My poulan pro wouldn't start either, moments after running it in earlier session without problems. Four month old battery. Left on charger overnight, said full. Still, nothing. Found this video. Figured I'd give it a try. Wire brushed terminals, reconnect, boom! Fired up no problem! Thank you so much for saving me a trip to the shop that surely would have tried to sell me on all sorts of electrical "fixes".

If the connections are good, check fuses next. Make sure they have continuity

Thank you! Should have googled this prior to buying a new battery. Least I didn't take the mower in for repair.

Please try this first, I didn't even have a lot of corrosion on the posts (not nearly the amount of the video), but when I cleaned them off it started like a champ.

Had an issue with my Snapper 12.5HP starter. Was getting ready to go buy a new battery. Decided to buy a cheap 3amp charger at Walmart. Charged the battery up to 100%. Then I cleaned the connectors off with WD and a wire brush and started up like a wild dog. Good tips. Fortunately Snappers are really easy to work on.

My pushmower electric starter spins the engine but it like doesnt have enough to make it start the battery is full and i oiled the bendex

If you've got a full battery and it's spinning but not starting, it's either not getting fuel or air. Start with cleaning your air filter...good luck.

@@DANDLINC it has spark air and fuel but i feel like that the starter just doesnt have so much power to spin it more powerfuly

TIPS: After putting on your Battery Terminal Connections, put some " Dielectric Grease " around the Terminals. This will help with corrosion through time. If you don't have it, you can actually use " Vaseline " to do it as well.

2nd the dielectric grease, just smear it on the post, washers, nuts, and bolt with your fingers after you've taken connections off and cleaned post completely.

appreciate your efforts to produce this video BUT a recording of exactly WHAT the sound was you were attempting to fix would have been great. Yes, is an "after thought" moment, but will help viewers to select your video over others BECAUSE the problem sound was recorded and presented in your video before an attempt to show the viewer how to fix the problem AND what caused the symptom. I had this "clickity sound" but not just a single click. So I watched it all and it did help some. Again, any more videos "must have" a sound recording of the symptom BEFORE fixing it. Thanks again for your efforts.

Lol. You don’t need a brush..... if you keep a proper refrigerator, you have a box of baking soda in their. Pile some on the terminal and dribble a little water on it until it’s completely wet and watch it eat the corrosion.

it would have been so much better if you would have included a before video, showing us what it sounded like, cause im having an problem, when i turn my key, it makes a click, click click click sound, after watching videos, when you turn the key and if you hear only one Click each time you turn the key then its the solenoid, i have 12.30 amps on my battery but its still making the muli clicking sounds has i turn the key. Now if i place my hand on the solenoid i can feel the clicking.

an old mechanics trick for you my friend. chew up some gum. stick it to the battery between the posts. stick a penny on the gum. the penny will now corrode before your post bolts do.
