Dude i had goosebumps at the end. Amazing video! Great choice of music, you truly expressed very well why a lot of us habs fans are excited, very excited about the future.
Nice video, thanks for that. I do think this team is taking the next step towards contender this year. Every game they play, they're in it now. Even the one they lost to Chicago (their only regulation loss since Christmas), they had a CF% of 60% and 62% of the high-danger chances (both 5v5), putting 40 shots on net (58% expected goals for at 5v5). They were in that game until the end. Before, they'd go down a goal or two, and it was over, you could tell. Now, there's belief in the system - they know they have a shot so they keep playing hard, and have made comebacks against some incredible teams (Washington, Vegas and Colorado). Adding Laine was a genius move - he gives them a legitimate powerplay. And if teams start shadowing him and somehow successfully stop him from scoring PP goals (unlikely, but it's possible), they'll do it at the expense of giving Caufield those same scoring chances. And to think, Demidov is coming over this year, and he'll give them even more elite scoring. It's been a long, dark and painful time at the bottom of the league (3.5 seasons doesn't sound that long but it felt it)...but it is clear now that the re-build is over. It's time to win. Oh, and it's Dobeš (pronounced Dough-besh). Habs fans better remember Alt-0154 (which makes the š), because they're going to need it a LOT over the next few years!
People forget that after the 2021 playoffs the HABS lost 11 of the 23 players that took us to the playoffs, either through career ending injuries(Weber, Price, Byron) UFA, RFA and the "Offre Hostil" to KK. They had to plug holes and draft. The Bergevin and the coaching staff were all fired.
@@stephenp.6395 Ducharme was set up for defeat. Bergevin before hte season started said "this season Ducharme can take us back to the stanley cup final" That was after replacing Price with Montembault, Danault with Dvorak and Weber with Savard. There's no way Ducharme was going to live up to expectation under these circumstance.
I watched Marty play college hockey, he breathes and bleeds hockey. Inspired selection as coach, will bring Montreal back if the Canadian press will give him the space and time to do it. And I’m a Bruins fan…
Mat Naslund was the la 100 pointer. He was also a pretty good defensive player. Saint Louis is having offensive success because he lets offensive players play offense.
Wow, got to love how the Habs are playing these days! I'm a die hard Oilers fan but I'm cheering for Montreal to just put the pedal down and go for it all! They are the most exciting team to watch lately. Remember what the St. Louis Blues did in 2019? The Blues were the worst team in the league up until January when they turned things around and went on an unbelievable run right through the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs and of course come out winning the Stanley Cup 👍. I'm not saying the Habs are going to be the 2019 St Louis Blues, but hey anything is possible. After all nobody saw what the Blues did as remotely possible going from the leagues worst to hoisting Lord Stanley 😊. What I would love to see is an all Canadian cup final.... Oilers VS Canadians 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😋
What a vid bro! I’ve been watching your channel for a while and you always bring the goods. I just subscribed to SportsNet to get more Habs games, and the contrast between their analysis (basics IMO) and yours is stark. I love your clips while putting things into perspective with the energy that gets me fired up as a fan. All of it is top shelf. Tremendous job and for what it’s worth you get a like and a sub. #GoHabsGo!
A beautifully done video there! With all the talent we have and is to come in the following years i think the best is coming to them in the very near future. Hutson is going to be an All-star defensemen top 5 in the league mark my word and with Demidov coming next year the future of this team looks bright.
Love that line. PK master class plus so much offensive upside. Habs need to keep all 3. I'm having a tough time with Slavkovsky though. No follow through on checks, it's like he inked his contract and is playing at 75%
I’ve played high level hockey, and watched the sport religiously for decades now and let me tell you, every time I watch your videos I feel as though I get a completely new perspective on how to watch, analyze and fundamentally understand the sport - thanks for the content brotha!
something magical is going on with the habs for the past month. We are finally seeing the potential of our reconstruction and its looking damn good. Also players chemistry also dramastically improved, you see it every in every game
I used to watch Hockey (all habs games) when I was young from like 1996-2009 then lost my passion... restarted watching when they made the final in 2021 vs Tampa and started watching all these youtube hockey channels. It makes it way more interesting to be passionate about hockey and care/know all the little things when you have channels like this and the hockey guy!
Ty for continuing to be responsible and moderate with the gambling sponsorships. You mentioned when you did the first one, that you wanted to do those ad spots differently, and truly, i think that you have!
It sure starts to feel the Habs aren't in a perpetual rebuild what feels some teams have been in for a while. With some good pieces smartly added and right amount of patience they certainly are starting to show result. I have no doubt either that Marty is a perfect coach for this type of team and is actually an excellent coach as well.
