Suzaku appears on screen*
Josh: …and I took that personally 😂
Suzaku has a martyr complex from killing his dad, he basically joined the army to die. All he wants is one great sacrifice to redeem himself, so to be cursed to live no matter what is just a chef kiss of irony
Forcing a guy with a death wish to be eternally motivated to live is CRAZY
"Eternally" is kinda misleading. It's not like just getting ordered to "live" makes him immortal. He just can't give up on life by choice which I would argue is a blessing 99.9999% of the time unless someone tortures you to death slowly or something crazy like that.
My optimistic headcanon is that it’s somewhat of a blessing because it overrides his wish to die whenever it flares up too much.
@@Jakokokoroko In a normal person I would agree with that statement. The problem is Suzaku isn't normal in this point and time, he is literally throwing himself into life threatening danger repeatedly to try and assauge his feelings of guilt for killing his father.
It is sort of like if somebody reverses a person's trauma so they have to keep reliving it. Like if somebody has a deep seated fear of spiders, and Lelouch was all 'You must always own a pet spider for the rest of your life.' To other people without the trauma it is whatever, or possibly even a boon, but for the one who has that mental scar it is a constant reminder that they can never escape.
Leoluch only used it to escape his fate. Even if he hated that his friend is suicidal he never wanted to use Geass on him ever till near death situation.
@@JakokokorokoNot really no, it’s not a blessing for a warrior. He’s a soldier, he wants to be in a position where he puts his life on the line for others, yet this geass prevents it, he cannot die for what he believes in
Josh is literally J.Johna Jameson against Suzaku lmao. “I knew he was a menace!”
The great LORD. Schneizel El Brittania is here. Made the coolest entry in the entire R1 and now gonna rock R2 with his absurd ideas....love that🥰🥰
Suzaku with Kallen delivering one of the best lines of all time "with this fish I shall pleasure myself" and Lelouch with Euphy kicking it back then the battle of Kyushu LFG
I love how Josh's brain melts every time Suzaku speaks
Edit: I think _as of episode 20_ , my comment might not apply as much. Feels like _finally_ there's been a shift in how they're willing to "tolerate" (for lack of a better word) Suzaku's fucking mental trauma and su*c*de-via-battle complex. I could be wrong, but hey.
I don't. I get it if he fucking hates his character, but man, that's no reason to miss half the lines in the show bitching about the same shit over and over... just roll your eyes and keep reacting, save the verbal curbstomp for the end ya know
@@frenchynoob This is the most disturbing Reaction channel I have seen, and I have seen a lot lol. Even though most reactors don't like Suzaku, they don't hate him with a passion like this guy. This takes away any enjoyment I have had for watching their discussion on other part of the show lol
@@minhsakura281 I think it's just that they fundamentally don't understand the character, and also that they refuse to use new information provided by the show to actually reevaluate their opinions. Eh.
@@frenchynoobyeah at this rate even by the next week episode, they might just say 'Get over it Suzaku, what's done is done...he didnt mean to do it"...I have seen reactors saying such stuff before so it's not impossible lol.
@@minhsakura281 I have no idea what reactors you have watched because from my experience he is hated by everyone (well deserve) If anything I am surprise their are Suzaku fans like yourself. To each their own I guess.
I was waiting for a discussion on why Lelouch, out of all the possible commands that he could give to Lelouch at that time, he got panicky and he told Suzaku to 'live', which is a much more risky command than something like "Get me out of here". Kinda shows where his priorities really lie
He didn't want to order one of his only genuine friends in the first place so he took the middle road by essentially giving Suzaku a blessing as well on top of having him save them both in that moment. Though of course if Suzaku knew about it he would definitely see it as a curse instead since he actively wanted to die at the time.
@@Jakokokoroko I think its a command that really shows you that Lelouch's personality trait: when emotional or panicky, Lelouch really doesn't make the most rational choice benefiting himself like the emotionless heartless calculating person he is "supposed" to be. He does accept casualties for his actions and his cause, but it's also pretty clear that he had a soft spot for his friends and ofc his sister
“Lelouch its you isnt it, I havent told anyone about you I swear” the innocence of Princess Euphemia makes me cry
When I tell you yall aren’t ready for the next couple episodes. Y’all aren’t ready!
Episode 23,24 and 25 you guys have to watch all in one video i promise you won’t regret it things get crazy and you feel it more when you watching it all at once it’s a must please 🙏
Suzaku and Princess euphemia, self doubt and thinking of themselves unworthy makes sense they've been dismissed and coddled and they loath themselves and they want to be happy , hence why they make such amazing couple and knight and princess, they complete each other.
The love confession between euphemia and Suzaku was amazing and same with the scene afterwards
The Lancelot and Garwin teaming up just like in king arthur lore. Also the Garwin is black and gold and has jackal head just like Anubis.
Its implied Rakshata and Lloyd once dated
There's little comments, like how she calls him the Earl of Pudding (his favorite food) in this episode - showing they know each other well/personally. And someone says something a bit more direct about it in R2
"I WILL NOW PLEASURE MYSELF WITH THIS FISH"
EVERY DAY
Great insights and discussion
Great reaction guys. You guys get it! every character has complexity and i love hearing other peoples perspectives
Mehgan theories are good because she analyzes the series and characters impartially while josh cant get over his hate for Suzaku. Josh really wanted Suzaku to die at the end of episode 20 huh
Suzaku is meant to be seen kind of as the villain rn tho , he is incredibly naive and idealistic and hypocritical.
@@Toshiboyai That is what makes him an an anti villain. He keeps telling himself that he is doing things to make them better, while every step he takes solidifies britannian power in Japan and removes their ability to resist their overlords. In addition even though he has clearly seen and been ordered by his superiors in the britannian army to do things that violate both his morals and whatever this world's equivalent of the geneva conventions is, he keeps telling himself it is for the greater good.
