That's a problem for me. When I'm on the road with my RV, I'm like a machine, able to pile on many many hundreds of miles without flinching, and by the end of the day, I could have logged 600-700 miles without much thought. My problem is that I don't naturally slow down and enjoy things like I should. To be honest, I struggle with this as I have the same issue when traveling long distances by car, or even motorcycle, and even able to log more miles without thinking much. I really need to work on slowing down and enjoying things when on the road.
Hi guys. Thanks for another great video! Just FYI, I use an app called Rest Stops plus. It shows turn outs also and will tell you if there is a dump station as well. Safe travels!
Love it! Especially their rail traffic. “Don’t mess with Texas” Glad you’re there. Texas always feels safe I find a lot of common sense & kindness there. They don’t care what the “rage” is! Here’s your second like:) 👍 had to watch it again 😆
It looks like they won’t be out of US Army Tanks anytime soon. There are a few bases down there. Maybe they will use them to teach new recruits how to maneuver them.
just found your channel, just bought a class b (not delivered yet) and am already writing down all of the tips you are sharing! Which just reminds me of my dad - basic common sense and taking your time
Because we had to, Anchorage to upper BC, then we did a 1000 mile day from upper BC roadside to Tacoma behind the Camper World, Bakersfield the next after picking up a trailer, then Yuma. Whew!
For gas saving you can also use get upside. You get paid back for certain stations & shower you gas prices as well. You can also do the achievement app - to get paid for working out, tracking food etc. So many apps to earn $$. Not get rich, but I make it a game.
Pretty cool what all you caught on your camera with the hiker and tanks! Thanks for reminding me to prep some proteins. We have three weeks of dry camping coming up in the Outer Banks of NC. (1 wk at Frisco Campground and ferrying over to Ocracoke for 2 wks) Leaving in a week, so I need to get busy!
Outerbanks!!! Have fun there, sounds like an awesome trip. We did a couple days there driving through and took a fairy. We saw a beached whale! Sad and amazing to see at the same time.
Thanks for this video. I really enjoyed it. I'm just about to leave for my very first long weekend in my self built promaster. A first shake down trip. I'm so excited because you had a lot of good ideas for traveling I'm going to use.
This was a adventure that I really enjoyed . Love road trips also the traffic and scenery . Margarine Texas Pravda store you have done and that was excellent for you to do a visit there . Cooking meals made ahead of time is always great . Even making snakes ahead of time is excellent. Well today we got more snow in Manitoba, Canada . 😢my sad face , but your humor made me laugh . Well I guess you must of love the water in those bottles Chris . I want to thank you for making this video and sharing your road trip with me . BS & BK

Thanks for the little history lesson John! Usually I'm right on top of asking those questions about why/how/what, but we never looked up the name. Very interesting........... and we just learned coca cola bought them in 2017 for $220 million. Good little payday for the company that started in 1895!
Interesting! Now that you have drawn my attention to this gem... well ya, our local grocery carries it here in NH. I wasn't looking for it but it caught my eye! I purchased... not bad! Thanks for the interesting fun facts!
Fun video since you two (Chris) did all the driving etc. and we just enjoy. You two are so food disciplined 😱. Makes me feel a little guilty. Be good and stay safe out there!😎
Oh nice, thanks Al! I am a big fan of juicy hazy IPA's and I'm so glad they are becoming more and more popular around the country. We'll keep an eye out for the jellyfish!
Leaking gasoline hose, and Breaking Bad...weird coincidence. We enjoy your channel...keep em coming. Wish gas was that inexpensive here in California...safe travels...
I think I've heard of mudflap. Are they the fairly new or just starting to add more locations that support them? Looked like it would be a good option once the network got larger.
@@IreneIronTravels I think kind of new. Worth downloading and setting up. You can save a good amount when you happen to find a truck stop that uses it. Costs nothing to use.
I have to suggest you slow down and enjoy the journey. Why did you have to go so far in such little time? Was it lack of planning. You missed a great opportunity to spend a free night at the Marfa rest area and marfa lights viewing area. I stayed there with only a couple other over nighters in late fall 2019. At dusk there are a bunch of people who come to see the lights, but no lack of space.
For sure, great suggestion! We are continuing to work on that. Marfa would be a cool town to spend a couple and see those lights. We had a reservation to get so that was the two long travel days.
