2 things about this video: 1- my turtleneck is too thick for this suit. I grabbed the wrong one to shoot the talking part of this video. That makes my jacket look too small for me. SUIT MISTAKE! 2- not being political with the thumbnail. President Trump’s ties are just always too long :)
So Alex There are a few things wrong with this suit : First off, the shoulders are not the right size, the sleeves should be a centimeter or two lower, the bottom of the jacket should also be fairly lower. I work with menswear ,tailoring specifically and overall this looks more like a Zara fit than a classic and timeless suit. Do consider going a size up on the jacket
This is a problem with wearing a suit unless if you go to suit supply before recording the video. If you work out, a week of exercise may change the way a suit fits you.
I think the fit conforms to the latest styles. Everything looks a size too small. Jackets too tight and too short. Pants so tight you need stretchy material and too short like we're expecting a flood. Hard to find a comfortable relaxed fit. I hate the look and it's not a new look. This look was tried in the sixties and gave way to the funky seventies.
One more suit mistake that he didn't mention: man-made material All suits should be made of NATURAL FABRIC (i.e. wool, linen, silk, cotton, etc.)! Nothing says cheap like polyester, rayon/viscose, etc.
i am not a big fan of his turtle neck. Turtle necks and suits look bad to me. thats probably the one thing i disagreed with but thats just my opinion of course.

I am a classic dresser and I beg to differ on many points in this video. Point 1: A smart watch is perfectly fine. The important thing is the shirt needs to be made with a custom cuff to fit the watch underneath so it is only visible when it is used. Point 2: Leave stitching in pockets that you don’t use is fine. Point 3: Watch at 1:45 is way too big to be worn with the style of suit in the video. Point 4: Suit is TOO tailored. The Tom Ford look is popular now but it is very unforgiving. An extra sweater or a vest will throw the line of the suit off. Also, paints are too short. The paint legs should touch the top of the shoes so socks are not visible. Point 5: A thicker wallet is OK as long as the jacket has enough room to accommodate it. What is unsightly is the wallet creating a bulge such that the lapels do not lie flat against the chest. Point 6: Three button is fine - you only need to button the middle button. But a Tom Ford style jacket just isn’t long enough to accommodate three buttons. Point 7: Trump’s tie is not too big as long as his lapel width matches. Point 8: I’ve actually seen label left on jacket sleeve. I don’t care if it says silk or mohair it is not tasteful. Point 9: The Tom Ford highly fitted look might just be a passing fad. Especially that it has a tendency to expose shirt fabric above the belt buckle. Point 10: Pocket square tends to be pretentious unless for an evening formal affair.
Perfect advice. The "little black dress," is a requirement for women, but men wearing black should be headed for a funeral. Every man looks good in navy blue.
Good advice. It was refreshing to hear someone address how accessories impact. I would not opt for a DW watch though. In the same price ballpark it should be possible to pick up a Hamilton, an Orient or a Timex.
You saved me from wearing a smart watch with a suit😂😂 Good tip on the tightness if you sit down with it button the suit may rip because you’re applying too much force to it and it will be uncomfortable while if you sit with it unbuttoned it will be comfortable and save the it from ripping because while you sit the suit wraps around you if you unbutton it it won’t do that.

