Dobby's death hit harder for me than Dumbledore's, as I read them later in life and already knew that Dumbledore died. Dobby's death was a gasp-inducing surprise when I got to that part of the book!
Eh. Not so much. Sure, Dobby had a bigger role in the books, but I thought his character was annoying in Chamber of Secrets. Sort of... the Jar Jar Binks of the Harry Potter world.
The middle part dragged out for so long and Ron was an annoying git, sequences were choppy, they literally stretched the shortest part of the book to some long trek like what the Hobbit movies did, need I say more?
The thing is, that part of the story needs to be stretched because there is no way the book could have fit into one movie. Let's focus on Deathly Hallows part 2. I don't think that final part of the book could be shortened. The infiltration into Gringots, the battle of Hogwarts...that part needs building up and needs depth, so I can't see how it could have been made shorter (in fact, I would argue it would have need another 15 minutes to include some vital explaining they left out about the resolution of Harry vs Voldemort battle and Snape's memories). But the first part of the story needs to be that slow and "long" too. The search for the Horrocruxes is an almost impossible task. They don't know half of what they are looking for or where to look and, just like that part of the book was meant to depict the desperation and helplessness of the trio, the movie needed to do the same. By making that part shorter or leaving it to the minimum, the story would have given the impression that finding the Horrocruxes wasn't such a big deal. Most of the epiphanies that Harry and his friends have that lead us on the right path to find them would have felt too coincidental and rushed, while including them in a long period of time makes it feel more plausible. Yes, it does have some choppy sequences and explanations, but that's a problem that almost every HP film suffers from, mainly because they don't treat the story as faithfully or as consistently as they should have. And lastly, I don't agree that they stretched the shortest part of the book. On the contrary, it is the longest part. In fact, when they are taken to Malfoy's manor on the book, there is less than one third of the book left (I should know, I finished re-reading it a couple of weeks ago), so I think it is logical to understand why that part of the story takes so much time in both the book and the movie. So, if Deathly Hallows part 2 can't be shortened (as I said, I would have included at least another 10 - 15 minutes) and it happens the same to part 1, there's no way out than splitting the book like they did or make a 4:30 hours movie. I agree that part 1 could have been shortened a bit, but not more than 10 minutes tops, and that's not enough to reject the decission that they made to turn the book into 2 movies. Sorry for the long post. XD
I think it's tragically underrated. The cinematography and acting are just incredible imo. The trio really proves that they can hold a movie on their own
I really don't understand when people say that this is one of the worst if not the worst HP film. It's honestly one of my favorites. I get that it doesn't have as much action as the others but this one really focused on the characters and I really love it.
They just hate it because it's not in Hogwarts anymore lol. That's why I love this film a lot. You actually feel the worldwide threat Voldemort has spread
Alyssa Corrigan my personal problem was that it didn't feel like a Harry Potter film... Just like how "On Stranger Tides" didn't feel like pirates movie. However I've heard that way too much about the new movie... But fantastic beasts isn't a Harry Potter movie, it's a spinoff... If it captures the feel, that's all it has to do.
