- This is a discussion of Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs and they relate in todays motorcycle club world today. Cop Clubs are here and not going away. Do they belong? What defines a cop club?
Give your definition of what a cop club is.
We had a cop in my area that wanted to start a MC and went the the top 1% club to get permission to start the club. The police chief fired him within a couple of days. His reason is that a cop does not ask criminal for permission to start a club.
What agency was this?
I'm assuming, just by that statement, there is no police union/PBO in your state
If a club allowing a few cops in makes them a "Cop Club", does another club allowing a few criminals in make them a "Criminal Enterprise "?

In my neck of the woods, “LEO” clubs are restricted to active and retired law enforcement.
A cop club sporting the 3 piece patch, and wearing the "uniform" of a diamond club, makes a lot more sense, when you realize that cops are just another gang!
Oh here we go there is always a person who uses the term gang and the police.

Lots of clubs don't let cops in, but they get mad when they want to make their own club to express their love of motorcycles I don't like the hypocrisy of it
Truth be told, it’s about power. The clubs who don’t like cops running a patch is simply because they don’t want to have the potential push back.

I would define a cop club as one comprised of all members being current or retired LE and presenting itself as such. No infiltration or hiding who they are but being open about who they are. Just like military veteran clubs who display who they are openly.

I think what he meant was the public assumed the LEO would not be subjected to the due process of law for his actions and it would be overlooked/not charged as a crime.
Whether or not the DA decides to hand waive the incident is another story...

Looking at this from the outside LE MC's stand up and demonstrate what being in an MC is truly about, brotherhood, sharing the love of riding motorcycles as a group and standing up proud of who you are, its a free country, why shouldnt they? I understand that 1% clubs are just criminal gangs, they create an image about being a gang with a gangster code and protect their "turf" like a traditional criminal gang, they try to intimidate with their presence in large numbers, they recruit support clubs to do their local surveillance, they recruit from the support clubs and get greater support in numbers in case of trouble with another 1% club. There is a constant fight between good and evil in our society and the LE clubs place themselves firmly on the ritchous side of that fight. LE clubs set a shining example of standing up for the free right of people to start an MC without the need to grovel to a criminal gang for permission.
To be a cop club 1, should state LE MC on rear of cut. 2, must be ALL cops. You are correct that a LE MC does not need "permission" but should show respect. We went to the COC and advised that we would be forming a LE MC and presented them with our "Colors". We wanted to show respect by making sure that we stayed original and did not duplicate any other colors or designs. But we did not ask permission. The COC returned the respect by advising that as long as we stay LE MC there would be no problems. We are comprised of retired cops who love to ride and support our local charities and churches. Also Iron Order is NOT a cop club. I have never seen or heard of a real cop pulling out a "badge" to prevent his/herself from getting an ass-whopping or to win an argument. That would get you arrested or fired in a heartbeat. Only "honorary" or "I know you so here's a badge" people are stupid enough to do that.

IMHO the best Cop Club is the Blue Knights. We never pretended to be something we were not, it was family orientated, and was nothing more than a group of cops from many different agencies getting together for the love of motorcycles, riding and camaraderie. A few beers were drunk but we policed our own (pun intended) and made sure no one got on their bike intoxicated. We never talked smack about other clubs and did not go looking for trouble.
Pade - I’ve ridden with several members of the Blue Knights over the years and each one was a true example of being a good motorcyclist. I’ve yet to see a Blue Knights act ignorantly or disrespectful. Great club that’s been around for a long time.

I had a disappointing experience with a charity organization that I tried to prospect for. I was chastised for being a retired cop and not welcomed...very disappointing. So I guess cop club is all I can join.
Every club or organization is different. Don’t let shallow, near sighted people deter you from doing what you want. If they don’t want you, you definitely don’t want or need them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I believe that a law enforcement club identifies as a cop club. Having an undercover cop in a club does not make you a cop club.

