glad your asics are still going strong. I've tried asics but they're not wide enough in the toe box for me. I can only get away with saucony (which are a bit "too" cushioned, ie they slow me down a lot! puma faas and new balance. I go for the lowest number in Faas, which relates to lighter and less support, for races or fast intervals, and wear the workhorse new balance 860 v7 for the majority. they keep my feet supported and injury-free, but at a slight cost to speed. There is a big difference in my speed when I'm wearing the pumas, it's like I'm running barefoot, but I'm aware that they are not as supportive and try to limit their use. another good thing about the pumas it's that they are very cheap, i just hope they don't stop making them!! god knows what I'd do then!
Oh wow sounds like you have a great selection to go through there! Interestingly enough I use ASICS due to the fact that I need a wide toebox as my feet are so big and i've only ever had an issue once....they have width options as well on some shoes so I always choose the wide ones!
I’ve used ASICS GT 2000 3, Kayano 23, Gel-DS 22 and they’ve lasted just under 400 miles for me. My issue is I need support shoes and the ankle support tends to go before the actual shoe does. Currently running in Brooks GTS 18 and Hoka Arahi’s. The Hoka’s are probably the best shoes I’ve ever had. They feel amazing on road and light off-road surfaces. I‘ll definitely give more a go in the future. The Brooks are okay and felt a lot better when I bought them, but barely got 100 miles on them so far. Slightly concerning!
Bryan Urizar ah yes James has just bought a pair of the Arahis for the same reason as you, he’s waiting to try them out, he will be pleased to hear they are super! It’s funny isn’t it, some shoes last a long time and others don’t, I always base a “good” shoe on how much mileage you can get out of them so the brookes will be interesting to see how much you get from them 🤨
How do you find the level of arch support offered by Phoenix 9? I've run with the 7 for close to 900km and found them to be excellent in terms of stability.
I must admit the arch support was OK....not great but OK...it certainly wasnt flat neutral like the roadhawk ff2 but now im in the gt-2000 6's which are a "stability shoe", I can feel the difference so I would personally put the phoenix 9s right in the middle to be honest
karl that’s interesting to hear! Sometimes you have to compromise I guess on how long they last if they are an awesome shoe.... it’s worth that compromise!
You make me feel guilty for having so many running trainers! I think a racing flat would be a worthwhile investment for you for the fast days though...
On my 5th pair of asics just got an end of line phoenix 9 after seeing this review. For everyday running they are great and reasonably priced too.
Awesome, yes I think in my local asics outlet shop they are £39 in this colourway, amazing value for money for a daily trainer!!
Thanks for the reviw. Considering buying this shoe
Sweet thanks for the review I just bought a pair it's god to know you like them so much .
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Will test mine tomorrow. thanks for the review. cheers
Awesome, good luck!

yes, I suppose I could go for the men's! tend to be a bit masculine on the colouring though!
Loved this review. It's great to see how well they are holding on
Thank you, yes they are doing really well thankfully!