I bought several suits from Indochino. They are nowhere near well tailored suits. They provide a good base (especially if you`re looking for feature you won`t find on a rack) but their tailoring is sub par. I always have to take mine to my tailor (after Indochino`s tailor tried to fix their mess ups) to get the look I am going for.
Your video was both informative and engaging. I appreciate how you tackled it such a unique way. I've explored a parallel theme on Illicium London. Keep it up!
I couldn't differentiate between a good quality suit before I wore one. Armani. It's so good that I feel it would make others at work feel uncomfortable me wearing.
You’re making one the biggest mistakes in wearing a suit, with the bottom of your shirt and belt being visible under your suit jacket which draws attention to your crotch which is disadvantageous when wearing a suit. Your trousers should sit higher at your natural waist line so the shirt is not visible underneath where the jacket splits at your belt. This will create a nice seamless look.
It's all a matter of taste and style, when I had two suits cut by a French and an Italian tailor in France, they recommended to stay in the classic. The shoulder seams should match the shoulders angles or edge, the jacket should go all the way to the bottom of the buttocks, the back of the paints bottoms should be a little longer than the front so they seat nicely over the shoes, the jacket should be buttoned when standing or walking and opened when sitting. Finally the suit should be not too small to have maximum comfort and not look like you're wearing your little broter's suit. And always remember that trendy "à la mode" styles like those long pointy shoes, go out of style, a classic style never goes out!
@ 6:45 I gotta tell u your wearing a trendy suit now, with no break, the very narrow to super slim pants, and thin lapels. Overall it’s a super slim suit. I don’t think it’s all bad, I don’t feel every suit has to look like that. The suits that last the test of time are classic/modern style. Suits today have the look of the 60’s, everything is slim and tight!
Honestly I'm bad a huge fan or turtle necks but you make me want to try out a light grey or dark grey suit with a black turtle neck. It's looking very classy 🔥🔥
And its way too short as well. Cover your ass is a good rule of thumb:) But this seems to be a trend these days. Oh well, we will laugh at it in a few years from now. Just like we have done with other silly trends in the past.
You are yourself wearing a trending suit in this video. A modern suit, that is way too tight, wrinkles as you move your arms, and defines every muscle. A classic suit should fit like armor, meaning; it should be snug, but not tight, and it should drape well, without leaving creases.
I don’t like his style of dressing. He mentioned that he goes for a “timeless classic” look but his pants and jacket is too tight and modern for my taste. In other words, I think he is more interested in showing his muscles more than his style. Very trendy for my taste. I prefer the Cary Grant style.
Alex you have some good fashion style points in regards to the removal of the tags and wearing too many accessories and how to properly button a suit. I think wearing an apple watch is cool unless your are going on an job interview. I believe a mans suit should fit him comfortably with freedom of movement. I see many of you younger guys who like to wear your suits a little too tight fitting like you are trying possibly to show of your physique and guns (if you have guns). If and unfortunate situation were to arise where you have to defend yourself or your partner. That tight fitting suit is going to be somewhat of a hindrance. Before I even viewed your video I speculated that your fashion tips would not be all that serious . Why did I suspect that? It's was mainly do to your copy cat Robin Thicke hair style together with the beard. I bet good $ that when you are out in public that you see many male clones wearing that same exact hair style.
2 things about this video:
1- my turtleneck is too thick for this suit. I grabbed the wrong one to shoot the talking part of this video. That makes my jacket look too small for me. SUIT MISTAKE!

They provide a good base (especially if you`re looking for feature you won`t find on a rack) but their tailoring is sub par. I always have to take mine to my tailor (after Indochino`s tailor tried to fix their mess ups) to get the look I am going for.
Your suit is too small.
I really like your style
1:33 I'm not a ring guy but damn I really want that Sabre tooth tiger ring
Your video was both informative and engaging. I appreciate how you tackled it such a unique way. I've explored a parallel theme on Illicium London. Keep it up!
Thanks alex for this video next month is my farewell I really need that tips

What about matching the belt with the shoes?
Lendl Jet Leyba yeah he left that and making sure your shirt is tucked properly and to have the gig line lined up out.
Lendl Jet Leyba A big no, no! Good observation. You can tell who is attentive to detail.
Alex looks like a a Kingsman especially with the glasses
Hey Alex. Got any new lookbooks coming soon??
A smart watch is perfectly fine with a suit... honestly in a professional setting it makes you look even more professional.
what you are wearing is to a suit is like what jeggings is to jeans
Three was a time I used one. Now I do not care. T-shirt and jeans makes me happy:). Never the less it looks good
Changed the thumbnails eh...
Damn your suit is so tight I thought I was choking and I'm wearing a v-neck!!! 🤣😂
Knowledgeable handsome man in a good looking suit.
I was with him until 5:35 😂
Great video but one thing I don't agree with you is that Tie MOST MATCH PERFECTLY 👌
Those suits are badly tailored. Sleeves are way too tight and the shoulders are too narrow.
Watching you in the suit you're wearing reminds me that advice from a youtuber should always be questioned.
Can’t listen to a guy who looks like he’s grown out of his suit
Look at his pinned comment...
Honestly I'm bad a huge fan or turtle necks but you make me want to try out a light grey or dark grey suit with a black turtle neck. It's looking very classy 🔥🔥
Isn't that suit too snug? I felt uncomfortable looking at it. Don't gain any weight.
😂😂😂 me too.
Don't sneeze.
And its way too short as well. Cover your ass is a good rule of thumb:) But this seems to be a trend these days. Oh well, we will laugh at it in a few years from now. Just like we have done with other silly trends in the past.
3ayef
The very first thing I notice was the fit of your jacket.. then I looked at the comments, so yeah😂. You got that "do as I say, not as I do" 😂
You are yourself wearing a trending suit in this video. A modern suit, that is way too tight, wrinkles as you move your arms, and defines every muscle. A classic suit should fit like armor, meaning; it should be snug, but not tight, and it should drape well, without leaving creases.
@Zac Lodro It depends. I buy all my suits second hand.
ভাল লাগলো , অসাধারণ একটি ভিডিও ধন্যবাদ।

Timeless!!! I’ll start wearing a turtle neck with my suits then.😄

lol i saw it
Nice description of this subject .. I wearing suits every single day .. thanks
I think your jacket is a bit too small for you, ironically.
Very nice
It helped me with so many ways only thing I could say is thanks
