Our family made a 4 hour move back in 89 and we were given the same uHaul truck, it ran about the same too lol, may have went back with roof damage from hitting the barrier at the mcdonalds drive-thru too
330ci was Ford’s industrial motor. I know this because I owned a ‘78 ex-Uhaul. We removed the box, built a cradle, and covered over that garish orange with white latex house paint. It was then a proper logging truck, fit to carry 14 thousand pounds of green Ponderosa Pine from a USFS timber contract near Preskit, Az (6000’elevation) down 2 mountains to a sawmill at about 2000’ or so. At two loads a day, she was a 8 mile per gallon champ. I was tasked with loading the 12’ logs, my boss hauled the 15 footers. Over the course of the day and a few beers we got lax about the length of the logs I loaded and eventually the rear axle became a fulcrum. I didn’t realize until I tried to negotiate the first of White Spar Road’s (US89a)130 or so turns down the mountain that the front tires weren’t doing what I hoped they would do, that is, maintain contact with the road. Good times. Pro tip: 390 engine parts oftentimes work for the 330. Thanks for the nostalgia.
I'm dying when you hit that bump and he said oh no can of Cosby sauce fell out. I heard you say oh no well we better go getter before we wake up with sore buttholes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 29:40
That minivan fiasco reminds me of the time a feller took his freestar down to my buddy's gold claim. The kinda down that requires big greasy mudders and fur by fur. Dude was definitely a pega leggin kinda feller with his alcohol consumption. Funny guy, with a hell of a bunch of hilarious stories of him taking that minivan into places it never should have been.
Used mine in a silica mine for 3 years, the amount of places I shouldn't have taken it, outnumber the places it belonged.... the damn thing wont die ....
I learned to drive on a 72 F600 Dump truck. Had a 330 gasser and 2 speed axle. My grandfather said the engines were used in busses. It took 25+ years of us and employees BEATING the snot out of it. Overloading the truck with woodchips, logs while pulling a Vermeer chipper on a pintle hitch. It was at red line Constantly! It's rev limiter was Infiniti. Thing never blew up. FREAKING LOYAL
U Haul was using these things at least until 1996. Nothing like being 18 years old and coming home for Thanksgiving just to rent a 14 foot box truck and go pick up your friend still in high school and do a dually burnout past the mommy pick up line. Minty good times!
The 330 HD uses a block based on the FE stuff In the HD version which is what you have, you get a stronger crank, bigger oil pump and a couple other small things to make it better for hauling especially uphill. The block looks almost identical to a 390 FE so most people think thats what they have when its really a 330.
360 is a stump puller all day long. 330 is roughly the displacement of 5.4L so wonder if that's where they came up with the Triton. Its a torquey bastard too.
The fact that he got that van up that hill is pretty friggin impressive 😆 I can't recall laughing this much while watching a video, it's not contrived horseshit it's all natural is the best part

Your trust and use of jackalls is very alarming but it just adds to how much of a deadly feller you are though to be honest. Also your entry speed on the hill run the last go was hella fucking impressive!
The 330 is a FT Ford Truck engine along with the 359, 361, 389 and 391. It's basically the same as a FE just designed for medium and heavy duty truck use with all forged internals, better rods, a better oil pump etc.. basically everything you need for a super durable engine. The 330 shares the same 3.30 inch stroke of the 332 FE (compared to the 352's 3.50 inch stroke). Yeah I'm a Ford guy, happen to have the Ford Parts Interchange Manual within reach of my computer..