Mine MLG If you read the book Deathly Hallows you'd know that it's nothing like the previous books too.. and it isn't supposed to be! lol this isn't school anymore, it's war
If taken with Part II as one, complete film (which it should be, since it was adapted from *one* book), Deathly Hallows is easily the best film in the entire series. It's only real competition is Prisoner of Azkaban, but I think this one is slightly better. The characters are the richest, the action scenes are the most exciting, the emotional payoff is the best (obviously), the visual effects are the most real, the script is the most interesting and deepest...it's all nearly perfect. 4 3/4 stars (out of 5), for *Parts I and II*
Alyssa Corrigan I personally believe DH Part 1 is the weakest in the series, but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. In my opinion, all of the Harry Potter movies are awesome movies. You mentioned the lack of action. That is my biggest gripe with the movie but I still love it
I love the Harry and Hermione dancing scene. As I was watching it I couldn’t help but feel nowhere close to happy. The surrounding scenario just made it seem like fake happiness, but that’s what’s so great. They really sold the dire nature of the entire world, where even when the characters weren’t expressing fear or unease, I was feeling it
because the movie don't have some action? Part 1 is the most emotional. A lot of character development, etc. the cinematography is top notch. Way better than the past films
I honestly thought Part 1 was one of the best of the series with it being more concerned about the drama than the action. There was a perfect pace and an intelligent script that wisely focused more on the emotional weariness of its characters, which surprisingly didn't seem to please everybody. And though it was fairly intense throughout it all, I thought the humor was perfectly added in. But there was some really great scenes in this one, and I thought the soundtrack was great - such a perfect mix between silence and music! It's really more of a magic thriller. lol
x6x batman on paper it sounds like it was such an unnecessary add-on... But the way they portrayed him throughout the films have such a sense of irony that I felt horrible for disliking him. What I mean is how we always thought terribly of him. In the first one, it was hinted he was trying to get the stone, when he wasn't. He was a death eater, but all he did was provide info to dumbledore. He killed dumbledore but on orders. If anything his story was extremely tragic... His true love (whom he had lived since childhood but never gave him the same affection) dead, the bullying he went through from Harry's father, the secret he kept all those years of Lily's patronus, etc.
Two weeks ago I bought the entire series on blu ray and had myself a little marathon. Goddamn these movies are great! Looking forward to Fantastic Beasts.
I have my Harry Potter Marathon every year in November, just after V for Vendetta on November 5th. Haven't started this time around, but will to be ready for Fantastic Beasts in A WEEK & A HALF! A WEEK & A HALF!!!
This is one of the best films ever and one my favorite Potter films. The relatio ships are so nuanced, the dialogue scenes are incredible. Even dramatic moments in the novel that are replaced with cinematic DIALOGUE, which rarely works well, but in this film it’s immensely successful.
I Adore Deathly Hallows Part 1 tremendously! The BEST Part 1 of any film adaptation split into 2 parts (no contest to that lol). And even though this is the most different than any of the others, it's my 2nd fav HP film because of that! You really feel the devastation that Voldemort has caused throughout the world and this is the FIRST Harry Potter film where you feel like the villain is actually winning. I feel like this is the first HP film to not feel restricted within the walls of Hogwarts , so this feels like a real road movie/fantasy film with vibes of LOTR. And the cliffhanger was perfect to me.. They actually planned to end Part 1 right before Harry, Ron, and Hermione were taken to Malfoy Manor.. glad they didn't do that!
I really appreciate that she did this, it is a war after all and there should be a lot of causalities even if she killed my favorite character Lupin :'''I
The scene showing the story of the three brothers was exposition but it was a wonderfully creative way to explain it, as opposed to just having one of them read it out loud and nothing else.
He's been dead for like 2 weeks so you better catch up. There is no spoiler that stef12121999 could give that you wouldn't have gotten from all the media, in fact AMC themselves though I think they learnt since last time.
Deathly Hallows Part I is the absolute best of the saga. Artfully directed, wonderfully performed... the animated sequence of the Legend of the Deathly Hallows alone is reason enough to give this an A. I love Sorcerer's Stone, I love Deathly Hallows Part II, but Part I is in a class all its own.
Dobby's death in the movie was much better handled than it was in the book. In the book, it felt rushed, but the movie takes it time and allows the death sequence to sink in for us. Even Dobby's final words brought tears to my eyes.
I think you forgot about the part where Ron explains where he's been and how he returned. It's actually my favorite part of the movie. Very well acted.
It's so great doing a marathon of a series you haven't watched in a long time, and watching Chris Stuckmann's and Jeremy Jahns' reviews after each movie!
+stephanosapoel13 *movies were. It's kind of lame though if he's going to give a spoiler alert warning for the first two film reviews in the series and then suddenly not give any more as he continues. Anyone who might not have seen the films could find out stuff they're not ready to know yet.