@@IreneIronTravels aren’t you nice, thanks a lot. There are lots of camper vans in Europe. You can rent one for one Euro, if you will drop it off at it’s original site. It’s kinda like a repositioning cruse. You pay gas, insurance and any extra days you want. Thanks again ☮️🌎
Always nice to discover one vid from you friends, have ever tasted Perrier sparkling water and San Pellegrino ? I love them. So refreshing !!! Take care on the road.
Have y’all tried using a TDS Furl card that pays you back. It comes directly out of your checking account then they pay you back X amount.. sometimes $20-25 returned.
We haven't tried the TSD cards yet but have heard of some people that really like it. Especially the big rigs with big gas/diesel bills. We only drive about 15k a year, so not sure if it makes sense for us.
Good for you guys getting your steps in! That is the toughest part for sure... not getting in our steps! Sometimes we'll get up early and hit the gym on the way to get some movement and a good workout! Thanks for watching!!
Oh gosh since you didn't mention it assuming you didn't stop to see the awesome old hotel in town. You should have spent the night here for at the rest stop just outside of town on the road you were on is a rest stop where people spend the night to see the colored lights in the sky. They have no explanation of why this happens. Also at the rest stop is where the Army Air Corp use to have a training base for pilots durning WWII. If you looked beyond the fence you would have seen what little of the runway that is still around, all the buildings gone. The reason I am aware of this is because my father taught there during the war. Also in town they had a really cool museum. Back in the day Marfa was a beautiful place with middle temps, no freezing, lots of water and basically the people grew all their own produce. Add this place to a list to return to someday.
Hey you two, Of course, I have a question for you. I was wondering how much percentage of bio-diesel have you filled up with in your AI? It's posted on our fuel tank opening that nothing over 5% Bio-diesel should be used and I've really tried to make sure we do that. However, some of these places (more through the Southwest) make it difficult and have a very high percentage of Bio-diesel. Often say's up to 20% Bio-diesel. So I always take that to mean that it has 20% Bio-diesel and don't take a chance on using it. So we leave and find another station. This can be hard as a lot of the local stations will have the same 20% Bio. But so far we've been able to find it or still have mileage enough left to make it to another safe fueling location. Diesel#2 isn't everywhere! Your advice about getting fuel around the 1/4 tank mark is very smart. We do the same. Thanks for your post! Thank you, Vince and Laura (original owners) 2013 Airstream Interstate
Hello! Yes, we are the same as you with only putting in marked #2 diesel with the rating of "B5". We've found many truck stops or fleet pumps are the ones that say the B20 often because I think fleets and semi's are quite a bit less picky. We've also had to hop around a couple stations to find the right marking, but there was one area (I think in remote California) that was only marked as between 5-20 bio diesel blend. Other than that passthrough we've been able to find the 5% stuff. Leave it up to MB to be so picky. When I looked into it though I did find a web page through an actual MB dealer that said it was ok to run the 20 through, but continued use can cause issues . mercedes-benz.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/10832/0/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNjE4MTY0MjIxL3NpZC9QTG8qV2Q4cA==/filename/Illinois+biodiesel+brochure_Final.pdf
jill lang I have a tank question...not sure you want to answer these questions but here goes. We are taking our first RV trip in a few weeks in an Airstream Interstate and I'm concerned about the tanks. We are staying at a harvest host for the first night and then on to a campground with full hookups. I asked the question in the FB Airstream group but got lots of different answers. The question is...If we only stay one night at a harvest host... when we get to the campground do we just hook up to sewer and that dumps the tank? Some said the macerator would take care of it until the tank is full but some said hook up right away??? So confused. I thought the point of full hookups was to not have to worry about any of your tanks? Please help if possible. When Y'all are in a campground do you hook.up to sewer? It's an Airstream Interstate 2018.
Hello! Congrats on the Airstream interstate! Don't worry, you will soon be a pro with your rig. Because you are only staying one night at HH you will be fine to not dump your tanks the next day when you get to your campground. On the second day of your campground stay, go a head and hook up your sewer hose to the sewer hook up. After connected, open the red turn valve on the end of the sewer hose. Then open your black valve by holding the push button. Once open, then flip the macerator switch and listen for the tank to empty. You will hear the pitch of macerator motor sound change and then switch the Macerator off. Close the black tank and then open the gray and repeat the macerator dump process. Close the gray tank and also close the red turn valve on the macerator hose. You can leave your hose hooked up to the sewer and you will have to come out and repeat this dump process every 2-3 days. I dump every 2 days just so I don't have a full tank at night and have to run out and dump. All full hookups means is you have water, electric, and sewer at your site. You will still need to dump the tanks every couple days at your site, but that is better than having to drive to the dump station to do it. Hope that helps!!
