Starting stalls would not be seen on a British racecourse until July 1965. First used in the Derby in 1967:and all flat races from the 1968 season onwards. The USA had already used them for years.
Larkspur s owner Raymond Guest s next Derby winner was one of the greats Sir Ivor , Lester rated very highly , he had a great turn of foot , my personal favourite Nijinsky the last Triple crown winner .