This is one of my favourites of the series, tied with the fifth instalment. It's somber, it's quiet, and that's usually completely unorthodox for a big summer movie (compared to it's sequel). It's really character-based. I heard Korey Coleman once describe it as "A blockbuster movie that is never cheapened by typical blockbuster things."
Chris i don't know if you're gonna read this but watching your reviews has taught me so much about the finer details of films and how to be critical of films and what stuff to consider when making my own films, something I enjoy thoroughly. Thank you
I think one of the most underrated scenes in Harry Potter is the chase between Yaxley and the gang through the ministry. It is just so incredibly tense and I love everything about it.
My list! just because! 8. Half blood prince: B 7. Sorcerer stone: B 6. Chamber of secrets: B+ 5. Goblet of fire: A- 4. Deathly hollows part 2 (what?): A 3. Prisoner of Azkaban: A 2. Deathlly hollows part 1: A 1. order of the phenix: A+
mat sh I would've ranked them in an entirely different way since Half Blood Prince is one of my all time favorite HP movies and Chamber of Secret would've been in the bottom, but that's just my opinion :)
8. Chamber of Secrets (B) 7. Goblet of Fire (B+) 6. Half-blood Prince (B+) 5. Deathly Hallows pt2 (A-) 4. Sorcerers Stone (A-) 3. Order of the Phoenix (A) 2. Deathly Hallows pt1 (A) 1. Prisoner of Azkaban (A+)
Chris reason why we hate the dance scene is because the deleted scenes truly does have closure with the dursleys. You understand why aunt petunia hates him but loves him and was just jealous. Dudley said sorry to harry. But instead we got an awkward ass dance scene
It's called pacing. The goodbye scene would have greatly upset the pacing at the start of the film as it was told through montage. The dance scene occurs when the film has slowed down quite a bit and can focus on individual characters.
Angus Maxim it's called reshooting. A movie at this caliber had the opportunity to change things up to include that scene. That was a sub plot that played throughout the franchise... This was the final time we saw them. All we got was a glimpse of them leaving in a car. To have these characters (arguably) "wasted" was a shame to make space for a scene that added nothing to the plot of the film. An argument could be that it was the final "happy" moment, but I think it would've been more impactful if that was the wedding... Which then got ruined by death eaters.
Great for the book but really it wasn't required for the films. The Dursley's story arc seemed to have come to its end in the third film with Harry finally overcoming them. They had no impact since then, let alone an appearance besides the fifth film where they just played a parody of themselves.
Great review, Chris! Like previous users have mentioned, Deathly Hallows Part 1 seems to be the most underrated film of the series. While it's definitely not my favorite (Prisoner of Azkaban, with a close second being Deathly Hallows Part 2), there're definitely some great moments in this film, especially the Tale of the Three Brothers. Also, when I first took the Pottermore quiz years ago, I got Hufflepuff. After taking the updated one a few months ago, I was sorted into Gryffindor. Though I REALLY wanted to be sorted into Ravenclaw :(
Thank you for addressing the splitting movies into parts! I really appreciated it. I give props to the actors imitating the golden trio infiltrating the Ministry. I just took the quiz on Pottermore and I'm a Ravenclaw! :D
I think Snape killed Hedwig. Snape was the only one who knew there would be 7 Harry's. I think he saw Hedwig and knew that was the real Harry. So he killed Hedwig to protect Harry.
when i was reading the book back then, my power was out and i had candles lit all around my house. the voldemort council scene and snape visiting malfoy’s mother was eerie as hell and ingrained in my mind since then.
This film is the only one in the entire series not to feature the titular characters in Hogwarts, and that changes the setting and feel of the film... to many, it doesn't feel like a Harry Potter movie... But I think they accomplished a great deal with the way they told the story, especially certain scenes like the tale of the three brothers with stop-motion animation... like Half-Blood prince, it has more adult themes, and our trio are not just kids going to school, and thats emphasised with the locations they are put in, all of which are shot with beautiful cinematography... There's something similar to this film with Prisoner of Azkaban, which is the only film in the series not to actually feature Voldemort, and that changed the tone of the film quite a bit, not to mention a starkly different directorial style which I loved... these two films are remarkably different from their predecessors, and I love them for that...