Hey there! Thanks again for the great video. Chris-What is the type/brand of greens you had for breakfast? We’re hitting the road next week, and need some cold breakfast ideas.
Hello! Yay, to hitting the road next week!😃 We have tried a few different brands, but keep coming back to Amazing Grass Green Super Food. amzn.to/3mDWb3F They sell them at Sams and Costco sometimes as well and seem to be a good combo of value and quality. They have different blends and flavors as well... make sure to mix with cold water! Thanks for watching!!
You can tell that you two are both pretty tough, if you can handle 9 hours of driving, through very desolate terrain, and you come out of it as energetic and chipper as Chris and Aaron were at the end of this video.
Hi Aaron and Chris...I noticed that you used your CC at the pump. I love the convenience of not having to "go in", however, three times within the past two years, my CC was compromised when using the pump reader. Has this ever happened to you? (I sure hope not...what a pain).
Hello! No, thankfully we have not had anything like that happen to us. But, I have heard of those "credit card skimmers" before. Thanks for the reminder!!
It is just a mix we buy called Amazing Grass. amzn.to/2QybPSa You can also get it from Walmart or Costco as well. They sell many different kinds and flavors and they just mix with cold water! Not a meal replacement, but more of just getting in some extra vitamins and minerals.
Hey, Karen! Chris here...Aaron mentioned Walmart or Costco, but it's actually Sam's Club we got this at, not Costco. We have memberships at both warehouses but get the greens from Sams :)
It's hard to know the exact size as Sprinter does not have a gauge or markings, but I believe ours is the 4.7 gallon. We refill with a 2.5 gal box about every 5k miles or so.
@@IreneIronTravels ok, thanks Irene. I will stick with my Ford gas Class B van. I tow a U-Haul trailer I bought awhile back and I have a 3 wheel power battery operated handicapped scooter since I am an amputee. Right leg below the knee and a senior citizen with other health problems.
@@IreneIronTravels Those trains go by often on that track. My guess is they are going from Fort Bliss (El Paso) down to Fort Hood (Killeen). Fort Hood is a major armor training base.
Do you use the TSD Logistics card or Get Upside? We used them both even with our Class B and especially now with our Class A diesel pusher and the now higher price of fuel.
We haven't used them, but have heard good things about them. It was on the list to check out and just never got to it. We don't drive a crazy amount (15k a year) and have just used the gas buddy to get the best local price as we travel. Good to hear you used them even in your B and for sure the big rigs should use them! Thanks!
Enjoyed your Tips and advice on Travel Days, Im doing It This coming week of to California from Clearwater Florida, . I planned 500 mile days for 5 Days all the way I 10. Not sure yet where overnight stay will be? Cracker Barrel?, Cabelas? Maybe. Ymca's, or Have you tried Costco, Sams Clubs? What do you Think? Stay Safe.
All right, your big trip is close!! Our number one option for overnights while traveling is going to be Cracker Barrels. If those are readily available on your route I would stick with those. We have probably done well over 60 nights there with no problems. We have also done Walmarts and Cabelas, but Costco's and Sams Clubs do not usually allow overnights at all. Use sites like Campendium( check the free box) and check for recent good reviews on overnight sites that people have stayed at. It gets easier the more you do it!
I have seen some comments in other people's videos that Mercedes RV have lot of issues. Did you guys had any issues? Also does this have smooth ride quality than Class B RVs?
You could, but it would be pretty tough! People do it in larger motorhomes which are a bit more stable going down the road. The bumps and turns would make it really tough. I did pee once and it felt like an airplane bathroom while going through turbulence!🤣🤣
The Prada exhibit was vandalized, that’s why they only have the single shoe of every style so that looters are not as tempted to break in and steal the shoes.
Not really. We are 9 foot 8 inches, so there were only two bridges we've seen that were close. One was under 10 feet in Central Park in NYC and the other was listed at 10 feet on the way to New England area on a really old hwy. I read all bridges on hwys and freeways are all 14 or more now, but its the older ones off route to have to watch.