I am currently a member/P of an LEMC. Currently, our chapter (going on 4 years now) is the furthest on the west coast. I once was a Secretary for a different LEMC and moved up to P. I don't want to throw out the name of my former club. But I will say this. During the few years I was with my former club, I experienced things that didn't sit right with me. One of them being members being patched in too quickly without really getting a feel for them. And it became a cancer. I say this because they acted like they walked on both sides of the fence.....1% mentality. That's a bad mix and will spread like cancer, put other members in bad situations, and kill a club. Not to mention put a target on our back. So, a few of us broke off and started up a different chapter of a different club. I've been been asked by other people, not in the bike scene about the whole 'asking permission' because of our 3 piece patch. And because we're guilty of breaking tradition I have wondered what will happen when paths crossed. It happened. About a year ago myself and few members were standing outside an establishment in Arizona. Most of my my guys were inside. A guy rode up and as he turned to put something away I saw his cut and he was no prospect. As he made his way towards us he started to take off his gloves. We shook hands and introduced ourselves. He went inside for awhile, then left. I was expecting the bad but the outcome was good. When I saw your other video about politeness and respect goes a long way, I immediately thought about that day. I stay in my own lane, use common sense and stay out of other people's business. It can be complicated being part of a club...if you allow it to be. But I'm not a complicated guy. I was a cop in the Marine Corps and have been in the law enforcement field since 1988. I'm okay with others not liking me because of my profession. That's fine. But I am respectful and that goes a long way. Enough of my rambling.....

There used to be a cop in town that rode a Harley but it’s been a year or two since I’ve seen him, at least not on a bike. One day, we ended up side by side at a light. He was turning left and I was going straight. He mentioned how hot it was and that’s what started a short conversation. The times after that, he always waved.
As long as they stick to themselves and leave the rest of the clubs alone . Should be a code of honor when they are on there bikes then leave the cop part behind .
I love that you've done the work you've done and backstop my assessment of clubs as far as every patch not being involved in crime.
A cop club is when a club knows there is a cop in there club, if a OC has a cop that has infiltrated a club he lied to get in, that's a different animal all together. If you get time, do a video on thoughts on Christian MC's & MM's interesting stuff I enjoy hearing from a cop's point of view.

Congratulations! Cool your poll, is really current after long years of the emergence of 99% er or LEMCs.
LE clubs would not be LE if they had to ask permission for 1% er clubs! And this is not a confrontation, but an evolution in the world of MCs.
LEMCs follow the purpose of riding an original motorcycle, enjoying life on two wheels with freedom, ok ... however, without committing crimes!
They worship the fellowship with respect in the first place, their brothers, the club, their families, and their homeland.
This is true freedom and original! They are free to associate, to have their own regulations within the law, to practice activities for the benefit of society, for the needy, and to ride a motorcycle making a difference, not because they are better or worse than the other, but because they respect everyone equally!
Like it or not, the 1% er has a legacy, a history, so we have to respect it. They had some importance on the world motorcycle scene, but that does not mean that LE will approve criminal practices.
LEMC are also not security guards for events, they are there to enjoy life like any motorcyclist, they are just moving on and writing their story!
Today there are LEMCs all over the world, here in Brazil for example, there are several respectable clubs, some came from the USA, others from Italy, and there are also the original Brazilian LE such as Nacionaes LEMC.
Nacionaes LEMC is a reference in Brazil talking about law enforcements clubs, they have been taking this culture forward, respecting the culture, the biker code and the other clubs, and so they have been writing a story of a lot of road and respect. Sorry for the long text, but I thought it would help your audience.

