That was an excellent explanation, Drew! Good job! Under the Old "Law" (Covenant/Testament) the Jews had a definite structure of hierarchy. Why can't people see that it makes perfect sense that it was God that created that structure, based on the Authority He gave to Moses, for a reason? Then, Jesus continued it in the New "Law" (Covenant/Testament) when He gave the Keys of Heaven to Peter and sent the Apostles out into the world to build His Church? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. If it ain't broke, He doesn't need to fix it... or to change it!
Not to mention that the Protestant ecclesiology leads to chaos, imagine running a country or kingdom that way, where every layman interprets the laws for themselves. To say that the Old covenant has order but the new doesn’t it’s kind of ludicrous.

If the body of Christ is the church then the church has always existed and never had a start because God is eternal. How can the carnal mind comprehend its own carnality? Scripture Their traditions make void the word of God, scripture.
I just thought of something: Jesus said “the gates of the netherworld/hades shall not prevail against [his church]”, could this be used as a support for intercession of the saints? We have a tendency to read this and think of it like hell and the devil assailing the gates of the church and they will not ultimately succeed, but more plainly it has an offensive connotation, like the church assailing the gates of the dead. Hades and hell aren’t quite the same thing, one is a place of the dead (before Christ), and one is a place of damnation. To say the gates of the realm of the dead shall not prevail against the church (which brings life) correlates with how the church (the body of Christ) cannot he separated, in this sense, even by death. Since we are one in prayer, death does not stop us from appealing to our victorious brethren in heaven.
I've ruminated on that something similar, but I like your point. Unless there is something missing in our English translation, it appears that the Church will prevail in knocking down hell's gates not the other way around. But, it could also have something to do with the resurrection? I don't know? Just things I ponder.
What does scripture say? God is Spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit. Church might not mean body of Christ. Many confuse Christ with Christianity. Your traditions make void the word of God? The first Christians were Jews under the law. Beware of ecumenicalism. You have to know the Who What When Where and Why. You have to rightly divide the word of truth. Carnal people have carnal churches. Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Acts is a transitional book going from law to grace and never mix law with grace or you will have neither.
Flesh is sin and sin is death so what is it you think you can do in the flesh. Where in scripture does it say if I'm not catholic then I'm not saved? His body is Spirit.
The trinity is not scriptural. The Godhead is scriptural. The Father = The Soul of God. Jesus = The Body of God. The Holy Spirit = The Spirit of God. Jesus is God. Yes you're mixing the law with grace. Peter was sent to the Jews. I see you're into collective salvation. Jesus found me in my doubt and disbelief in my room by myself and saved me anyway and I was an atheist. Thank God it wasn't a book that saved me it was Jesus Himself. Who saved you? *THE ELIAKIM-PETER TYPOLOGICAL ARGUMENT FOR THE PAPACY* In the Bible, Joseph and Eliakim were given symbols of their unique authority and stewardship in their respective kingdoms (cf. Genesis 41:40-44, Isaiah 22:20-22). The symbols of authority given to Joseph and Eliakim were a signet ring and a key, respectively.
The office of steward passed from Shebna to Eliakim, demonstrating that while the person holding this office may be replaced or die, the office itself continues under the authority of the king.
Jesus is the King of kings (cf. 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14).
Jesus alluded to Isaiah 22:20-22 when speaking to Peter in Matthew 16:18-19, indicating a parallel between Eliakim's role and Peter's role.
Jesus gave Peter the "keys of the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 16:19) as a symbol of his unique authority and stewardship.
Therefore, Jesus established the office of steward in His kingdom, the Church.
Therefore, Peter held the authoritative stewardship role within the kingdom of heaven, analogous to Eliakim's role in the kingdom of Israel.
Jesus' kingdom, the Church, is eternal and will never end (cf. Daniel 7:14, Luke 1:33).
The office of steward within the Church has continued and will continue until Christ's return.
Peter died, and the office of steward passed from Peter to his successors sequentially, as evidenced by the early Church's recognition of the bishops of Rome as Peter's successors.
Therefore, Peter's successors, the Popes of the Catholic Church, have continued serving in this office, ensuring continuity in leadership and the preservation of Christ's authority within the Church.
Gen 45:8 "So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt." Isaiah 22:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and trengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
The irony of 22 and 23, right below his first example. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Sure he did. Jesus, being Jewish, of a Jewish mother, with Jewish apostles, built a Roman Catholic church? Sure he did. And the pope built protestant churches also. First you gotta show proof that Jesus, Peter, Mary and the apostles were Roman Catholic. Truth is not one of them EVER believed, taught or practiced ANYTHING Roman Catholic.
