2003 was the best to me. I also liked the calm moments Hulk enjoyed in the desert. The take on the story that Banner actually enjoys being the hulk on some level was a unique approach. Despite its Comic look the movie also maintained a somewhat melancholic feel due to the actors doing a really good job. The movie definitely has its weak points but to me it had more soul than the others. And while I generally like Norton and also don’t mind Liv Tyler, Bana’s and Connelly‘s performances were much stronger from my perspective. Sam Elliot was cool as always.

He is not as strong as savage hulk though, because the Hulks strength across the board is fueled by his anger. Professor hulk can't get angry or he will turn into savage hulk. In comics Hulks personalities come out per what the situation calls for.

I think it's more about how Hulk lost than the fact he didn't win that specific fight. Thanos yeeting Hulk so hard he ends up back on Earth is fine, but Thanos beating Hulk up so badly that he got too scared to come out at all didn't feel right for a lot of people. I had a similar problem with the Hulkbuster fight KO in Age of Ultron, where I didn't entirely hate Hulk losing a bout of fisticuffs as a story device but it still felt weird.
I think 2003 Hulk is the stronger Hulk but wasn't put in a situation to prove it.

I don’t think the tank scene is his most powerful. It’s the entire sequence of him running through the water underneath Golden Gate bridge followed by emerging from the ground several miles away. No sewer line is big enough for him to walk through, they only go up to his knees, so he had to of powered his way through rock the entire way. Several thousand tons of rock, dirt, and infrastructure plowed through nonstop.

A shame they completely ruined him as a character in the process. Smart Hulk is supposed to be a fusion of their two personalities into one but it's just big green CGI Mark Ruffalo. They basically killed off the Hulk.

The thing I struggle with is that it seems avengers strength varies film to film. In avengers 1 nothing could hurt hulk and he could stop that enormous behemoth with one punch. He would throw things miles and just came across ludicrously strong. In age of ultron he seemed a little weaker, the fact that the hulk buster stood a chance is silly really. And in infinity war.. well.. I don’t mind the fact thanos beat him as he is stupidly strong but they made hulk way too weak in my opinion and it should have been more of a battle. Hulk seemed slow and his hits that can one minute stop that 12,000 ton monster, barely moved thanos.
