      Hey if its bad you can adjust the centre point by manual calibration so lower deadzones will avoid it.

    K-silver should have use a thicker and a stronger material for the spring.
    They maybe worry about the stick tension but theirs is still a lot less than normal alps stick despite very similar set up so could totally change out for a better spring and problem solved.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  4 місяці тому +2

      So I was able to put the alps spring inside the JH16, but the result was a bad one as alps spring is a bit taller. I do think we can change the spring if we can find a right size one. I think now that they’ve managed to get so much business, we might see modules with different strengths from different makers using Ksilver sticks. I haven’t come across anyone with a broken spring yet and definitely testing the longevity on my G7se with kontrolfreeks to see how long it’ll last.

    I have x2 dualsense controllers from early 2021 so they're the launch models and recently one of them got awful drift 16/12 % errors on L/R sticks with the left stick pegged to the far left. The other controller is about 6% error on both sticks and is still usable. I'm going to clean them both with some wd40 electronic spray and only use them for games that actually take advantage of the dualsense haptic rumble feature really well which at this point is probably only a couple games you can count on one hand.
    I just recently got the G7 SE and it's crazy how good this controller is for less than $50. I seriously do not understand how Sony for example can charge $200 for their edge controller with regular pot sticks that drift in no time, then they sell $20 stick replacements that aren't even in stock. I would have ponied up the money for the edge controller if it had hall sensors but nah. I paid $200 for a HE 75% keyboard and they want to sell me a controller for $200 that using the same sticks a regular dualsense ships with, that's insane.

      I think once Alps release their own HE modules, that’s when Sony will implement those. Getting Sony to use ditch a Japanese supplier for a Chinese one might be difficult, although they’ve worked with Favorunion in the past, so it might happen they use one of their modules. The question is how long it’ll take for Microsoft and Sony to implement these.

      Hey so initially I was worried about JH16 as they are being used in very affordable,and also in very expensive controllers. I can personally say that I’m not that concerned about them anymore after seeing how they’ve been made.
      Apex 4 sticks look truly amazing and I definitely want to check it out, but currently I’m on console only. I’m trying my best to build a pc but I need to build a small form factor one, and they get really expensive for a normal build. Once I do get a pc then yes I’ll be definitely testing all those amazing controllers, until then only licensed Xbox controllers.

    The G7 SE has a super floaty feel from the software smoothing, but so does the standard XBOX controller. I'm a fan of the feel of the modules, and the resolution, but not the software smoothing.

    • @GregRosolowski
      @GregRosolowski 4 місяці тому

      @Almightydubzz tried both. Raw mode isn't actually raw. It just boosts the analogs output and adds a slightly squared outer deadzone.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  3 місяці тому

      Hey so HE sticks do feel a bit different and I have to say if it wasn't for the 1000hz I'd still be using the EswapX over it. In my latency tests G7se only get competitive in 1000hz and it's towards the slower side in 250hz. Personally I've grown to like that lose equal tension of the Ksilver sticks, but the Favorunion and C&K can feel better.
      If you find G7se still a bit hesitant, then try using xbox plastic replacement thumbsticks, the shaft is thicker and once calibrated to them the G7se reduces the resolution from .56 per increment to .78, this can give you a quicker response per increment and makes the controller feel a bit different. I've started using the normal sticks again as I can keep the deadzones to 1 in game, and all my drift is towards the bottom which I personally prefer.

      Hey so any controller with even a little game time won’t come back to the exact centre value of 0.00002, unless there are some deadzones used. Mine has a slop and stays with 3-4% register and that’s actually a very good result.

    my victrix gambit has gotten worse and now has what i would call extreme stick malfunction/jitter.... or some other issue.... somehow using my left stick also affects the jitter or "ghost movements" of the the right stick. have you seen this before?

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  4 місяці тому +2

      Hey bro, so I’ve seen those jitters on my well used unit at times, but doing the calibration helped a lot. Over time the potentiometer sticks do lose tension as the wiper and track gets old.
      One way to see your issue would be a circularity test, it should be higher than 8-9% but doing the calibration should bring it down to 8-9%. The ghost movement of the right stick is very strange indeed as sounds like some of internal issue. Is the movement so high that it’s picked up in game as well? Or is it just shown whilst testing on the web?

    • @shycreation9418
      @shycreation9418 4 місяці тому +1

      Seems the problem had to do with the "wiper and track" thing on the side of the potentiometer u mentioned. So thanks for the tip. I took a knife and pried the tops of the orange square plastic pieces away from the module, recalibrated, and its back down to normal smooth inputs with 9.8%ish circularity. Perfect deadzones, and no jitter....... Before I tried prying that orange piece, I had tried recalibrating a bunch of times with no effect.
      So I'm assuming that piece is just wore to much or perhaps it had debree in it? And prying it away created a new path of connection (temporarily I assume)? The top of the orange plastic I pried isnt even close to being fully against the module so Idk how its even working but it is... As far as how the left stick input was affecting the right, I have no idea. But like u said, maybe that was only happening in gpt for some reason? I didnt get to see if it was in game, but it was pretty dramatic in gpt. Moving the left stick would move the right like a 1/5th way to full lock

    I think all sticks that are yellow inside are not comparable to the durability of the alps
    I got the thrustmaster e swap x and after 1 year, my left stick registers an completely diagonal 100% input, so my character is always running to the right
    Also on the victrix sometimes I read people complaining that their right stick is getting input by moving the LEFT stick
    Those are things that I’ve never heard from the green/blue alp sticks that are basically used in all ps4/ps5/edge controllers, all my PlayStation controllers that I’ve had always develop drift over months/years, yeah, but I’ve never had one case where it makes the stick unusable

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  2 дні тому +1

      @@EricTheButcher hey bro, C&K are exactly like the higher models of the favorunion ones. I’m not sure about the price, but usually all the cheap licensed controllers use favorunion’s cheaper sticks and we are seeing Ksilver JH16 being used even in cheaper controllers and really expensive controllers. There is another potential reason for this as well, and it might be that licensed controllers have to use the JH16, as none so far have used any other Hall effect from Gulikit and Favorunion. For the instance I was hoping the 8bitdo ultimate Xbox HE would use Gulikit like their previous version, but it’s using Ksilver JH16 as well, so definitely seems like an embargo sort of situation where licensed Xbox and Sony controllers only have Ksilver JH16 so far.
