    Awesome! Jeff, what were you using for a wash sponge? Looks like it had a handle mount. Didn’t see it in the links. Have a great weekend!

      That was an old T-shaped washer actually meant for windows, but it has a thick nap so I use it for reaching roofs of cars and trucks. My friend was using the standard Meguiars thick nap wash mitt.

      I still couldn’t do it. You may be able to get away with it not “scratching” the paint. But the truck is also not in the sun, after being dried. There is no way you can touch the paint, without getting some degree of swirls marks. Ceramic coat the vehicle, and blow the car off with an ego blower. It’s still my best solution.

    Drying towels are not inefficient I use both get the bulk of the water off then go in with the towel, but if you routinely wash your vehicle use some sort of hydrophobic product to make less water staying on the panels next time you go dry your ride

    I’ve been using the same California water blade for 10 years with no issues at all. The trick to making them last is taking care of them. You never want to just throw them into the bucket where something else is leaning against the edge damaging it always take care of it, and never leave it just sitting in the sun just use common sense and it will last you for a long long long time

    Geez the California one really went up in price! I've had mine for probably 8yrs or so, was like $10 maybe 11 or 12 at wallyworld. I haven't seen them much for a while now. Holy cow $30? About.
    It is awesome for drying your car, only way to go! Efficient, quick. I use a microfiber towel to get little edges & areas after/during

    Just an FYI, 400 series stainless steel is magnetic, while 300 series stainless steel is not. I don't know if the screws in the WeatherTech Waterblade handle screws are made of 400 series stainless steel or not, but being magnetic does not prove that they are not stainless steel, just that they are not 300 series stainless steel.

    This is so weird, as my 20yo "California Water Blade" looks EXACTLY like this WeatherTech blade, but my handle is black. Is there some sort of glitch in the matrix, or a buyout, or something?

    Bought Meguiars magnet cloth to dry car after seeing high reviews online. Worst car product I’ve ever bought! After a couple passes lint or other fibers were all over my car and small indentations everywhere. Was pissed! Should’ve bought one of these water blades instead.

    Isn't it a bit disingenuous to compare a new model WT Blade to the ORIGINAL California Water Blade (CWB)? The CWB I bought MANY years ago looks & performs just as the WT Blade you used in this video. A T blade with almost the same exact handle etc. Kind of curious.

    Been using these blades for over 20 years. California blade is the best get the original one with the red silicone handle. I’ve tried the hard handle it’s annoying and will damage your car eventually especially after washing multiple cars that hard back handle would just be in the way. Trust me when you use it you will know. WeatherTech is a great company. I have their mats in my vehicle , but they need to do a re-design on the handle. that handle is very bulky and will dent or scratch your car guaranteed I came to this channel just to see what was out on the market but again, I’m not impressed. I will be ordering a new California water blade coming from a real customer not payed. By the way the original ca blade has the T blade.

    They BOTH will scratch the crap out of your car. They are terrible regardless of what this guy says. Do not use them. Use a drying microfiber from autofiber or The Rag Company.

      You are completely wrong, we have been using these forever and they do not scratch. You must make sure you do an adequate job of cleaning your car. If you leave any grit behind on your paint, ANYTHING you do will cause scratches, including a towel, including your waxing of the car.

    • @barrycook8116
      @barrycook8116 Рік тому +1

      @@carbuying lol it’s been proven to scratch they are the worse things on the market. No sane detailer uses these.

    • @carbuying
      @carbuying  Рік тому +1

      @@barrycook8116 LOL, You say "Proven" but have not produced a link to a video showing it scratching, or a proper study showing it scratched. We showed you on video how neither of these blades were able to scratch the car. We deep cleaned the paint first which you should be doing when you wash your car anyway or you are likely to scratch it. This is why we also use the 2-bucket method for washing.
