Another 2 Bangers!! It was so cool finally getting to meet Rakshata and see Schneizel. That last episode left on a crazy cliffhanger and we're itchin' for more!!
We're on track to finish the first season by the end of March (if all goes according to plan) and would LOVE to cosplay for the finale like we did with Gurren!!
If you'd like to help donate to the cosplay fund to make that possible it would mean the world to us and help greatly 🙏 either way thank you for being here and going on this journey with us!! 💜

two more weeks till the best joke ever
-
btw this show is infamous for cliffhangers
-
just wait till the end of S1
I love how Josh's brain melted when the 2nd episode ended
"Its been a while since hearing a HuHa"
This make me laugh so hard 😂😂😂
The theme of silly
A little detail uyou two might have missed, when Lelouch meets Rakshata he says he read her papers on medical cybernetics, thats probably bc he did research on ways to heal Nunally. Always puts a tear in my eye
I never picked up on that line! Beautiful!
Wow. Great catch.
Knowing there's still people watching this show makes me happy.
It's gotta be my favorite anime.
That being said
This about to get unholy
It’s interesting that y’all are pushing for Lelouch to become a more calculated leader! This is usually an unlikable trait, since people usually value empathy. I think Lelouch having empathy in these moments is what separates him from his father.
I know right. Lelouch cares a lot,and definitely not cold and calculated regarding his friends, and could get very emotional to the point of being irrational. I thought the Shirley's arc and Mao confrontation with Suzaku part should have gotten that point across regarding his character trait, but apparently it still didn't..
Yeah, but Lelouch is constantly getting in his own way. Because he wants to have his cake and eat it, too, things go wrong. If he had killed Suzaku even after his face reveal, how much could have been avoided?
@@saltyk9869 Idk if you are replying to me or not? My point is that his struggles makes him human and relatable. What you have described makes him a more interesting character.
nunnally and Lelouch were sent to Japan as bargaining pieces so it's fair to assume nunnally was sent over to marry suzaku as a medieval style alliance. Maybe probably
It makes you wonder more about Suzaku's thought process when murdering his dad. Was it so simple as just bowing your head to preserve peace? Maybe he knew things would be fine for him personally because of that (knowing Lelouch and Nunnally? Granted he was what, 10 or something? his thought process probably was that simple.
@@ChrisOak2Japan was never going to win a war with Britannia. "Do or die" was a stubborn and narcissistic choice made by his father that would've meant millions upon millions would've died. An entire country worth of people are alive because of Suzaku. And he doesn't even pat himself on the back for it.
I love how every reactor seems to tune out the fact that Nina EINSTEIN is talking about Uranium-235 and Nuclear Fission.
Like anything bad ever came form playing with nuclear fission.
Do they even say her name in the series?
@@saltyk9869 Yes
I don't think most people know what Uranium 235 is.
@@abombu235 They know what Uranium is and at least the bare bones of what Nuclear Fission is. Or they should if they payed attention in high school. Uranium + Talk of dividing Uranium = Nuclear Fission or 1+1=2.
Just a head's up, this series ends on an uneven episode number, so I recommend you make the final three episodes one extended episode. Also, the episodes tend to be a lot so huggable plushies or tissue boxes will help.
Just in case, don't read the title of the 22nd episode.
I'm realizing I watched this almost 2 decades ago, jeezus im old.
I completely forgot Kallen tries to reveal herself at the end there, I genuinely don’t remember that or if it’s important afterwards, that’s crazy
crazy how i only started watching this because of you guys and ive been hooked so much I’m already on like the last 2 episodes of season 2😭 yall are in for a such a ride
I love that you started Code Geass now! Have you seen modern anime before or is it your first? Have you watched other older anime?
Las two episodes of season 2? You're the one in for such a ride.
So... How was it? People say it has the best ending in all of anime. Do you agree?
What did you thunk of the ending?
I finally finished it after putting it off for 2 weeks😭 this might be in my top 5 anime oat
Why aren't you guys more popular? You dont just watch you react and Share your opinion. ITS AMAZING
Thank you 😊💜
Im not sure how you guys got the impression that Lelouch is a heartless cold and calculating mastermind. Well i mean he indeed is like that sometimes, but Lelouch also cares about his friends, a lot. That alone already makes him unable to act.
Yeah but Lelouch is presenting himself as a saviour of millions of people. And he doesn't actually care about them in the slightest. That's where the heartless part comes in.
