Joe Cocker was an AMAZING Artist. What a Soulful, Powerful Voice.
This is what makes Joe a once in a lifetime artist. He was never technically perfect, but it's never mattered. The emotion he can convey wins out over technicalities every time. You feel every thing he wants you to feel and it's remarkable. Not everyone can do that and it's really incredible when you can find someone that has such a grasp of that power.

My favorite is Feelin Alright. Joe's soulful singing. Leon Russell's piano. A time and place for me that goes deep.
I saw him live in a hotel nightclub on Miami Beach 50 years ago which had the windows open because it was packed. By the time the set ended there were hundreds of people surrounding the club and on the beach. He kept on going and lengthened the set by 40 minutes because of the cheering and hollering from that non-paying crowd. He is amazing and unique
Less than three minutes in, my blood pressure has dropped about 30 points, even though I've heard it a hundred times. Gawd! Nobody other than Janis Joplin ever sang a song as thoroughly as Joe Cocker sang songs.

I think they found Joe Cocker at a Karaoke bar (or whatever compared in England back in the 60's) and made him a star against his will. He belted other people's songs without any regard for his own mental or physical health. Truly captivating performer.
Another unexpectedly soulful experienced voice I would recommend for you is Leonard Cohen singing "Dance Me To The End Of Love". I'm not sure if you have heard it before, but I think you will enjoy it.
