Anastasis, frontman of Dead Congregation said in an interview that this album is the best thing that happened to black metal since Mayhem's De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Just 10 minutes into the album, I get his point. Pure Swedish darkness, bleakness that breaks new ground for black metal. What was introduced in Devilry, is being perfected in Salvation. HAIL!

it's fucking hilarious when some people say that Daniel sucks as a vocalist just because they can't get over the fact that he replaced Legion. His voice is incredible, live and in studio, and he does masterpieces like this one.

This is my favorite black metal album by a long shot.
I prefer Fas Ite by DSO but this one is among the best BM albums I've heard too.
They've distilled the genre into something brutal & relentless. The essence of Black Metal. I fucking love this record.

Extremely unique lyrics and concept, different from the shallow drivel that you get from most Black Metal bands.
***** The way Daniel takes the crucifixion of the Logos (as a way to redeem the unredeemable), and also posing questions (or opinions) that mankind doesn't deserve it in the first place, makes this extremely special to me. The first track is about the Devil opposing the salvation of mankind, the second track is about the Divine Saviour accepting the consequence of redeeming mankind ( to be tortured, mutilated and crucified). The third track is about, despite God's attempt to save humanity, choosing Lucifer instead...

Ja z PL i tak prawde powiedziawszy nie rozumiem fenomenu tej kapeli, ktos mi wytlumaczy na czym on polega? Nie mowie tego, zeby obrazac czyis gust, pytam powaznie... Brak pomyslowych riffow, skrywany pod sciana dzwieku: gitary graja niemalze same "wypelniacze". Rozumiem, ze nie kazdy riff musi byc tak charakterystyczny i zlozony jak dajmy na to ,,Krig'' Gorgorotha i ze w kawalku robi sie pare wypelniaczy, ale mam wrazenie ze prawie cale Funeral Mist to wypelniacze i brak pomyslow (21:12, 39:30 wyjatki) . Perkusja tez malo pomyslowa, chaotyczna z ciaglymi drazniacymi zmianami tempa, pauzami i akcentami, muzyczne ADHD. Zanim sie rozwinie jeden motyw, juz wchodzi nastepny. I oczywiscie modne wokale z przepony, ktore juz na dobre opanowaly scene BM zwlaszcza w Polsce i mam wrazenie, ze malo kto juz pamieta ze mozna spiewac (i spiewalo sie) w Black Metalu inaczej. Jednoczesnie mam wrazenie ze sluchanie Funeral Mist jest czyms w rodzaju stawiania sie na wyzszej pozycji, no bo jak mozna brac powaznie zarzuty takie jak moje-ze za malo w tym melodii? Ze za duzy napierdol? Przeciez to Black Metal wiec czego oczekiwalem? Problem w tym, ze Funeral Mist w moim odczuciu nie ma poza napierdolem wiele do zaoferowania: jest to poleganie na brzmieniu (ktorego ukrecenie pewnie zajmuje wiele godzin) i aranzacji (zmiany tempa, pauzy, akcenty) ale prawdziwej muzycznej tresci jest w tym niewiele. Taka plyta jak ,,Panzer Division Marduk" byla przez wielu krytykowana: ze zbyt jednostajna, ze malo pomyslowa itp. wiec dziwia mnie zachwyty nad Funeral Mist ktore jest chyba duzo ciezej strawne niz Panzer. Ok: to wszystko rzecz gustu i ja napisalem co mnie drazniw tej muzyce-problem w tym, ze pozytywne opinie o FM sa tak minimalistyczne i lakoniczne jak same riffy FM

@@brownwilliam4272 ah, but nay. with more bass you'd lose that /raw/ feel that the members (~Marduk) had going with their older albums. with more bass, it might be more rounded, but it lacks that certain punch. imo.

This is nice music made to be enjoyed but not to harm animals, if you go to a status like that as harming innocent animals after listening to this music means that you can't tolerate this music and people like you are the ones who put the musicians in trouble
If nothing else, I appreciate that Funeral Mist has a band name that isn't complete gibberish, impossible to pronounce, let alone remember. I musta heard a hundred cool Black Metal combos I'll likely never hear again because I failed to jot down their nonsensical handle.