@@LoyaltL Yeah well it's established that he would accept casualties for the sake of his goal, but after the Shirley's arc with Mao and the confrontation where Suzaku got traumatized by Mao, with Lelouch ordering Mao to never speak again to protect Suzaku, should be enough proof he does care about his friends, and could get too emotional about things concerning to the point of not being logical and rational anymore. But they seem to still to think they Lelouch should still be able to keep his cool and heartless even with stuff regarding his friend, though I hope they will figure it out next ep
@@LoyaltLthe fuck? That doesnt make him heartless, that makes him selfish. He clearly genuinely _loves_ the few people he cares about; he's just willing to fuck over anyone else he _doesnt care about_ to protect them. Heartless is the LAST thing he is, just an overall asshole is all.
@@minhsakura281That makes me excited for when Suzaku and Lelouch both do go unhinged later on.
You said Rakshata was smarter than Lloyd... That airship and weapon were both based on concepts that Lloyd developed. They're both smart as Hell. Look no further than the Lancelot and Guren.
So Schneizel is one of the smartest and most powerful people in Britannia. He seeks to be Emperor. And he employs Lloyd. When they mention Lloyd's boss or benefactor, they mean Schneizel. Lloyd develops concepts and Schneizel has them built. All Lloyd wants is to work on his passion projects, like Lancelot.
All of this is done in service of taking the throne. To prove himself as someone worthy and then challenge the Emperor. This is something you need to be aware of in all his decisions. It's all in service of his goal.
"Objectivity is a _fairy tale_ . In the end, Journalism is a product of the Human mind, like everything else."
Ain't that the fucking truth. Diethard is the best fucking character.
Weird way to spell "worst". But you do you.
@@saltyk9869 why do people like you always gotta shit on other people's favourite characters? Just cuz YOU can't be bothered to examine them a lil closer, doesn't mean they are without appealing features.
@@frenchynoob Okay, it may be time for you to log off, man. I made a joke. I don't have a strong opinion on the character.
But he does do some things in the series. Even in this episode he tried to get Kallen to kill Suzaku even after everyone else, including Zero, objected to the action. So, yeah.
I think that, like Tamaki, he has his role in the show. And he has his positive and negative moments. Just has some really bad moments.
@@saltyk9869 how is that a "bad moment"? It makes perfect sense for him to manipulate Kallen behind Zero's back. That's called good character writing.
Judging characters based on their morality relative to the protagonist seems like a seriously narrow-minded way to view them.
@@saltyk9869 "judging" is the wrong term. "Choosing to like a character based on their morality relative to the protagonist" is closer to phrasing my point properly.
watched the show before, but all the banging music and cliffhangers take me back to that awesome feeling the show left you with. always looking forward to the next week and trying to figure out what was going on. its real nice seeing you two trying to make sense of the story, now that the rest of us that have seen it knows what is coming in the future.
so fun show to talk with others about as you watched it the first time, hope you keep enjoying it to its fullest :)
got any favorite character?
not sure why but i always liked Kallen.
Who didnt big boobs and ass galore
the ironic.... thats why he laugh at the end....
You’re not ready for the end of this season that’s for sure.
haha i loved that cliffhanger 😂
I love watching both of you reacting to code geass. Its fun to watch. Cant wait to see the next episode with you guys
Nunallee is far too precious for this world
Suzaku frustrations build lol and Diethard is a character I didn't expect to enjoy so much no lie but man nearing the end of S1 already 😮
Avalon is from King Arthur Lore
we also have Lancelot, Arthur (cat)
But we will get more knights of the round in this anime.
A good deal of Britannian society is based on Arthurian mythology. The capital city of the Holy Britannian Empire is Pendragon, which was King Arthur's last name.
@@elitegamer9310 oh wow that's cool new fact for me.
hadron cannon... FIRE!!!
Congrats on the 5k!
Thank you 😊😭💜
49:39 Nah, we saw in the very first episode how Suzaku refused an order from his superior to kill Lelouch. Even if it meant death.
Tohdoh is not the same. Tohdoh is a member of a rebel ""terrorist"" organisation that took hostages (including children) and even killed them just recently.
