- Bunny Punia and Ajeesh Kuttan conduct a fuel economy test on the newly launched Maruti S-Presso hatchback. This was the automatic or the AGS model. The car was driven for 170km at speeds ranging between 70-75 km/h. The air-con was in use mildly too.
This is what an Automobile channel should do , test cars extensively.

My 2 Month old Spresso ran 2300km and gave me around 16-18km in City. Happy with it.

Read about ARAI test details. Its not at all ideal, but very complicated using lot of speed changes. Search it.

I request you kindly perform all your fuel economy runs with 80 to 90 km/h speed as most of the indian highways have a bracket speed limit of 80 and with AC on as most of your fuel economy runs done are on highways....

Attained 29kmpl on an early morning drive on a two lame road in Kerala for about 155 kms with 175mm upsized tire.
So this isn't look unbelievable.

Astar has no AMT gearbox.

actually both times some amount of petrol overfilled so it might took 5.80 - 5.90 liter petrol to cover 170 kms.

Speed I maintain 75-80. Sometimes 100kmph
Do it with elite i20 ...not a economy run but a regular day to day ...run in city plus highway...
I'm owning i20 and I'm getting milage of 15-16 in mixed city plus highway...40% to 60% respectively..
N pure highway stretched i suprisingly get ..19.2kmpl..petrol

You are a very good driver and all your tests give very good results. Realistic figures may be derived as:
1. Average driver
2. Worst city in the world to drive in Kolkata
3. One driver and two passengers
4. New Spresso manual with 1100 on odometer
5. Fuel economy in Kolkata proper 13 km per litre
Excellent car, manueverable and peppy. Comfortable and good views of decrepit kolkata roads, littered with police furniture. Far, far more value for money than big bloated SUVs that arent SUVs in Kolkata. As there are no highways in West Bengal, I will not be testing the car outside the city unless all other drivers are banned. That is called being safe. Its bad enough in the city where kolkata drivers believe they are geese as they honk their way across the city.
Small car with one person giving 28kmpl is less. If 4 persons are there it will drop less than 25km
Even 25 kmpl is also great mileage

That is possible because I get 21km/l in my Swift 1.2GL AMT and I don't drive slow. This 1.0l engine should have even a better furl economy because it displaces only 1.0l and has been re engineered for better fuel economy.
Will buy only Honda car. Why Honda India not coming with small car with powerful engine(both petrol/diesel). Never buy any other car/bike than Honda.

No that's fake 18 in highway in city 13 I'm using both manual and automatic both are same in mileage