Jackson DeStefano Your opinion like, but nope. Azkaban is a great film, but the most overrated in the series. Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Part 2 are the best in the series. They are the best acted, filmed, directed and have the best stories. Azkaban was very tame.
Love your videos Chris! I always get excited, when you post a review about a movie, I've previously watched. You give it a whole new perspective! Keep it coming!
I can’t watch this movie without watching part 2 straight after. The camping scenes are slow at times but the gringott scenes are incredible and the action in general. The opening getaway scene is also really cool. When ever a horcrux was destroyed it was so satisfying. I’d give this an a-
I remember going to see DH part 2 at Midnight opening night ( the days before 7pm Thursday screenings). We got there at 8 so we could get good seats. So we spent more time waiting for the movie to start than we did actually watching it. People cheered a couple little kids who were having duals in front of the theater. There was an informal costume contest and two guys dressed like patronouses. There was trial and I played a Buffy episode for my friend on my iPod. People cheered and clapped a lot during the movie especially for Neville. I think people were ready to riot when it looked like Kloves was going to give the Nagini killing scene to Hermione. But it was the most fun I've had at any screening including the Avengers and Star Wars.
Nino Suska Oh I can't argue with that. By any comparison, the entire Harry Potter franchise is brilliant in every right, from the cast to direction and from the score to its consistent quality. However, internal comparison proves the last movie to be a poor installment (and that's before you start comparing it to the books). The run time, battle sequences, last showdown, and pacing were just off. However, that's not a say it was and great movie with great moments like a prince's tale, forest resurrection stone scene, and epilogue. Ending a 1 year long franchise like they did is no small feat. Long story short...good-passible finale to a franchise that succeeded better over the long haul such as in the 3rd, 7th pt 1, or 6th movies
I enjoy the dance scene too. But Part 1 is, in my opinion, a great build up for the big showdown in part 2. looking forward to seeing you review it soon.
The other day I was in the movie theatre and as I was walking through a hallway I noticed one side had all Fantastic Beasts posters, and the other has all Rouge One posters. It just struck me how amazing it is to have a new Harry Potter and Star Wars movie out so close to each other. I love it!
I give HPDH Part 1 an A-, but I still think it's one of the most underrated. I do think the movie OVERALL isn't incredible, however, a bunch of the scenes gets an A+ from me. The scene in the diner? A+. The chase scene in the woods? A+. I could keep going.
0:50 HOLY SHIT, that Divergent series' finale is going straight to TV, not 2-part theatrical movies? There is a God in this world after all... Oh btw, I just did the Pottermore quiz, I'm Ravenclaw :)
Chris can you please do a summary of the entire HP series later on? Mabye in the same video as your last HP review. I would love to hear you talking about it as a whole, with you favourite and your least favourite!
I never read the books as a kid but I had the Chamber of Secrets on VHS and loved the heck out of it. So every time I take a break from the series and then marathon it, Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 sucker punches me with the end and I actually cry. RIP in peace Dobby. RIP in peace.
Why do you have to remind me of Dobby and Hedwigs' death! I've mourned for them enough. Thank you so much for doing these reviews Chris. Harry Potter got me into reading and I loved these books, and the movies.
Dang, you glazed over one of my favorite parts being the deathly hallows animated story. I thought this break and explanation was so awesome and interesting to watch. Maybe my favorite part of the movie.
Google is fucking spying on us, i wanted to do the pottermore quiz after he mentioned it, and after writing pot in google pottermore was the first choice it gave me.
I'm vey amazed how we can have so similar taste in movies but so different view on the Potters. I mean, the chase scene with the shakycamera was beautiful? Dobby, who in the movies was only in the second one and in it very annoying dying? Yeah it was emotional but it was nothing to do with how the movies represented him. I feel this series would unwatchable if I hadn't read the books over and over again. Now they just work as a reminder of that reading experience.
