- Here is a 10-car R142A being used to evaluate the timers along the (1) line. With these tests, running times could be improved with simple modifications and fixes to the existing signal system.

Appreciate the fact that you shot this video at a station that was once demolished by terrorists! For those who didn't notice, the first half of this video was shot at the Cortland Street subway station. That station was directly beneath the Twin Towers and nearly lost to history on 9/11/01. Thankfully, the MTA rebuilt the station for 21st century riders and is now seamlessly incorporated into the Occulus transit hub near 1 WTC. 🇵🇷🇺🇸😎

Yeah. Unfortunately, 2 out of 5 lines still don't have NTT trains. The 1 line just happens to be one of them.

they probably testing the R142A on the 1 line because when the R262 comes, the 1/3 trains will get the R142/As and the 2 will get the R262, that’s why they testing on the 1 line, to checking if they need to make any changes on the R142As before the R262s comes.
Wait a minute I thought the 1 and 3 trains would be getting the R262s since they have R62/As. But the R142/As look cool on the 1 and 3 trains. Any new tech trains would be helpful on the 1 and 3 trains
@@Amiri_Francis nah, the R142/As will be on the 1 and 3 and maybe some R262s, idek lol, but the 2 4 5 and 6 will be having R262s, i think the R262s will replace the R62/As and i think the 2 4 5 and 6 will still have some R142/As, let’s see what happens in the future!
@@Ritical_Transit So the fleet depends on ridership levels CBTC or what train has the oldest fleet. Cause if the Lexington Avenue CBTC is a goal of the R262s order. The 6 train and 42nd street shuttle getting the R262s is a guarantee. But For the others if the oldest rolling stock decides that the newest fleet directly replace the R62/As. This many make the MTA looks stupid but I believe since the MTA would want the newest train fleet operating on the Lexington Avenue line for the CBTC project it’s very likely that the entire R142/A fleet from the 4 train and at least 50%-60% of the R142 fleet from the 2/5 trains will be reassigned to the 1 and 3 trains. I mean the R262s are replacing the R62/As right.But I guess the newest doesn’t always necessarily directly replace the oldest train fleet

I lowkey hope the 2 and 5 get the R262s first. They can take advantage of the flexible digital maps and get rid of the cluttered static strip maps lol. The 1 and 6 are perfect for the latter.