Loving the reactions btw. Never mentioned this before but I really like the segment discussing the episode before jumping into the next one.
the VA for toto is the guy who did tom on toonami
when he wanted to tell suzaku something and then suzaku needed to leave in the first half of the episode, he actually wanted to tell suzaku like everything
he said that he wont be able to be at nunally`s side all the time and that he needs suzaku to be at her side
he wanted to tell suzaku everything about him beeing zero and so on that makes the reveal and his reaction even better.. sadface
I hope the next episode will change how you see Lelouch's character trait and personality, the reason why he did what he did regarding his friends
Susaku really think people would trust him and the emperor will give japan back if he be a good boy , like bro you don't even own Lancelot you just a muscle.
Skip the titles
Suzaku: "ITS BETTER THAN BREAKING THE RULES!"
Josh: "YOU FUCKING NEEERRDDDD!!!!!"
*EXPLOSION* Cliff hanger
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yo 5K subs let's go 🎉
Loving the Code Geass discussions y'all 👏
Thank you Money!! 😊💜
Kero Kero
Lol I can’t wait to see his opinion on suzaku change and character development season 2 and for the rest of this season
I wish I could say suzaku gets better. But i would be lying.
I am pleading that you STOP READING THE EPISODE TITLES! Its for you benefit.
☕
31:50 you should really listen to that convo again
and just listen to what is sayed ............
Yeah! She's talking about Oppenheimering stuff.
@@PrimeCo129 litte do people know, her name is Ninna Einstein... No kidding...
I was a little surprised there was no reaction to the mention of the racist girl talking about uranium
@@fosterbennington6405
she isn´t racist
she is Xenophobic
@@baronbrummbar8691 I’m not so certain about that tbh
1:53 how can you say eww to that beautiful smile
Another banger reaction and review.
Josh, u dont have to feel bad about being frustrated with Suzaku. We all are. His ideals are hypocritical in nature bcuz he fights for a system that goes against all that he believes in. He doesnt want to kill ppl but he's put in the position of an executioner. That is so ironic its not even funny. But he still blindly follows their rule believing that maybe eventually he can change that from within. At the same time, what's going to happen with all the ppl sacrificed along the way. In that regard, Lelouch is kinda doing the same but he is aware of that needing to happen even tho, he himself, depending on the ppl that needs to be sacrificed, also is unsure and his resolve gets shacky.
All in all cant wait for the rest of season 1. Also reminder to skip reading titles :P its for ur own good.
No we aren't. Lelouch, Suzaku and C.C. are my favourite characters in the entire show in that order.
Suzaku is the least understood in the entire show by a wide margin and it shows because a lot of people just choose to hate him instead of reading him. It's the same thing with Nina. People don't pay attention, make up their own 1D conclusions and spend the rest of the episodes defending that view instead of paying attention to what the show is saying. There are NO badly written characters in CG. And that goes doubly for a main cast like Suzaku.
@@LoyaltL Yeah I'm right there with you.
I was never frustrated by Suzaku. The show makes it SO PAINFULLY OBVIOUS he is PTSD'ed to bordeline insanity, that anyone who gets frustrated is just straight up not paying attention.
@LoyaltL Bro go back and read again what i said. I never said i hate him, or did i said there are badly written character. The way he is shown is like a mirror to Lelouch , diff sides of the same coin. Its intentionally written like that. I just said his ideals conflict with whats happening around him. Its rly ironic u say something like "ppl make up their own conclusions and call it a day" and then u go and make the same about my perception of him.
@@BlackSnowXBut you misunderstand him. That's my main point. You said he "blindly follows their rules". That's a terrible misread of his character. He has very detailed reasons for following the rules, not blind. Heck he disobeyed orders right in the first episode.
Skip episode titles!! They spoil things
They're part of the broadcasting edit aren't they?...honestly if the studio didn't want you to see them they wouldn't be there. Kinda like saying "skip the bad parts/filler of X show!", like yeah you can, and it probably is a better experience, but personally I like to evaluate a work of art in it's totality, and have enough faith in them as reactors/reviewers that they have the media literacy to suspend their judgement with awareness of how those elements contribute to the whole...
There's also the argument that minor teasers like that are PART of what makes a good viewing experience, since the anticipation can be part of the art.
@@Flamewarden_Honoushugoshin Thank you 👏
Thumbs up if Code Geass has the best and the most cliffhangers.
hard work pays off! 👏
Another great set of episodes, always nice to hear your discussion after every episodes.🔥 So basically what josh is saying is that he hates Suzaku🫠
Yeah basically it lol. I can see the look of obvious disgust on his face, even if he said he doesn't hate Suzaku, his face gave it away.