This was an incredibly atmospheric film that took its time with the characters and really developed the calm before the storm. I found the storm disappointing once it arrived, but this stands out as the best of the series to me.
I love this movie! First it's beautifully shot. But most importantly it's full of feelings which is one of my favorite things about the whole series. And as you said, it's doesn't have so much action into it but the way the connection between the characters and all the little things that happen to them are made is truly magical. All the feelings it's filled with from the beginning when Hermione ,,obliviates" her parents are so so strong. When it started I was like 5 minutes in and I already knew this was going to be incredible! I really love the Deathly hallows part 1! Thank you for your review!
Don't give crap to the Hobbit. It was announced that it would be 2 films waaay before Harry Potter. The decision to make it 3 movies... that was balls down stupid.
Yo Chris! Welcome to Slytherin House! :D And this movie was a good film, slightly underrated and didn't know why some didn't like it. I have to admit that when I read the book after I got around to read the remaining books, I'm shocked how much got cut out, even more so than even movies, 4, 5, and 6.
I personally still feel this is one of the most underrated Potter films
Also i'm so glad you praised the dance scene as that scene gets so much shit
I'llBeBack Eventually. Ye, tell that to Zod's snapped neck
This movie is so great because you feel the calm before the storm.
Zod's snapped neck deserves shit
NO Xruz nice
I'llBeBack Eventually. DUDE! HARRY was WAYYY into that dance. Just look at his dance while hermione was like wtf you doing...
When Hermione removes her parents memories it works so much better in the movie compared to the book.
I never realised this before but holy crap that makes it even more tragic. All aboard the feels train! :(
ToonsOff Fun I don't know if it's "better" but it's very well done in the movie. Much better for movie screening
I kinda wish I could do that, for reasons I don't need to get in to
ToonsOff Fun I love how you had to say that for such a specific scene. These movies are fantastic, but the source material is some of the finest pieces of literature in modern times... And that isn't exaggeration.
Dobby's death hits a lot harder in the books because Dobby is in most of the books, whereas in the movies he was left out.

The first and last words that Dobby say in the series are; "Harry Potter".
@@orsonlepherd7064 Bruh, you don't do this to me...
A-. I think deathly hallows part 1 is incredibly underrated
*overrated ftfy
Adriano Vazquez...No way...its my least favourite from the framchise..
This is one of my most favorite movies of the whole series, if not the most.
To me, it's better than part 2. I Can't grasp why people don't like it.

I was sadder about Hedwig than Dobby :(
alex pattle same, didn't care about Dobby - I actually hated him
yea i thought he was quite annoying
Dobby's death in the movie didn't have much impact simply because Donny wasn't in the movies enough to get his full character.
alex pattle oh thank gawd, I always felt like a monster for feeling that way..
alex pattle Hedwigs was under played in the movie for me. I've read the book 9 times tho and it gets me every time
the next one deserves an A+ for Snapes story alone

movie snape? yeah sure.... book snape? fuck no.
What do you mean ? Snapes story was very emotional and sad in the book. In the movie we have just seen a few minutes of montage.

Zod's Snapped Neck and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
HA!
Dude! It's been 6 months
WolverinesNation92 this guy is so witty and subtle, deserves an academy award for screenwriting in my personal opinion
I admire your effort on something no one really cares or remembers.
This meme is sometimes still funny. You are not.
Please Chris review Black Mirror, it's one of those shows which needs to be discussed!
Yesss it's so good I jst watched all 3 seasons this weekend!! Never binged watched something so hard 😅
alistair p season 3 was average at best...
gursimar singh if you dont think san junipero was the best thing in life then you are just plain wrong.
Jake Gordon it was boring.. Just plain boring..
Well i respect your opinion but also you are like the only person in the universe with that opinion
I love the rusting WB logo at the start when i watched it at first it gave me chills.