Long time Habs fan here. One thing to point out is our GM, lets not forget that Kent has been absolutly cooking since his arrival in Montreal. Getting Marty all the pieces he needs to get this team the success that it deserves.
You nailed it, Rob! The take off, the jump and the landing. Great stuff as always. I hope that your Canucks are able to successfully sort out their issues in and outside of the locker room. I’d love to see them thriving. It’s been a long time for you guys. 🥅🏒
Awesome video Rob! Yes, the HABS in 2-3 years will be VERY competitive! Hopefully they can sign Laine after his current contract. So you’d have Laine, Caufield & Demidov as premier scorers.
Most people say it will be Edmonton, but I think the next Canadian team to win the Cup will be the last Canadian team to win the Cup. Les Canadiens in 2027-8.
Might never happen, but I'd like to see the top regional player get a pre-draft negotiation with the NHL team(s) in that Province or State (usually his Home Province or State or where he's been playing Hockey) meaning that a TOP ONTARIO or QUEBEC player gets an option to play for Toronto or Montreal before the draft. Even if just 1 top player gets to "dodge the draft' each year, for each Canadian Team it would balance the extra leverage that USA Teams have now (ie. more money, larger cities tend to have deeper pockets). During the 6-team league, Montreal would get most of the top French Canadien players and Toronto would get most of the top Ontario players. The 4 USA Teams were at a disadvantage then. Now it is the other way around. Maybe the Canucks would finally win the Stanley Cup if the top BC Born players played for them instead of the competition. I saw Vancouver Canucks in 1970-71 when I was 11, now I am 65...they had 2 good chances to win in the last 31 years in 1994 and 2011, and in 1994 I thought that there were too many good BC born players playing elsewhere or they would have won that close series! Luckily I was a Montreal Fan from 1965 and from 1965-1979 they won 10 of 15 Stanley Cups, so while they have not won since 1993, I don't feel too sorry for them!
I used to drive the Zamboni at LEDDY ARENA in Burlington Vermont when Marty was part of THE TURCOTTE STICK HANDLING HOCKEY CAMP . After pulling the nets to middle so I could get around the boards he would skate the net back and then try to shot a puck into the tool box opening under my drivers seat . He didn’t hit me in the back too many times 😂
The culture thing is something that i think people tend to gloss over. Organizations like Buffalo, Ottawa, minni, and the leafs have so much pent-up anxiety about winning. Montreals done it, you think of it, and they've been through it. History gives lessons. It is not a matter of "if" but "when". The cup belongs in Montreal and every single player that wears that jersey has said when they put it on there is no question about who you're playing for. 💯 this is a superpower and allows them to punch above their weight.
My feelings exactly. At the beginning of the season, I said that with Laine, if this team could avoid the injury bug, they would be playoff contenders. I was right to a certain extent; turned out Primeau couldn’t match his prowess of late last season, Laine was sidelined with an injury and the Barron gamble didn’t pan out. Suddenly,in came Laine, Dobes and Carrier and Presto ! These guys are in the mix. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about my Habs. St-Louis is without a doubt an excellent coach but also one has to admit that Kent Hugues, more often than not, is making all the right moves.
Just remember Caufield before Martin St Louis. Before he arrived in Montreal, Caufield was playing so-so, and then he was a scored machine in the making because of St Louis. Now with this The Rockies goaltender which I like a lot, seems better by a mile.
Love it! The Habs have been so fun to watch. Never had any real hope of the playoffs at the start of the season. And I’m so glad St.Louis is still in charge. Everyone wanted him gone. Just kept saying to stay the course. And boom! Can’t wait to see how the rest of this season plays out. Playoffs or not. Let’s go!!!!!!
I just want to say , that everyone in the league those days play a version of the neutral zone trap , i know a lot of people will say im wrong , but what the games closely . Every team play neutral zone trap . It just the best way to play neutral zone .
They started getting depth scoring which they didn't get last year. Would not be surprised if they make the playoffs, but they still have holes at offense and defense.
In the next few years I think that Montreal has cup potential. If they continue to stay consistent and develop good players, they will for sure be a top tier team in the league
I'd like to add that all those wins against the recent stanley cup champions were on the road, during the christmas/new year trip, which has always been a disaster for montreal in recent years. They traveled to a bunch of different time zones, 2 back to back games. They lost to chicago against a great goalie and they came in colorado really late, after playing in chicago the night before. We thought "they will come back to earth, lost to chicago, plays in high altitude, 2nd game in 24 hours yeah it's probably a loss" they win in colorado, then come back after a long trip at home (which is usually a recipe for disaster) but they come back from 1-3 and win. The then beat the caps at washington and lose in a shootout against the hottest team in the nhl, dallas. Really impressed by that tean recently. They won the games they were supposed to lose.
