I got to be honest - being both a Swiftie and a music producer I didn't expect this... but this video is already one of my favs on this channel! Thank you!
Glad you liked that! I actually made this ENTIRE thing with analog synths too just to see the difference but I thought it may be harder for people to follow. Want more analog synth content in the future??
@@MakePopMusic I mean it is I guess. And for me personally I don't have analog synth cause of the big price tag but i think it's just so good to understand it and see how it sounds and where the difference is. I just love analog synths and I'd love to see more with them haha I think a healthy mix between digital and analog is the best haha Thank you
you're a genius, thank you so much for doing this kind of content. i've been watching mpm videos since 2017 (i guess, can't really remember it), and all this time it's been making me a better producer. thank you again. greetings from brazil! ✨
Super cool How-To-t-Swift, kind of a Masterclass right there, thank you. It's a weird album: 31 songs, and not a single radio hit /dance floor hit among them. Several could (easily?) be made-up and elevated to single-dom, IMO: I Can Fix Him (no really I can) -- is mood-wise a little bit blues-swampy which suits Swift's style of singing /storytelling very well -- it even has a nice chorus, although it's presently not 'dressed up' as such (just like the rest of the album.) The chorus lyric is enticing and easy to sing, so it's almost oven-ready. It has a really cool, or actually, warm, atmosphere that works well as a build-up. Though the producers choose not to let it explode in the big radio-friendly chorus it seems to build up to. --- Another ripe track is: But Daddy I Love Him ... this one's even developed a good bit further toward a classic radio hit. Though still without going the Full Monty. There are others, but all 31 tracks has this element in common that ... I kind of get the feeling that it is ON PURPOSE that Antonoff, Dessner and Swift did *not* develop any of the songs all the way toward a hit single. As if it's -- I dunno, an experiment, or sumpin'
Hey, have you ever heard Roosevelt's music? He does really great synthpop and makes very interesting productions, would be very fitting to those kind of vids, idk just an idea, great video as always
It’s really just figuring out the gain reduction you want, then deciding if you want the side chain on so it doesn’t take low end content into account for compression thresholds. Then just make up the gain. It’s fixed attack, release, and ratio.
Yo Austin! I'm looking to set up a studio and start my journey. Do you have a MIDI controller that you recommend? I've looked at several but that's the one thing that will be my biggest purchase to start off, so I'd love to get a good one. Thanks!
Awesome :) thanks ! I feel like taylor swift new albums are like "undermixed" or "premixed", I don't know why, it feel so blurry with all the reverb and the drums section are wayyy too far. I don't really understand how this can be so big. Maybe it's a really new way of thinking music, or maybe it's more lyrics based and because i'm french I don't understand it verywell...
It’s just a super ambient style of mixing. Less punchy, more roomy. I kind of like it because EVERYTHING now is so overly in your face. But I get where you’re coming from
Bro pls make a video about "how to make song like Stephen Sanchez" btw love from india❤ I hope u'll read it and next Friday we will get the video by ur love

And throw it all there...well I miss less songs and at least a single I can play out loud....where is the Billie Jean of an artist like this which is probably the number 1 pop star world wide since a decade now
I can definitely understand that. I think Fortnight, Down Bad, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, Florida, and But Daddy I Love Him all have single potential. But it's always hard listening to 31 songs and not wishing it was scaled down a littleeee.
love the sounds, her chord progresison are so boring and mundne the same shit every album. I , V, vi , IV , I Vi, ii V sometimes a vi start off. same cadence , I can't listen to her albums they have absolutely no tesion , compared to something like k pop , j pop its sad idk i never got her stuff and after learning music theory, its just much worse I did hear it very fast. with so much I, vi, ii , V7, I , or jazz progression you wanna put in pop . these passed couple of years I am surprised not to hear very many . you had to that but the juno sound reminds me of that drake song- summer games very very close.
Oh dear, I thought Austin was just going to fart in a mic, as that would about cover the content of this entire album. I saw someone else describe Tortured Poets Dept as a mixture of paint drying, rat sh!t, and plastic fruit. Nailed it. Austin is awesome though.

Hi, can I ask some question about mixing background vocals like those that taylor has ? 😁😁
Well that is a GREAT PRODUCER but also a GREAT SONGWRITER working... awesome
the best channel on UA-cam in terms of clarity and very high quality. Well done.
My favorite type of videos! Please more like this Austin!
By far the most informative, creative and overall BEST production tutorials I have ever seen
Thank you so much!
Such talent! Loved this because I’m a massive Swiftie
Man this song is one of my favorites from your tutorials. what a great song
I find it really cool that you included analog synths

@@MakePopMusic Can we hear that version too? And more analog content please!
You are simply great at what you do. I learned a lot today.
Man you never cease to amaze me
Please keep this series coming~~ I subbed to you for all things Taylor, love your other videos mimicking her music
You never seize to impress with you incredible producer skills Austin... you're my favourite UA-cam producer without a doubt 💯❤️🤗
So happy for this one 😍
Thank you! Had a blast doing this one!
I love how you circled back to your sweet tooth pack. It’s one of your most fire packs, in my humble opinion. Beat and process was very enjoyable. ✌🏾

Another great track...so talented...thanks for sharing
Geeze, this guy is good! I dont even make music like this. Just hip hop, but this is pretty incredible! LOL!
Great chorus! Love it
I dont use this DAW, but these videos are still so amazing and helpful
This is dope🔥🔥

Nice keep op the good work
Perfect Intro
I kind of wish the little melody before the prechorus would be made into a massive bridge melody. I can hear it in my head.
Your singing voice is beautiful and fragile here
Hey Austin! Could you maybe do a video on how to make a song like lorde?
so good i had to warcg twice
Another great video, thank you! Love that Theremin Lead! I downloaded the presets, but the ANA2 preset seems to be missing a WAV file.
This is so fun to watch. Do you mind sharing the project file from cubase to study the whole thing? Thanks much!
That snare had so much weight, it almost felt like I was on heaven.

Do you have any released songs? I would love to hear your song on spotify!
Can you do a video on how to make a song like Stephen Sanchez thank you.

I hope you work with Taylor one day❤

He usually starts from the stratch.
I can’t get Serum on iPad 😢
Can you show how to work compressor la 2a