A "Cop Club" is one that requires in its bylaws either current active, or full retired law enforcement status for membership.
The definition of a Cop MC is.... LE on their cut. plan and simple.
Wolfpackpilot you are correct my friend clubs that do not wear Nellie patch but are law-abiding are exactly with that law-abiding they are not a cop Club. They do not call the cops on every little thing they see they mind their own business if you attack one of their brothers they will stand their ground and defend that brother under what the law allows. Law-abiding clubs and law enforcement clubs are not running around acting like one percenter clubs. They hold the traditions of the original MCs the original MC was created by men that rode together party together and considerate each other brothers that is what a traditional MC is. The one percenter if you talk to old school bikers has nothing to do with criminal activity it has to do with attitude being free being beholding to none. So people should stop saying that law enforcement MCs and law-abiding MCs are trying to ride around like one percenters unfortunately you do have people in every Walk of Life that think they're badass and bully people I know in our Club we police our club we remove people from our club that act like that. The members of our club should show respect to all people. Our club stands by our founding principles (HILTH) which stands for Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, Trust and Honor. that is something that all people should live by

My opinion on cops in clubs wearing 3 patches live free and ride till you die we dont live forever and I believe that's what it's all about that will be the legacy
I have been a Police Officer for 35yrs and I am in a Cop Club we are a 100% Police Club we do not allow civilians in our club I know the club you were talking about in Melrose Park, IL they were given an altimatom by their agency and the Fed's your either a 1% Club or your the Police. Most of the L/E members dropped their patches and the President was a Sgt in his agency. Have we run into the local 1% club yes once they found out who we are we never had a problem but we don't associate with them unless we run into them at an event we are attending we stay out of their business and keep to ourselves.

I have been a Blue Knight for 23 years. 90% or more of our members are LE.
My understanding of a cop club is a club like the Blue Knights where you must be LE to join. However I just attended the 9/11 Memorial run in NYC put on by the Punishers LE MC. But the NY Punishers LE MC President is a Paramedic, how does that work ?? Wearing a LE Cube on a cut when your not LE ?? The lines continue to be blurred.

I always thought a cop club was one where you MUST be law enforcement (active/former/retired) to join.
I am a member of Centurions MC, a law enforcement club, and I believe we may be one of the oldest if not the oldest in the country. We've been around since 1973

Unfortunately when it came to feeding my 5 kids and paying my mortgage or paying club dues I had to leave the club. Feeding my kids was a bit more important. 3 years ago a operation that left me crippled stoped a lot of my riding. But I still get on it for a few short rides.
Honestly, my personal definition of a cop club is a club that is specific for LE personnel (active or retired) aka. Much like veteran MCs (not associations). MCs that have a few cops in it, to me, are not a LEMC but just a MC that happens to allow LE in it.

Brother I like your videos I am a VP in a chapter of iron Legacy MC. Your videos hit the nail right on the head brother. I work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and of course we don't where the le patch but it's funny how a lot of the clubs around call us a cop Club. They don't understand that clubs can be law-abiding and support law enforcement firefighters military and such. Just want to let you know keep up the good work on your videos

28 year cop, life long motorcycle rider.....motocoss, road, motor officer, instructor. I hate bad cops, love good cops; Not all 1% guys are bad, but I have always distanced myself so as to not tarnish my badge (thats the politics of it all). Lots of people hate cops just because they are cops.....its popular. Lots of people love 1% guys because they have no idea. Again, not all 1% guys are shits, but some are. I judge a dude by his ability to be an honest man and not commit crime. I hope people do that for me. I dont belong to a club, but am a biker and I will continue to run down the highways of America on my bike without the care of what people think of me
i've been on Both Ends, i was a Reserve PO in my youth and Navy MA and a private officer for Wells Fargo, but when i was just an Employee of Harley-Davidson (via Dealers) i got into the Club World Via a Support Club for 1 of the big 4, then Again for a Coalition Club, but because of my background i was never allowed to step up so i joined a Law Abiding club that was called a Cop Club and i was with then for 6 years until i Retired from all clubs, now i have 4-5 vests with my own patches not club but they look like it, in protest of certain clubs thinking they can dictate what people wear.

