🏨🌄 Mike and Kate interview BC Conservative leader John Rustad, the third of three provincial leaders contesting the upcoming BC election to visit Hotel Pacifico in recent weeks. “Shot out of a cannon” as leader in March 2023, the Conservative leader has been riding an upward trajectory in the polls. Rustad discusses involuntary care, the state of BC’s finances, the carbon tax, and DRIPA, among other issues. Mike & Kate also probe Rustad on his parrot, Biardi, and how he plans to feather him into the campaign.

Good interview. I've heard Rustad on several podcast, but you were able to get some new information out of him. I understand Mike's frustration with the Eby flip flop. The NDP clearly have some good campaign strategists on board. Voters want to know what you're going to do, not what you've done. Eby was having no luck trying to convince voters that they've been doing a good job (based on polls). The Federal Liberals could borrow a page out of this playbook.

Geoff is a little off on his assignment of Rustad. I’ve listened to him on a number of recent podcasts, and he has started to win me over with some of his bigger picture thinking. While I totally agree with Mike thoughts on Eby’s late policy change on the carbon tax and involuntary care, seems miscalculated and a bit desperate.🤷🏻‍♂️ thanks for the great content 👍

How about if we stop pretending and acknowledge that people are unhappy with the NDP Eby leadership in the BC province. The NDP need to stop pretending that it doesn’t matter when their policies don’t work because we’re good people, or something. This man is substantial but these reporters wouldn't know that. He’s substantial, fair and a smart thinker. The man is a leader! Do merit not identity polititcs. Great guest, thank you.