@ yeah, maybe but soderbloom was great in that game and they were taveling like crazy during that trip. And chicago played well in that game, so maybe it's something to worry about, but at the same time I had a bad feeling against chicago before the game. I wasn't surprised with the calendar they had and the 3 previous games being huge emotionally, it's human to lose a bit of fire against chicago.
Ive been telling people since Demidov was drafted that the Canadiens are poised to be a top 3 team in the league in a few years once all our prospects develop and people laughed at me... they easily have the deepest prospect pool in the league at the moment and one of the youngest rosters in the league and are still punching above their weight class
That's why the Kucherov comments when he was drunk in the post-game conference made me laugh at that time. ''the fans, they acted like they just won the cup, i mean come on''. Oh poor Kucherov, you really don't know do you ?
And to think that nobody is talking about Reinbacher ,if he develops into a solid D’ man our d core will be set. Future sure looks bright Great video very interesting and professional.
1:30 the Habs were on pace for 30+ wins keep in mind with a worse team. Around the time the MSL tenure started that year, we seen the Habs sell off a lot of their assets like Toffoli, Lehkonen. To me, it seems that there was a big confidence issue in the team. The team had no captain as Weber was still with the C but wasn't playing. And your also missing your best player, Price. Honestly it also does paint the picture for how much of a fluke that finals run was. Because outside Weber (who wasn't even a star at that point when they made the finals.) This teams forward and defensive core on opening night faced only minor losses. It seems MSL being a former player, showed players like Caufield or Suzuki how to regain that confidence. I mean Caufield had 1 goal in 30 games that year under DD, then under MSL had 22 goals in 37 games. It's overall pretty weird Habs fans are calling for MSL to be fired. Why would we fire a coach that's been through it all with the Habs, progressed our team well and a guy who's built relations with a lot of the players? (P.S; 1:44 MSL didn't even have Slafkovsky in year one. Only got him in year 2. Keep in mind was basically 17 from missing a year due to covid that year.
They know that their game has imnproved and they get it, now...and how to keep it going. Lots more upside to explore, particularly with a dynamic duo in the nets. Cheers!
Pittsburgh born and raised. Rooting for montreal to be a competitor. Loving that young roster and have always been a Laine fan. I KNOW Laine can score 50 in an NHL season.
Also, been a Suzuki fan since he was a prospect for Vegas. Never saw him being captain of the Canadiens and hes definitely reached his potential so far and then some.

Thank you for this as a habs fan your channel has always brought me joy
Dude i had goosebumps at the end. Amazing video!
Great choice of music, you truly expressed very well why a lot of us habs fans are excited, very excited about the future.
well this is a good start to my day ty
Great vid! One thing though, Jakub Dobes' last name is pronounced DoBESH not dobes lol
😂
The Bergevin and the coaching staff were all fired.
... and Ducharme was a horrible coach ! He kept Caufield on the 4th line!
Bergervin was long over do to go.
Bet it all on Price and Webber, neither worth the pay day.
@@Adam-ln4og our final run was entirely on the back of Price and Weber who both aggravated their injuries so much that it ended their careersé
@jonathandrouin8717 Price and Webber were never that good.
I watched Marty play college hockey, he breathes and bleeds hockey. Inspired selection as coach, will bring Montreal back if the Canadian press will give him the space and time to do it. And I’m a Bruins fan…
Not the Canadian press...the MONTREAL PRESS...they are insane
Not the Canadian press...the Montreal press😢
Rob habs vid has my tent pitched
Mat Naslund was the la 100 pointer. He was also a pretty good defensive player.
Saint Louis is having offensive success because he lets offensive players play offense.
Goosebumps. LFG Habs!! Been a looong time coming.
Laine and Carrier definitely boosted the morale as well.
Was waiting for this video.
Great job as always Rob!
man this vid got me hyped
Unreal video. Gave me goosebumps at the end.
Dobe-esh*
Incredible vid again! Habs vid are the best 🎉
Great vid man, the ending is perfect
You need to talk about Heineman, Evans, and Armia! Scoring at an absurd pace playing 4th line minutes
What a beauty video!! Thanks🎉
Great job this is a masterclass
Cant wait to watch yours videos on hutson and demidov!
something magical is going on with the habs for the past month.
Great vid bro 👍
CHILLS! thanks for the video!