@@FingersFew i have police and fire all thru my family Brother cop in springfield ma, sister holyoke pd, another sister KCMO pd and her hubby KCMO pd for years and now local to KC Area Sheriff dept, my late mother was a dispatcher and i have an uncle and a cousin in fire depts, i tried following the family, but my love of motorcycles took over and i spent 40 years on and off with Harley-Davidsom via dealers and was a part of many clubs from AMA to 1% Support and Back Again, Now i'm a Retread and an unpatched member of Freedom Cruisers

As a retired LEO I have never been a big fan of ¨Cop Clubs¨ wearing a 3-piece patch (JMO). That said I know of a 3-piece patch wearing LE club on the west coast that do not try and blur the line between police clubs and 1%ers. They exist primarily to enjoy riding together, conducting a variety of charity runs, and basically do the right thing for the right reasons. They stay within the law and do not associate or attempt to mingle with 1%er clubs and stay away from bars and functions where 1%ers are known to congregate. They were approached by a highly known 1%er club about their 3 piece patch. A sit-down was done and once an explanation was given the 1%ers had no further issues with them. Unfortunately problems arise whenever non-thinking LE clubs make poor decisions and attempt to behave like 1%ers. We all know that never ends well. lol
My definition of a COP club would be all law enforcement officers or majority is law enforcement either active or retired. Im a patched member with the Souls Of Service LEMC in NC. We have a 1% club not to far from our chapters and basically the way it goes with us is we see one another we introduce our selfs and we leave it at that they dont associate with us or we dont with them but we have the mutual respect for there club as they do ours.

In my opinion, a “cop club” or LEMC is a club that is LE friendly (welcomes them into the ranks) and holds a lot of the values that police should have. Service to the community, honesty, integrity, etc.

To me, Cop Clubs/M.C. is sharing the love of riding with fellow Officers and also a Comoriety with each other. As far as wearing black leather vests and cuts? That's just the Biker fashion, and I remember back in the day Police officers used to wear the heavy engineer black leather jackets in winter. Especially the Motorcycle Cops! This is nothing new.
If you want to be in a club as a cop, then play by the rules and start an RC or whatever.but don’t enter this culture if you aren’t going to respect it. And don’t disrespect it and then hide behind your badge because alot of real mfs do not care
Stumbled onto this broadcast and found it to be interesting and parallel to my take on your view! I am a Blue Knight & the NY State Rep. I see many LEMC’s that either walk a fine line or have one foot on each side. That being said, my personal take on this is the influence of media & the likes of Sons of Anarchy et al. We were founded in 1974 when most LEO’s wore light blue uniform shirts & some still do, especially in other countries! Currently, we are permitted by International By Laws to wear Black or Dark Blue along with the original light blue vest. We are extremely family oriented which I believe is a large part of our attraction to like minded LEO’s. I recently watched a broadcast by Black Dragon TV about LEMC’s. Interesting as well. Morals & values have receded in our country over the last couple generations, causing new LEMC’s to pop up almost every day it seems! Without some elder guidance or the rearing of a good parents, a dash of good old American values, our young LEO’s are at a greater risk of being influenced by their Vigilante heroes in movies or such! The lines are blurred now and movies have audiences rooting for the outlaw to win. We need to un-blur the lines and have some clean living heroes, who don the uniform & possibly swing their leg over the seat to ride on two wheels and still be the tough guy when required! I mean, cop-friendly doesn’t necessarily mean cop-exclusive. I would think that for a club to be considered a “Cop Club” then being law enforcement (current or former) would be a prerequisite for membership. I’ve never been part of a club, but I did 15 years in law enforcement, so I’m looking at this scenario through that lens.
You said it best. We are supposed to be free people in a free Country. After that, I find it Amusing that groups of bikers that claim to be against law and order, decide to institute law and order on other clubs. A good Cop Club will leave other clubs alone and it would be good policy to return that favor. At the end of the day the Law Enforcement clubs have access to way more people and tools to settle issues. Respect all and Fear none.

