I watched only 3 videos of this guy. I did most the things he advised us about. I managed to get a VW Polo TSI base model at 13,75% fixed rate 72 months with 0 balloon payment. To sweeten the deal the sales lady offered free smash and grab, as well as mud flaps. Big one is I managed to convince them to scrap off delivery fee worth R6500. I did my best🤣🤣. Thanks Muzi
How did you manage to get them to scrap a delivery fee? Please send tips. A dealership wants to charge me R4.6k for delivery and they say it is ‘standard’
Here's a summary of what to watch for from my experience and some lessons from this channels videos. Dealer possible options to scrap and what salesman will say. 1. Smash & Grab (it's on the car we can't remove) 2. On the road fees/service and delivery (hardest to get them to remove this one, be prepared to walk away) 3.Tracker (no problem they'll remove) 4.Extended Warranty & service ( no problem they'll remove) 5. Paint protection (see 1) 6. Scratch/bumper insurance( no problem they'll remove) 7. License and reg (They can remove, but I don't mind paying up to 1500 for it, the only extra I pay for in this whole list) Salesman pressure/negotiation tactices 1. Let me speak to my manger (a classic, there's no manager they need to speak to. They will make another colleague call you to convince but it's not a manager) 2. Another customer wants this car (another classic, creating urgency) 3. Ask you what you want to pay per month (classic first question. Don't answer that. Point at the car you want, ofcourse you go there after seeing the price online. From there they will see your budget in terms of price of car, not monthly installment. I can't stress this enough, don't talk installments with salesman!) Lastly, check your emotions if you not feeling any of these and stop the process! 1. I want this car as in today ( you will accept a crappy deal) 2. If I don't accept that deal with that dealership I won't get another one soon because cars take long to order (the salesman got you good. They made you believe that. STOP!) 3. I'm so exhausted I just want this whole thing to end (STOP, otherwise you will accept a crappy deal just to get over and done with it) Okay I'm done 🙂
My brother Thank you for this you just did the lords work for me whos looking to buy in November this year. will definitely use this, so you said you only pay for license & reg fee out of all the things you mentioned? so you are able to cnvince them to waive off everything else
@@XFiles_Podcast Yes sirr. I insist they remove everything. Make it clear you won't pay more than the advertised price period. Tell them if they had additional costs, they should've added them in the price of the car. I've done over 7 vehicle quotes, not once have they refused. They try but they give in
@@XFiles_Podcast Yessir Just insist they remove the other stuff. Be prepared to walk away. Out of the 7 times I've done this I always succeeded removing all these things. Some salesman are harder but some can tell if you know your story and don't fight much.

This should go down as one of the best videos MJ has ever done 👌🏻🔥👏🏻 Very important and valid points touched on. I've argued the issue of delivery fee twice in the past and got away with it (never paid the fee). It's nonsense. In one of those instances i actually cancelled the deal then got a call 2 days later from the same dealership agreeing to my demand of scraping off delivery fee from the quote. And you are right about a legal case that once happened about dealers charging that fee. I once bought a car, private deal, but financed through Wesbank. A year or so down the line (after the outcome of that case, Wesbank called me to refund that delivery fee. Watch out people, at times dealerships include the cost of new number plates on registration fee, yet you get that demo/used car with the same number plate already fitted. Be brave enough to walk away from a deal.
On point! The biggest problem I've had when helping friends with this stuff is the excitement of getting a new car. I've found that the hard part is fighting against them from accepting a crappy deal. Me negotiating with the delearship is the straightforward part. 4 ladies I've helped with this and all 4 were fighting me saying they tired of this whole process they just want to accept that deal coz "It's not that bad" 😮😂 Yoh ay car buying excitement is a hell of a drug and salesman prey on this
Eish listening on today's lesson I realise a few mistakes I made in January 2024 on my new Baleno GL 1. Smash and grab 2. Delivery and registration fees but atleast the car was delivered on my door step with a full tank 3. Desparation due to 2010 old A4 lemon with constant repairs 4. Interest rate not so bad at fixed 13% on 72months, no residual. Next buy ba nyele new or second hand I'll be more pobop 🤟 Thanks Mr Sambo 🎉
always on point with the videos. im sure you are helping many first time owners but i think the desperation to get a new car and also best makes some want to take anything. personally, save save save get a nice demo if you can and try buy car cash finish! if a car is under R150K and used save and buy it outright and move on with life (only insurance and your tracker and fuel, albeit maintenance always!). keep the videos coming baba🦅
Learning from the best. End of this month I will walk away with the new Jolion City that was launched few weeks ago, I will use the Toyota Urban Cruiser (2024) as a comparison because there are certain features that it has that the Haval doesn’t and that’s where I’ll base my negotiating skills 😂 Both the quotes are at N$ 355k currently, I will come back with an update beginning of August. My budget is N$ 348 000
My first car I bought at prime + 5%. 😂 I still feel like these banks should be investigated for this practice of charging high interest rates. I've seen in the UK some banks being fined for working with dealerships to charge clients high interest rates.
for those who still don't believe you can negotiate scrapping some of the fees, reducing interest rate etc take it from me. i did it. when i bought my car( 2nd hand cruze- price R149 000 in 2019) i was quoted R3 600+ on finance. i kept telling them it's a lot and they kept reducing amount bit by bit call after another until it was rigid at R3 100. it seems like very little money but over the term it's R 36 000 that i'd have to pay. so negotiate everything and when you're done, negotiate again.
I love how most of the cars correlate with the topic you are talking about. It's that little attention to detail that makes it more exciting to watch😅🙏
