Monster Hunter Frontier Z: First Espinas Hunt

- Hello everyone! This is my first hunt against the flagship of Monster Hunter Frontier, Espinas! Known as the Thorn Wyvern, this Flying Wyvern was introduced in Frontier Season 2.0, and is considered to be the flagship monster for the entirety of Frontier. All things considered, I think my first hunt against it went great!
This video was made possible through the efforts of the people behind the Erupe Private Server project, and through Fist's team for sharing the quest files online for anyone to use. As of this video, a private server is in the works from Fist's team that will have the most complete, stable, and enjoyable Frontier experience since the official shutdown. Fist's server should be coming soon! That'd be a great place to start for this game, especially if you want to avoid the hassle of setting up something through Erupe
It's really hard to set up, and a miracle I figured it out, took me a whole night, but if you get the client side running you could join a server.
To be honest I recommend doing the client side first because if something it wrong there it'll be easier to run back and find out what instead of running back from when you set up the server.

I'm using the High Grade Edition! I configured the client patcher to allow for the High Grade Edition to play, and made sure to have the game launcher recognize it too. If you want to learn how to do it, I suggest checking out the Erupe github page (ricochhet's page, to be specific) under the issues tab to find out more about implementing High Grade Edition!

when does the espinas theme start playing in this game?
If you're talking about the theme they use for Espinas in Sunbreak, that would be the Gou Rank version of the Great Forest theme. I actually have a Frontier hunt of a Gou Rank Espinas, if you want to check that out too!
What armor are you using cause I've been stuck on this boss for like a week and I feel like I'm just missing something
Edit: actually I found the armor and got it upgraded as far as it will let me and every defensive item I could find and I'm still taking like 5 times + the damage as you
This was back when I had hosted my own rudimentary private server, so there's a chance the monster's attack values may have been altered compared to the more recent public servers, I think...?
In any case, I'd recommend either getting a rasta or two to help out, or getting some people to help out in multiplayer. After this fight you'll be able to get more materials for upgrades, better weapons, etc., so that should help your journey

Ooh, nice to know! Haven't gotten to Sunbreak yet cuz I started a fresh save for PC, but I'm looking forward to his hunt!
@@MH_Dalam incredible 5th gen adaptation with its animations and how hefty it feels, it really feels like a huge truck crashing into you everytime it charges. Very much looking forward to either its rare or subspecies in title update 2, though I prefer the white one as I heard its ailments are overkill and I love ailment monsters lol
his behavior looks fucked at times, i assume because of multiplayer because i have seen it happen with fu.
Fair, I did have a Hunter NPC with me to help get some aggro off of me for this fight. Alone, though? He'll charge you down till kingdom come! Quite aggressive, and pretty erratic solo OR multiplayer, as you said
How much of the game is actually translated to english?
It's mostly just the items (or at least most of them), NPC names, skill names, and a few other minor things. If you're in it for the quests, you'll be able to do it fine without too much trouble, I imagine
Good to know that the quests, armor, skills, etc, are actually translated. Bummer that I can't understand the story, but at least I can play the game. One thing I need to figure out is fixing my controller having ZR/ZL being mapped to camera controls. Using a switch pro controller