This is one of the best films ever and one my favorite Potter films. The relatio ships are so nuanced, the dialogue scenes are incredible. Even dramatic moments in the novel that are replaced with cinematic DIALOGUE, which rarely works well, but in this film it’s immensely successful.
I totally agree
GamerGuyd7Aces Breaking Dawn was great too.
Deathly Hallows is that book where JKR was like, "Do people like this character? I don't care. DIE EVERYONE, DIE!"
It's like in Malcolm in the Middle when Dewey is arranging his Lego men.
"Live...live...die...live...die"
I really appreciate that she did this, it is a war after all and there should be a lot of causalities even if she killed my favorite character Lupin :'''I
Arturo Aldana The GRRM mode activated
Must've inspired the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
The scene showing the story of the three brothers was exposition but it was a wonderfully creative way to explain it, as opposed to just having one of them read it out loud and nothing else.
Last time I was this early, Zod's neck was still intact.
Last time I was this early Glenn was still alive
thanks for the spoiler assnut
Yuvi Singh you should've watched it by now dumbass
He's been dead for like 2 weeks so you better catch up. There is no spoiler that stef12121999 could give that you wouldn't have gotten from all the media, in fact AMC themselves though I think they learnt since last time.
stef12121999 I'm in the middle of my exams..
stef12121999 STOP BREAKING MY HEART
He needed to talk more about how well this movie was crafted, this movie is honestly a masterpiece
For me the masterpiece is part 2
The way Chris says "SHIIIIT" is so funny
4:05
Deathly Hallows Part I is the absolute best of the saga. Artfully directed, wonderfully performed... the animated sequence of the Legend of the Deathly Hallows alone is reason enough to give this an A. I love Sorcerer's Stone, I love Deathly Hallows Part II, but Part I is in a class all its own.
the only thing that lets it down in the lighting imo, some of the scenes are just way too dark to see anything and it bugs me that they did this
Dobby's death in the movie was much better handled than it was in the book. In the book, it felt rushed, but the movie takes it time and allows the death sequence to sink in for us. Even Dobby's final words brought tears to my eyes.
I think you forgot about the part where Ron explains where he's been and how he returned. It's actually my favorite part of the movie. Very well acted.
Ravenclaw fo Life!!!!!
Where our other Ravenclaws at?
Rawenclaws unite in the library!

Chris I can't wait for you to review Harry Potter and the Snapped Neck of Zod!
😂😂😂
Never gets old! xD
#Memesneverdie
More like "Harry Potter and Snape's Snapped Neck".
i hope this never ends
It's so great doing a marathon of a series you haven't watched in a long time, and watching Chris Stuckmann's and Jeremy Jahns' reviews after each movie!
i felt this was more of a summary than a review
thats what i thought too
The movies was released years ago. He assumes everyone that is going to watch the video has already seen the movies.
which is why I'm the guy you need for in-depth analysis.
+stephanosapoel13 *movies were. It's kind of lame though if he's going to give a spoiler alert warning for the first two film reviews in the series and then suddenly not give any more as he continues. Anyone who might not have seen the films could find out stuff they're not ready to know yet.
Nuntius O seeing a modern review of a DACADE old movies roughly and not expecting spoilers is stupid.
This movie gave me the song 'O children', and for that, I'm thankful.
Chris Stuckmann's videos are just AWESOME!
Please review Black Mirror and The Crown
Both are fucking great.
Gavin48 Yes, just yes!
Chris i don't know if you're gonna read this but watching your reviews has taught me so much about the finer details of films and how to be critical of films and what stuff to consider when making my own films, something I enjoy thoroughly. Thank you
This is in my top 3 harry potter films. I prefer part 1 to part 2. The acting is just so good, and I can think of no bad parts of this film.
I think one of the most underrated scenes in Harry Potter is the chase between Yaxley and the gang through the ministry. It is just so incredibly tense and I love everything about it.
I'd love to see you review all the Rocky movies
i gotchu.
I really cried to death when Dobby the house elf was killed in the first
part of the Deathly Hallows.
My list! just because!
