Omg thank you! I was struggling to set out my comic since normally my comics I've made in the past use rectangles that are all the same/a similar size. I was reading a comic yesterday and realised how amazing the comic looked compared to mine, which didn't convey much emotion that I wanted to get from the reader since there were no dynamic panels, big panels or small panels. Everything was the same size. I was drawing a test comic to see if I like the layout as I had your video in the background, and when you mentioned some times when you will use big panels for important parts, I made one of my panels bigger since it was important. Thanks!
Of all the stages of comics, I find thumbnailing / storyboarding soooo difficult. Even after years of doing it it's still a stage that takes me 100 times longer than it should. I don't know why but it feels like pushing a boulder up hill just trying to convince myself to do it Dx
I have a scene thats like a vision/dream scene and i want to change the style of the panels to make it dreamy/wistful feeling but im struggling getting it to give that emotion,,, any advice or ideas??? All are welcome,,
Hmmm, maybe don't add borders around the panels and make it kind of fade/feather out at the edges instead, to get that wistful effect? Also, I've seen some artists choose a monochromatic tone to help distinguish a dream sequence or flashback from the main narrative, just an idea :)
Not connecting some lines can make it look softer. If it's in color, maybe go for pastels or darker colors if it's a nightmare. Colors can really help you set up the tone of the dream itself. Also, remember to include objects that would link up with your character(s) current mental state. Usually it's symbolic, something only the dreaming person would understand. You could also use typical dream themes. Like having clocks running quicker then they should or books with nonsense. Twisting the furniture and the general perspective could also work.

Paneling is so hard cause I tend to think really big for some reason >< I always find I have to resize my thumbnails and art to be smaller :”)
I can’t draw very small either