Holy! What a great vid!!
I’m gonna say it: It is OUR decade to WIN another STANLEY CUP BABY! Go Habs Go !!! 🎉
Love your play by play analysis and breakdown!
Awesome video and breakdown!
Ty for continuing to be responsible and moderate with the gambling sponsorships. You mentioned when you did the first one, that you wanted to do those ad spots differently, and truly, i think that you have!
Amazing. Simply Amazing. Well done Rob. Love your stuff.
Hehe very climactic video, love it.
"Dobes" is pronounced "Dobesh" btw ;)
It sure starts to feel the Habs aren't in a perpetual rebuild what feels some teams have been in for a while. With some good pieces smartly added and right amount of patience they certainly are starting to show result. I have no doubt either that Marty is a perfect coach for this type of team and is actually an excellent coach as well.
I live in Stamford, ct and get to see St. Louis at Stamford twin rinks all the time. Awesome guy
Long time Habs fan here. One thing to point out is our GM, lets not forget that Kent has been absolutly cooking since his arrival in Montreal. Getting Marty all the pieces he needs to get this team the success that it deserves.
To me the Christmas road trip defined this team.
The Habs told the NHL.
We are the Habs, we are here to win.
Bring it!
since Roy left that christmas roadtrip was always a disaster year after year
Well done Rob !
Go Habs, fan in Idaho.
one heck of a hype video my dude!!
Super job here ..love your analysis without a lot of fluff ..
Amazing video loved it
Most people say it will be Edmonton, but I think the next Canadian team to win the Cup will be the last Canadian team to win the Cup. Les Canadiens in 2027-8.
Habs vs Oilers for 2025 SCF
I wish. The Jew bettman wont let rhat happen
great video...keep making habs videos we will watch em and make them your best viewed. habs nation feels good now.
this video made me cry thank you
now cue the video about the 2021 playoff run on top
Its been an honour to experience. Cant wait for Demidov to make the lineup
Reinbacher will be good next year too. I wouldn't write him off just yet
Damn! This video got me hyped up!!
Such great content
The culture thing is something that i think people tend to gloss over. Organizations like Buffalo, Ottawa, minni, and the leafs have so much pent-up anxiety about winning. Montreals done it, you think of it, and they've been through it. History gives lessons. It is not a matter of "if" but "when". The cup belongs in Montreal and every single player that wears that jersey has said when they put it on there is no question about who you're playing for.
💯 this is a superpower and allows them to punch above their weight.
Unbelievable those victories. Totally crazy.
Now with this
The Rockies goaltender which I like a lot, seems better by a mile.
The Marti St-Louis era is what we've been waiting for over 30 years : an actual reconstruction.
Amazing video 😍
It's all about the culture, great vidéo.
Thanks for making this video on the HABS. It's nice to see some non-hate once in a while.
GoHABSGo!
Great video!
GREAT video and comments. ... You should be a MARKETING AGENT for the CH !
MSL was usually one of the best picks in a hockey pool when he was active. A point machine those days in TB with Brad Richards, Vincent Lecavalier.
I just want to say , that everyone in the league those days play a version of the neutral zone trap , i know a lot of people will say im wrong , but what the games closely . Every team play neutral zone trap . It just the best way to play neutral zone .
I appreciate the subtle Goldeneye pause music
They started getting depth scoring which they didn't get last year. Would not be surprised if they make the playoffs, but they still have holes at offense and defense.
In the next few years I think that Montreal has cup potential. If they continue to stay consistent and develop good players, they will for sure be a top tier team in the league
i think Marty has enough fate left in him to be the coach to bring it back
Marty is so perfect for what Laine and lane need, ur right about there
This is just the beginning of a great rise.
They won the games they were supposed to lose.
but then the Chicago loss makes me think that they still have the bottom team plague...meaning they always lose to the bottom 3 teams
He is the best coach we could dream of.
And to think that nobody is talking about Reinbacher ,if he develops into a solid D’ man our d core will be set.
Future sure looks bright
Great video very interesting and professional.
Holy shit great video
Brindamour did the same exact thing in Carolina. Teams should take more risks when hiring coaches
Cheers!
Not at all, we only traded Toffoli and Lehkonen after Bergevin was replaced with Hughes and we were at the bottom of the standing.
I always say one thing: champions are forged through defeat! The comeback is the most important.
Habs fans can’t wait for next year
Pittsburgh born and raised.
Habs fan but i really hope you guys get mckenna next year just to see him get mentor by crosby like lemieux did with him. I still remember that first game with crosby and lemieux, felt very special
