I have the Oxford Brevier Clarendon, a copy that was printed & bound in the 1890s. I keep fighting the urge to get a modern Allan copy, but all I need to do is open the old Oxford BC and the paper is absolutely opaque and amazing, and is so much better than any paper used in the last two decades. But yeah, the Allan cover is still so good.
I have this in the navy blue, Tim. It is a special bible, indeed, especially because of its cyclonopedic concordance! The paper is quite thin on the Brevier Clarendon, but the black typeface and compact size in the hand can’t be beaten. I also have the Longprimer in crimson red which has amazing paper and wonderful typeface. Allen really do make beautiful bibles!
I just picked one of these up a week ago in navy, and what a fantastic lil Bible. The oxford text block with the cyclopedic concordance is very nice and helpful
Don't you think the text block is very much like the old font of old bibles in the times new roman which was dark and archaic looking? This is ok for you??
@@destinycoach5 Yeah that was the appeal for me. I bought a Cambridge Turquoise KJV last year for the 1920's typesetting. I Like the antique looking text blocks in a KJV, I understand it may be hard for some to read or don't prefer the look however. Blessings to you and your family ✝
I just ordered the 7CP in purple goatskin. I don't know if I can wait for delivery!!! I'm so excited to be getting a quality Bible after years of reading a cheap copy of NIV. I really miss the KJV! There's nothing like a goatskin bound Bible!
I got saved in 2006 and when I did my first bible was a kjv. We had a house fire in 2019 in which I lost my first bible 😢I have been wanting to get a premium bible hopefully in the future I can get one. I have really been liking the csb and the net bible.
It was from a KJV, decades ago, that I learned to love a verse format, double column, center column reference Bible. I don't know whether I still have that KJV - that's not been my main translation for 20 years or more - but that layout and typeface look very familiar. I think that old Bible must've been a Cambridge. 🙂
I am now getting this urge to get get a collection of bibles. I really just wanted a couple of different translations but so far I have two and two on order . Three of the four are KJV. Not what I planned . However , three are first editions. But my treasure of them all is being shipped my first RL Allan . The first edition desk edition purple with gold and green speck gilt . 100 made .
Oh my….I know the Bible says “Thou shalt not kill,” but,…..this Bible would make it tempting. 😂 Beautiful. Would love to win this whenever it’s being given away. Will stay tuned.
I read a review of this bible in which someone called it a poor "dime store" printing. For anyone else who is wondering I have this bible (7C) in Navy and Black. There are characters in the text that are "misprinted" e.g. only half of a "P" or small ink marks around words, both bibles have the exact same printing mistakes. So it is not Allen's/Royal Jongbloed's printing. This must be from the original bible they scanned it from....
Nah..my least liked bible. Had one. Leading was tight for me. It's a readability issue with me. If you are in your 20s, great bible for the kiddos. Paper is good. It was just a conversational piece that I gave it away. KJV is great. Just about sums it up, "a nice collection"...lol

I literally got one of these 2 days ago! I needed your review lol. I have the Oxford 5WM and this is the best combo of any 2 Bibles!

@@Digable. Interesting. Ok tks. It's actually the reason I don't like them for I find that a very difficult font to read.
Tks for responding
2024 is the year of KJV for me, and this one is hard to ignore. I really like that one

That’s a very nice Bible 🙏🏼 and it’s compact enough to keep in a backpack while you’re not busy in class you can read.
So true!
Dang. I’m looking for a nice KJV and you may have just pushed me over the edge with this one. Been looking at it this week.
I love that black letter text! Thanks for the giveaway. Congrats to all that won.

My pleasure!

Please do a review on the Allan Ruby 103
I love compact or personal size still looking for my first premium Bible watched tons and tons of your Bible reviews thank you
Are there any differences in its interior compared to the Allen KJV 53C Long Primer? In the Cyclopedic Concordance?
That bible looks good my friend 🙏
This is actually feeding my rebind drive. 😂🙏
I just picked one up in a second hand store for just £4.99. Love it 😊

Tim, i really want this bible… My question …is tooled line or stitched perimeter ? Which one is reliable and with longevity and won’t fall apart?
Stitched
I love that Bible I just started doing reviews on my channel but don’t have all the lighting and mics lol
Beautiful Allan KJV Bible Tim! Love your posts! KJV, MEV, & ESV my Bibles.🌲
This should be a good one… I like my navy Clarendon.

I’ve got one that looks just like this one, but the box says it is a Brevier and it doesn’t include 7c on the box. Is it the same?
Allan has published editions without the cyclopedic concordance.
I like the BC but would still go with the Cameo due to thicker paper and better readability.
The Cameo is hard to beat, love the Cambridge paper and ink density!
Very nice!
KJV The perfect word of God for the English Speaking People. Thank you so much. A very beautiful Bible. God bless you Bill. Uk

It really is!

Exactly right.
Have you selected a winner yet?
How does the size compare to the evangelical Bible KJV Cambridge concord
Smaller
WOW! You have more Bibles than bricks in the Tower of Babel. If the even used bricks.😆
Love this Bible! Small and portable yet very readable. The blackface is a good one as well!
This is my carry bible.
Allen bibles are beautifully made however……I wish they start making Bibles in modern style and create their own formats like Schuyler does

22 GSM? Yikes, it’s like toilet paper!😊😊😊
This or the blackface?
Very nice!