8. Half blood prince: B
7. Sorcerer stone: B
6. Chamber of secrets: B+
5. Goblet of fire: A-
4. Deathly hollows part 2 (what?): A
3. Prisoner of Azkaban: A
2. Deathlly hollows part 1: A
1. order of the phenix: A+
mat sh good list, even though I don't agree :)
mat sh good list, even though I don't completely agree :)
Mark Can I ask what don't you agree on?
mat sh I would've ranked them in an entirely different way since Half Blood Prince is one of my all time favorite HP movies and Chamber of Secret would've been in the bottom, but that's just my opinion :)
8. Chamber of Secrets (B)
7. Goblet of Fire (B+)
6. Half-blood Prince (B+)
5. Deathly Hallows pt2 (A-)
4. Sorcerers Stone (A-)
3. Order of the Phoenix (A)
2. Deathly Hallows pt1 (A)
1. Prisoner of Azkaban (A+)
I really can't wait for Chris to talk about Part 2! My favorite scene that Yates ever did to the Harry Potter movies is the Courtyard Apocalypse.
Though I REALLY wanted to be sorted into Ravenclaw :(
That forest scene was incredible
Thank you for addressing the splitting movies into parts! I really appreciated it. I give props to the actors imitating the golden trio infiltrating the Ministry. I just took the quiz on Pottermore and I'm a Ravenclaw! :D
I think Snape killed Hedwig. Snape was the only one who knew there would be 7 Harry's. I think he saw Hedwig and knew that was the real Harry. So he killed Hedwig to protect Harry.
I am so happy that you mentioned the scene where Harry and Heromine danced, that made this movie one of, if not my very favorite of all the movies.
A B+????? How, this is a MISUNDERSTOOD GEM
when i was reading the book back then, my power was out and i had candles lit all around my house. the voldemort council scene and snape visiting malfoy’s mother was eerie as hell and ingrained in my mind since then.
Voldemort shows up in the end at dumbledores tomb
Chris you're by far my favorite movie reviewer keep up the top notch reviews
I wonder how good the hobbit trilogy would've been if it was just 1 movie that is 4 hours long
there's a legit fan edit by dustin lee, who removed most of the unnecessary crap and literally made one 4 hour movie and it is awesome
Snyder Cut has entered chat
Chris my baby, making Mondays better for us all
Ok, if Half-Blood Prince didn't get an A+, then Deathly Hallows Part 2 surely has to!
Half-Blood Prince doesn't deserve an A+. It doesn't deserve an A-. It doesn't deserve a B-.
Jackson DeStefano Fuck you. It's the best film out the lot! It's a solid A+
Daniel James Prisoner of Azkaban is the best.
Jackson DeStefano Personally, Half-Blood Prince is my favorite. Prisoner of Azkaban is really good, but Half-Blood Prince just stuck with me more.
I'm a simple man. I see a new Stuckmann review, I change my pants.
I can’t watch this movie without watching part 2 straight after. The camping scenes are slow at times but the gringott scenes are incredible and the action in general. The opening getaway scene is also really cool. When ever a horcrux was destroyed it was so satisfying. I’d give this an a-
Is it bad that I laughed at that Ascendant joke and I'm a fan of the series? 😂😂
same 😂
Eduar _RBC Thank you!! :) I'm a twihard too so I surely have :D
AllegiantUS twihard? This is divergent not twilight lmao
Deathly Hallows part 2 better get an A+ Chris or u will be forever deemed a muggle
Andrew Abraham ... no, it's pretty much one of the best... like top 3.
Thank you Andrew Abraham. I thought I was one of the few who thought that. For part 2 they chucked the book out practically.
Andrew Abraham still a damn good Movie, just don't compare everything with the books
Part 2 better get a C+ since this didn't get an A.
I enjoy the dance scene too. But Part 1 is, in my opinion, a great build up for the big showdown in part 2. looking forward to seeing you review it soon.