I think the point was that they aggressively went after him, and he was found not guilty. As apposed to, the DA looking the other way because he had a badge.
An good example of a Cop Club is, WARTHOGS MC. All members are First Responders, but predominantly Cops. Some Chapters allow non-Cops, but not over 10% of their members. A lot of charity stuff is Benevolent related. And we wear a 3-piece patch.

Hey Pooch Shots?, Do you know the history of the Warthogs MC? The Wild Pigs MC split into 4 different LEO clubs in 1999. Warthogs, Renegade Pigs, Iron Pigs, Punishers. So basically the Warthogs are just an extension of the Wild Pigs MC. I know what I'm talking about. I ran the Wild Pigs MC from 1993-1999. Just for information purposes only. Ride safe.

Sorry, Gotta ask this question, I ride a 1200 sportie, am I looked down at for riding this? It's actually a lot of fun in the city, modified pipes, nice and loud.
There's plenty of opinions out there. Would a club look down? Truthfully, probably not. They'll probably point out some of the short comings of a sporty in club life but I don't think they would look down at you. In the biker world in general? There are so many people now days telling you about everything there is. "You're not a biker if you have a windshield", "you're not a biker if you wear tennis shoes", "only real bikers have baggers"... I loved my Sportsters. I still do. In my opinion the best engine HD ever made. Be you, be proud of your scoot and to hell with anybody else's opinion.
I rarely ride the Glide in the city and recently picked up a Roadster, stripped the pipes, seat and bars. V & H short shots pump up the volume on the best sounding motor HD ever made. It's about the ride brother, not about who's looking down (or up) on you. Live righteous and ride free! I've been involved with 'puter nets since before IP but didn't have a personal SM account until about 5 years ago. Every time I pop in for a look-see, it never changes... experts and know-it-alls laying down the law for everyone else. Riding 100mph in a straight line doesn't impress me. Anyone whose taken a motor officer course can spot a joker a mile away. Better a good rider on a 1200 EVO than a duck walker on an Ultra. Ride safe and enjoy your motor. Oh, and dare I say it? A true LE club would be like the Blue Knights who are unlikely to associate,challenge or feel threatened by a 1% club. The term "cop club" sounds a bit slanglike & derogatory. There are some that project an "outlaw" image and are LE at the same time this causes problems with 1% clubs, on duty police & the general public. If your going to be an "outlaw" then be one. If you're LE and like to ride don't adopt an "outlaw" persona. Show all your cards so there's no confusion. Then you have "blue-collar" folk in "outlaw" clubs who are "regular guys" but are accepted because they are "stand-up" brothers. They need to keep in mind that they may have to support the more felonious club members or else don't get involved after all they're telling you that they're "outlaw".

Great video. The question in my mind, is how many of the protocol enforcing commenters here are kids trying to be keyboard commandos? Kind of like playing Xbox and some ten year old kid is insulting your mother. Bikers are bikers and that’s it. Some are criminals and some are cops, who cares? I’m a retired LEO, I’ve worked UC as a biker, and even I don’t want to join a 100% cop club. The guys who wear the LEMC patches might as well be wearing a uniform, because everyone pays attention to everything they do. If that’s your thing, ride on. If you want to join a 1%er club and run the risk of a RICO hit, go for it. This is the United States of America and we still have a First Amendment.

All members, except honorary members (determined by a percentage of the total number of members in a chapter), are retired law enforcement officers.
Formed in 1974, and worldwide, one doesn't need to ride the bike of any specific manufacturer.

Hey fingers To have a cop club, it would be OK if riding and close friendship somewhere to associate with like friends that’s OK when they cross the line, want to be tough guys and go to bars talk smack then there’s a problem Someone may want to knuckle them up then the badge comes out that’s bullshit, Drop the badge drop your gun run what you Brong and Knuckle up show some heart, if you get the worst of it lesson learned.🕶
100% agree. When I picked up a gun and badge, I knew what I was signing up. The same goes for a club patch, you have to understand the obligations.

