ZL1 Bumper Conversion Guide - 2010-2013 Camaro

- If you're looking to change up your 5th Gen Camaro at all, checkout this ZL1 conversion option. From just the bumper to the full ZL1 look, today you can pull off the transformation for not that much money. The OEM kit from Gen5DIY is just under $1,500 shipped and pain is another $400ish. Overall allowing this mod to drastically change your ride for under $2,000 with actual GM OEM parts. Did I mention you can also get the cowl lines to match your SS hood?... yeah!
This video will highlight the way I did the ZL1 conversion using the Gen5DIY kit.

This looks great, I am looking for a 5th gen but don’t feel like dropping an extra 20k for a zl1 just because I like the front.
While we installed the stock SS grille in this video, we have some additional upgrades to fully complete the ZL1 conversion. While they are not required, they will 100% help with the look and feel. Stay Tuned!!! Also.... Lowering springs.... we need them in our life!

What do you mean?
The lower grill is ZL1 bumper specific.
I'll answer it simply. Top is the same. The bottom is Zl1 specific.
Do you know where to get the back piece for the top fog light or the part number

i hope you answer to this, but at 8:26 the black plastic piece that came off the ss fog light, do you know the name of it? i have the LS trim and my bunper doesn’t come with it because i dont have fog lights

also question, did you experience any flexing in the paint on the new bumper when you did the install? any spider web cracks or anything like that? that would be my only concern with having it painted but doing the rest of the labor myself. can do the bumper pull off but am concerned over the paint. much appreciated video!!
I see why body shops don't like the older classic camaro. You can't just snap it into place. It requires some skill these new cars don't. LOL

The adjust the bumper so the cowl lines match. Hood isn’t touched

Looks good. Just get that little harness to bypass the fog lights so you can use the fog lights with the halo lights.

Yes, the small lights are the fogs, the others are DRLs

Matt nice video but I have a question. I noticed when your dad drove the car into the driveway that the drl's were on which is normal but how do you turn the lower lights under the drl's on. Do they come on with the headlights or is there a separate switch you didn't tell us about. I believe the 45th came with RS package so it wouldn't have the separate fog light switch that the SS's and LT's w/o the RS package.
They turn on with the headlights
You can get the ZL1 controller and wire them to turn on with a button push. It’s possible but cost $100 in BCM/HMI update

on the 2014-2015 camaro ss 2ss and RS have the same headlights as the ZL1. the HD with the led halo drl.

Led white fog and headlights is a must ‼️
That’s what I’m running. The only thing that sucks is when one of the LED running lights get dem over time. Now I have to replace both of them. They lasted me since 2012.

It's his dad's car - he's an elder chap rollin a V8 muscle car - I think he's good on power. Most guys his age are driving Buicks or Cadillacs .