The opening scene of this movie is so beautiful
The other day I was in the movie theatre and as I was walking through a hallway I noticed one side had all Fantastic Beasts posters, and the other has all Rouge One posters. It just struck me how amazing it is to have a new Harry Potter and Star Wars movie out so close to each other. I love it!
This is honestly my favorite film in the entire series.
I give HPDH Part 1 an A-, but I still think it's one of the most underrated. I do think the movie OVERALL isn't incredible, however, a bunch of the scenes gets an A+ from me. The scene in the diner? A+. The chase scene in the woods? A+. I could keep going.
how do they manage to keep the characters fresh and interesting throughout the film series?
0:50
HOLY SHIT, that Divergent series' finale is going straight to TV, not 2-part theatrical movies?
There is a God in this world after all...
Oh btw, I just did the Pottermore quiz, I'm Ravenclaw :)
My 11 year old self is Slytherin
My current self is Hufflepuff
DanyyelTR I'm the same except my 11 year old self was Gryffindor lol
Attack Potato Always
Chris can you please do a summary of the entire HP series later on? Mabye in the same video as your last HP review. I would love to hear you talking about it as a whole, with you favourite and your least favourite!
So Chris is a Slitheran, not what I expected.
I did the test and got Hufflepuff.
Matthew Hilliker i got gryffindor but i think im more of a Ravenclaw
can you share the link to the test?
I never read the books as a kid but I had the Chamber of Secrets on VHS and loved the heck out of it. So every time I take a break from the series and then marathon it, Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 sucker punches me with the end and I actually cry. RIP in peace Dobby. RIP in peace.
i cried more at dobbys death than at my own grandpas funeral
That was a great video Chris like always. I can't wait for part 2.
fantastic beasts looks so pointless...
as much as philosopher's stone
TheDragonSmasher I kind of agree. I'm not excited for it and the limited footage we've seen doesn't suggest at all that it will have much plot.
I don't want to spoil it for you so you can Google it yourself, but there definitely is a much larger plot at play with Fantastic Beasts.
And it fuckin was.
Why do you have to remind me of Dobby and Hedwigs' death! I've mourned for them enough. Thank you so much for doing these reviews Chris. Harry Potter got me into reading and I loved these books, and the movies.
I prefer part 2 over the first part
-Most people
Dang, you glazed over one of my favorite parts being the deathly hallows animated story. I thought this break and explanation was so awesome and interesting to watch. Maybe my favorite part of the movie.
Any other Ravenclaws here?
So proud to be on Gryffindor!
The One Ring is a Horcrux technically
Chris! You should do the patronus pottermore quiz as well for the next video, I'm so curious
Google is fucking spying on us, i wanted to do the pottermore quiz after he mentioned it, and after writing pot in google pottermore was the first choice it gave me.
You deserve many more subs than the one you have great vids great reviews!! You know what you're doing keep up the good work!!
Still my favorite Harry Potter movie!
editing on point this review chris
This movie gave me a crush on Emma Watson
I'm vey amazed how we can have so similar taste in movies but so different view on the Potters. I mean, the chase scene with the shakycamera was beautiful? Dobby, who in the movies was only in the second one and in it very annoying dying? Yeah it was emotional but it was nothing to do with how the movies represented him. I feel this series would unwatchable if I hadn't read the books over and over again. Now they just work as a reminder of that reading experience.
Notification Squad where ya at?
Karim Gandara drink me
Clorox Bleach ok
Present
Here!
Karim Gandara what the fuck is that??? Notification squad??
This was an incredibly atmospheric film that took its time with the characters and really developed the calm before the storm. I found the storm disappointing once it arrived, but this stands out as the best of the series to me.
I was sorted out to Hufflepuff
Chris Stuckmann actually enjoys The Hobbit trilogy very much and gave each film high grades. He was saying that it felt stretched out that's all.
Yo Chris! Welcome to Slytherin House! :D
And this movie was a good film, slightly underrated and didn't know why some didn't like it. I have to admit that when I read the book after I got around to read the remaining books, I'm shocked how much got cut out, even more so than even movies, 4, 5, and 6.