Been riding with a cop club for many years. Never had a problem with an outlaw club . Then again never went looking for trouble. Even when we had these guys locked up .
They're always interesting characters . At the end of the day there's no hard feelings. We play for different teams . Just the way it is .
Going undercover, befriending these guys and then sending them to jail ? Well don't know if I could do that. That's some pretty cold shit.

Here's the one problem with cops. When I go to friends parties they can get crazy. I won't wear my patch as not to associate what happens with my club. But if cop is there when drugs come out or girls cut loose. He's put in an awkward position does he uphold the law or turn a blind eye. I don't want to put him or I in that position. I know what I am and I make no apologies for it. But I don't want a cop taking notes or having to turn his back on an oath he took. I took no such oath. One percenters are putting pressure on everyone about cops with any patch. People should think hard before putting any patch on and be careful where and when they wear it.
Scotty - Now that's something I understand. Using your scenario, the cop should too. When things get crazy, the cop should be the first saying "I'm out, you guys have fun." That way it relieves all the pressure for everyone. I know some "cops clubs" that as soon as the 1%er club(s) rolls in, they roll out. I'm trying really hard not to call any one club out or appear to put a club in bag light.
A cop club to me is a club where all the members are involved in law inforcement in one kind or another
Such as city police officers , state troopers, prison guards, jail guards and sheriff deputies
My club probably has more members who are not and never were cops. Not all LEMCs are the same.
My opinion, a cop has a constitutional right, like any other citizen to be a part of a MC. Out of service and in their private lives, they can ride motorcycles with their friends and partners like any other citizen. In my opinion, the MC’s, they play fair, they’re honest and they’re clearly telling the other clubs, "Hello I am also from a motorcycle club, but just know that we are police, in my colors you see that we are police, we go from front and we play clean, we are not a club 1%, because the regulations of the police and the law prevent us" The LE MC, do not want to compete with clubs 1%, I think they just live in another dimension and if you respect me , I respect you.

Cop Motorcycle Clubs? Now that's something to be afraid of.
Personally, I think anybody on two wheels and a passion for riding should be treated with respect, as they are brothers and sisters of the road. I personally, like riding fast, and hard, with no fucks given to speed limits or care what others think of me. Don’t think I could join my local clubs, due to my work currently, but I respect them and have met some, and think they’re cool as fuck. I’d try and hangaround if I could. But, since I’m a CO, I don’t think I’d be allowed. Either way, patch or no patch, LEMC or Outlaw MC, we’re all brothers and sisters of the open road in my eyes, and all deserve respect. 🤘🏼🤘🏼👊🏻✊🏻

I have a question about military clubs and 1%ers ... So when I lived in san Antonio there use to be a club called the green knights ... All military club 3 piece patch ... How do 1% clubs look soon those guys .. Are they sniches and other stuff to .. Or they respected and allowed
Kyle - As with any club (or individual) it's about how you conduct yourself and treat others. Most of the military clubs have the respect but it's due to knowing how to conduct themselves more than just being in the military.

Many years ago I belonged to the Blue Knights but after a couple of years I dropped out. It wasn't My Idea of a bike club, it was more a social club.
no issues with anyone wanting to ride at all ever, but the law should always tell people who and what they are even if they aren't working "they are working" and the rule still applies (I don't answer question's) don't go to people acting like you want to be friends.
I'm an Aluminate'a religious man. I think you make a good point that there's good and bad people in all walks of life. I personally think fighting over patches is kind of rediculous but it is what it is. I think a cop club would be a club exclusively for cops. As far as any club goes unless they're involved in criminal activity why would they mind having a cop in it?