Yes, usually around there for miles and we fill up about 20 or so gallons.(26gal tank) We average between 16-18 mpgs with our 2014 Airstream Interstate with a 3.0 diesel.
It's not just the storm we sell on poshmark and since last year USPS has been messed up but they are better now the postmaster from the last guy did a real job on it GOD BLESS uall IN JESUS HOLY NAME be careful out there SHALOM SHALOM AMEN SHALOM

When I looked into it though I did find a web page through an actual MB dealer that said it was ok to run the 20 through, but continued use can cause issues . mercedes-benz.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/10832/0/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNjE4MTY0MjIxL3NpZC9QTG8qV2Q4cA==/filename/Illinois+biodiesel+brochure_Final.pdf

I have a tank question...not sure you want to answer these questions but here goes.
@@IreneIronTravels Thank you so much!
Your eyes are so funny and expressive!
🤪😳🤣 Thanks!
I miss your van already..😔
Thanks EC! It was a bit of a roller coaster dip in the middle, but we powered through! Appreciate the comment!
Another great video thanks guys!
Our pleasure, thanks Patty!
A big thanks a Chris Hair being down all way to the end ! Then she took us all " One Step Beyond" With Her Dr. Seuss Hairstyle. What creativity !!!
😂 That's a great way to describe whatever was going on with her hair in the last scene at the end! I didn't even know how to describe it!!
Do you have a recipe for your green am drink without using a Blender?
It is just a mix we buy called Amazing Grass. amzn.to/2QybPSa You can also get it from Walmart or Costco as well. They sell many different kinds and flavors and they just mix with cold water! Not a meal replacement, but more of just getting in some extra vitamins and minerals.
Hey, Karen! Chris here...Aaron mentioned Walmart or Costco, but it's actually Sam's Club we got this at, not Costco. We have memberships at both warehouses but get the greens from Sams :)
How many gallons does your def tank hold??
It's hard to know the exact size as Sprinter does not have a gauge or markings, but I believe ours is the 4.7 gallon. We refill with a 2.5 gal box about every 5k miles or so.
@@IreneIronTravels ok, thanks Irene. I will stick with my Ford gas Class B van. I tow a U-Haul trailer I bought awhile back and I have a 3 wheel power battery operated handicapped scooter since I am an amputee. Right leg below the knee and a senior citizen with other health problems.
Whoa what was that convoy?
WWIII I guess! It was pretty crazy to see all of those tanks!!
@@IreneIronTravels Those trains go by often on that track. My guess is they are going from Fort Bliss (El Paso) down to Fort Hood (Killeen). Fort Hood is a major armor training base.
Oh cool, good to know thanks!
Epic video 👍👍
Thanks 😁
Do you use the TSD Logistics card or Get Upside? We used them both even with our Class B and especially now with our Class A diesel pusher and the now higher price of fuel.
We haven't used them, but have heard good things about them. It was on the list to check out and just never got to it. We don't drive a crazy amount (15k a year) and have just used the gas buddy to get the best local price as we travel. Good to hear you used them even in your B and for sure the big rigs should use them! Thanks!
Do you guys call ahead before you get to the Walmarts?
We do at some if it's posted no overnight parking, but mostly we check the current reviews on people that have stayed. Mostly on Campendium.
Does Aaron ever drive? 😊
Not often!😳🤣
Maybe dumb question but can you cook while you drive? and can you shower when drive?
You could, but it would be pretty tough! People do it in larger motorhomes which are a bit more stable going down the road. The bumps and turns would make it really tough. I did pee once and it felt like an airplane bathroom while going through turbulence!🤣🤣
Someone needs to build a tool store "art" exhibition across the road.
That would be cool!
The Prada exhibit was vandalized, that’s why they only have the single shoe of every style so that looters are not as tempted to break in and steal the shoes.
Ohhhh, makes sense. Thanks!
Do you have to sorry about height restrictions with your rig?
Did you say you could travel about 350 miles for the tank (26 gallons)? I did not really catch that part. Which year is your RV?
Yes, usually around there for miles and we fill up about 20 or so gallons.(26gal tank) We average between 16-18 mpgs with our 2014 Airstream Interstate with a 3.0 diesel.
@@IreneIronTravels Thank you so much for the info!