@@shadowfiresword I forget the name of the anime, but there's a fairly dark one where the MC is part of a rebel mercenary group and one of the antagonists is/was an innocent girl who had her sense of conviction twisted by her influences, which creates a similar situation to Suzaku.
@@unknowndane4754 Maybe Gundam 00? I remember one girl in that fitting the description iirc.
I think the mercenaries killed her whole family as accidental casualties and she became a soldier after that.
@@Jakokokoroko Found it, it's Akame Ga Kill.
Love these reactions. Also love the post talks they’re great for when I’m at work and just need to listen to something.
When you think about Suzaku put himself always in Dangerous situation and he seems don't care about It sono think that somehow he want to die so the geass to "live" can be the worst command for him
Also never forget table kun.
He died for Nina's sins...
Nah I get it, Lelouch should be cold and objective when it comes to leadership. The interesting aspect is that Lelouch agrees and knows this! You don’t have to tell him lol. The issue is that shit happens (to make the story interesting) and Lelouch crumbles under it. Remember Clovis? He killed him, but after he threw up because he was “soft”. Something Lelouch was surprised about. Is it frustrating? Yes. Is it interesting? Yes!
It’s also realistic and humanising to his character
This is a huge aspect that separates Lelouch from Light (Death Note) in my opinion. Light got the Death Note and within of one episode had zero remorse over killing anyone he deemed evil and later even anyone who opposes him. Lelouch can be cold and calculating as well but unlike Light he genuinely cares about Nunnally, Suzaku, Shirley, Kallen, Milly, Rivalz etc. and depending on the circumstances that can really trip him up and make him question his own actions. Light doesn't give a shit about literally anyone as soon as he has the Death Note (back) in his possession. That's why Lelouch is so much more interesting to watch and way easier to relate to imo.
yep! killed that detective coz he was onto him@@Jakokokoroko
next time comes the best joke in history of anime ever
Funtime Euphy
It’s not a joke, it’s a hyperbole. Why people don’t know what a hyperbole is?!
@@BB-hx4mj i mean if why use rhetorical devices
it is rather a Derision ... but yes a Hyperbole also fits
Next week will be _that_ episode.
46:28 😂😂😂😂😂
DO NOT READ THE TITLES OF THE NEXT EPISODES.
Those who know Arthurian legend knows what it means for Gawain and Lancelot to work together.
Been waiting for this one!
Naw, we all know the next two are the ones everybody is waiting for.
@@shadowfiresword episode 22 yeah 👀
They double teaming that nightmare 💀💀💀
Schniezel is my fav. I enjoyed your reaction and disscusion looking forward to the next one.
He's such an interesting character. I'm looking forward what these two will think about him as we go on.
I need that goodness too 😂
Omg I am so excited for the next weeks episode. Buckle up and do not I repeat DO NOT read the titles this time they are major spoilers.
I knew that was going to make it to the outtro 😭
The Gwaine...Lol
Great video
Thank you 😊💜
"Now he has a reason to live, which is Euphemia"
Mmhmm he finally has a real reason to continue breathing, after all these years since he was 10.
laying ones self bare to the gods is a common theme in many religions.
It’s C2..😓
Mehgan's theories are nuts and I love them. Some of them are similar to what I was thinking because of how lukewarm she is with everything. Whatever her goal is it definately seems like most of what's going on outside of Lelouch doesn't interest her.
“I will now proceed to pleasure myself with this fish”
Suzaku got on my nerves too all the time ahahah coz he wasnt on Lelouch's side
hooo boi... thes 2 still paddling on them board ... waves are coming ... it cannot be stopp... the storm of emotion will tremble them bneath thy feet ... ending season 1 .... and the tsunami of season 2 ....
i hope they watch the movie in the watch order...
First time watching CG I was kinda surprised at how much fanservice there was but not complaining though 😅
It's kinda refreshing to see actual nipples instead of the ridiculous edging and insane fanservice outfits in Anime where you instead see pretty much everything and more except for genitalia or nipples, lol.
English voice actors "C2" Japanese voice actors "C2" fans of the show "C2" youtube comentators "CeeCee"
btw really avoid the episode titles
going on from these ... could probbly TOP even tengentoppagurrenlagann
☕
I am totally fine with the discussion around Suzaku and your personal dislike of him. There's no doubt that his personality is filled with contradictions and I think a lot of his actions are made of self interest in keeping an image that started from him killing his father and rationalising it as avoiding casualties through that action, though it then caused the horrible suppression to claim quite a number of lives aswell.
Similar to what you two mention in your episode 19 discussion, Lelouch himself is also filled with contradictions between his very pragmatic goals and his humanity and his inability to seperate the two (which as mentioned makes him a more relatable character, rather than him being a rational machine, but at the same time, the cost is that he caused trouble for himself when something hits him personally). At the same time you hear him proclaim a grand scheme about a better world, while a large part of his motivation is just revenge and self interest in his family situation.
In comparisons to Death Note, Lelouch is often viewed a lot more positively because his world is a lot more brutal than Light's and therefor Lelouch going to the extremes he is and the power he's trying to fight is much more uneven than in Death Note.
Please can you not look at the titles starting this episode? It's okay if you look up the title after the episode. 🥺🥺 Cuz it'll be major spoiler.
I LOVE Suzaku, but I completely understand being so frustrated with him. I am constantly screaming at my screen over what a dumb dumb he is, but very much realistic to a really messed up kid.
Josh has such a hate boner for Suzaku lol. Clearly doesnt understand his character.
Nah, he understands, just gets frustrated, it's normal
I’ll say one thing your not right with you ideas on what’s going on but you are scary fkin close 😂😂😂😂😂
yall are too nice to suzaku