I can't speak for all cop clubs, but the one I'm prospecting for requires 2/3 of the membership be cops of one sort or another. The other 1/3, well that's where I am. Just a regular, (mostly) law abiding guy. I think this is the case with quite of few of the LEMC's
My definition of a cop club is a club that has been started by cops , they have cops at the table for church , or even allow KNOWN cops to be involved ( KNOWN COPS meaning NOT INFILTRATED ,BUT ACCEPTED IN ) as prospects to be eventually a full member and such. But I also think that if they are cops it should be KNOWN by one and ALL by way of a patch or badge on their kutte , in order to keep the wear of both sides ( OUTLAW CLUBS OR NOT , COP CLUBS OR NOT) from having any problems with each other ( or having to turn on their BROTHERS IN LEATHER )
Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs do wear a patch on there cut it's an LE patch usually located on the left side of the cut or centerpiece

I just subscribe and ill be watching your videos. I have a small question for you that makes me thing all the time. After WW2 it was mostly vets that came in herds to join 1% clubs or should i say start these clubs. Now many law enforcement guys are also veterans. With that said in NY many 1% will see military patches and see a LEMC patch. What do you think is their view on that. Thank you.
Honestly, A true 1%er is easy to determine. They don't talk smack, they do it. They don't puff up without cause, but when they do, it's with reason and intention. With that said, too many of the younger guys are not following the old time traditions or have never been taught the old ways.
Two vets meeting up (doesn't matter what side of the law) will always share that common ground. There's generally a healthy dose of respect knowing what each has gone through. It doesn't mean they'll agree on any certain situation that may be occurring in the present. So knowing each has veteran status brings things to a more stable, more level playing ground. If it doesn't, then it's a character flaw of one of the two (doesn't matter what side of the law).

I think its clear that most lemc want to do their own thing and been around for just as long. Nobody wants to mimic anyone not in my club at least. We M.C completely different and have different agendas. But i see and understand what your saying. I know many one percenters up in northern NY and its mostly hello and good bye and mutual respect.
@@g-man1272 - trust me, I think LEMC are great as long as they have good intentions and stay away from trying act like anything they are not. I believe many of the LEMCs are closer to the original clubs that came out of post WWII. I personally think it's great.

Does that refer to the attitude of LEMCs or one-percenters?
I am a member of an LEMC. I think clubs that wear the LE tab and have a required majority percentage of LE members, should be considered a "Cop club". My club requires 80% LE. Mt club displays the LE tab. We don't pretend we're something we are not. The LE tab, the badge (2 actually) in our patch, the blue color in our patch, clearly identify us as LE. I think all LE clubs that don't wear the LE tab and don't otherwise identify CLEARLY that they are LE, are wannabe pretenders who want to live in two very different worlds. Posers on both levels.
There are also clubs that "allow" LE as members technically, but members who don't want cops in their chapter, so they don't get in.

In my opinion (i am European based), a "cop club" is a club with some rule that all members have to have, or had, a job in some sort of LE.
I was President of a large MC that had about 10% cops as member and 90% military or civilians. That club was just a MC, no cop club.

I’m a member of an LE/MC. My personal opinion is that in order to be an LE/MC you have to have a percentage of LE members requirement in your by-laws, and I think it should be at least 50% +1. If you are flying an LE tab but have no requirement for anyone to actually be LE, then, to me, you are false flagging and misrepresenting yourselves as something you’re not. Just my own 2 cents. To me it’s the same as wearing a military uniform with all kinds of ribbons and medals but are not in the military!
Here's the issue I have with cop clubs. I'm a Officer in one of the biggest cities in the U.S
We have a few "blue" clubs here. Which is fine. But when favoritism takes over and you only help out your other brothers from the club and not your partners that's the issue.

I think an LE club is the only true cop clubs and though that doesn’t mean they’re infallible just LEO exclusive. Clubs that don’t discriminate against police are just motorcycle clubs and clubs are made up of all sorts of people. I personally think LE clubs are showing themselves more closed off than a 1% club. I recall hearing a 1%er say his club wasn’t a criminal organization but maybe an organization that had criminals in it and I think that’s more open door than a club that is exclusively for police. Does it matter? No. You have to be a mason to be a Widows Son and that’s exclusive to them. Any club requires you be weighed and measured. That’s part of why you’d even want to associate with that organization. They set themselves separated from the mainstream

Nothing against cops cause we need them to serve n protect but the tradition should be followed just like other clubs do. If wear the 3 piece patch without following protocols then your club is not recognized as an MC.

Oh, I don't know about that. The IOMC started out doing their own thing and asked permission from nobody in 2004 and they are still around in 2023. It would appear that at least from 2004 you can in-fact do what you want, when you want in the MC world. just sayin'

Personally, although i’m no expert, my opinion is that a club cannot have it both ways. Just as it’s a serious offense to impersonate a police officer, to me, it’s a serious ethical breach to impersonate a 1%er if you’re law enforcement (of course this doesn’t apply to undercover operations.).
1% lifestyle is by definition, those that live outside the law; why would a police officer in good conscience, try to mimic that lifestyle, unless that’s what they really are on the inside? I get the thing about “freedom”, which is why i’m not a member of a club. I like riding when I feel like it, and not answering to anybody.

Robert Moore , I Respect and understand your perspective. It can certainly look as though “ most cops are bad”, to anyone who’s never been on the inside of law enforcement, and the reason is plain: that’s what makes the evening news - “bad cops.” They don’t print the stories about the cop who shoveled the widow’s sidewalk in winter, or the cop that DIDN’T KILL the deranged man with a gun, or the cops who saved drug dealers from being executed By hitmen sent to rob them. Those stories go unreported. Why? Because nobody cares - that’s just “a cop doing what he’s paid to do.” So consequently, You ONLY see the “bad cops.”
I respect you . And I have known some very good officers . Had one that was a uncle by marriage very good guy and a good cop . He quite the county because of corruption. Works for a city now . He gave his wife a ticket for driving on a suspended license. He arrested a few of my wife's cousins for Dui's. He does his job family does not get you a pass . I can respect a officer like that .ihad a sheriff of the county I grew up in .he was a great cop . He would not bust you for dumb shit unless you just kept doing it . He got me for eluding on my dirt bike . After about a dozen warnings . No hard feeling to that man . I deserved to get my ass arrested after bieng warned do much . Last time I did that . I would cut n haul hay onmhis land for him still . He treated me the same as always . That's just a couple. I know there's a lot of the town I live . But other towns in the area not do much lol . Been arrested for freaken jogging . I have ADHD so I have to be on drugs lol. Anytime I get pulled over or they see me anywhere there on me like flies . I've never had a drug charge in my life . Funny thing is if the drug task force cops show up they get pissed n tell them yo cut me loose n leave me be . Funny they can tell the difference not the regular patrol officers lol. Any way I respect good cops but assholes not so much lol. But I respect your stand and did not mean to disrespect you.
And I grew I don't for the life of me understand why anyone would want yo be in a 1 percenter club . Dead ,jail worse not a great life . I grew up knowi g a few of them and no way I would want that life . Love the bikes ride a Harley everyday . But the look or the life nope I am good .

Honestly I never thought of there being a "cop club ". I have riden a Harley most of my life. Always been a lonely wolf as they say. Now that I have retired I still ride as a "lone wolf". But have been thinking of becoming a friend or bonding to a club if possible. Depending on what kind of a club it turns out to be. Also thinking of getting a new trike just because I am getting to be a %*$ coot. I am sorry did I say that out loud.
I believe like you do, "Freedom for all". LEO's like to ride too and gather as brothers. In some cases I would say the comradery is better in these clubs than most. Not sure why the Iron Order was even mentioned since it has become an unrecognizable organization but their ranks have blurred extremely badly because their founders split and created an even larger and much more recognizable MC.
The only reason I mention that club by name is because so many "outlaw clubs" like to say they are a cop club because they allow LE in the club. Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback.
