Linda Ronstadt had such a beautiful voice and could never be replaced...this was a good cover of her song. The question of the day is : How is it possible that Emmy Lou Harris only gets more and more gorgeous with age? It's simply not natural. Astounding!

Linda Ronstadt's song? You're mistaken. This was Roy Orbison's song back in the early '60s. I remember when Ronstadt came out with it many years later. I thought, "Oh, that's nice. She's covering Orbison." Today people think it was actually her song.
Emmy Lou always a beauty, that’s Surgery dude😄… And no question Linda Ronstadt, saw her in concert in 80s absolutely stunning, astounding vocals! This was a great cover, except turning up ones vocal volume overriding with two of the greatest on the stage, no need to say who that was, But she the closest to Linda Ronstadt’s powerful vocals!!! 👏✌️

In the 70's I sat in on Linda's jam in Tucson... did some picking and singing with her...back before my throat operations... Linda came over hugged me and a kiss thanked me... she was so tiny and beautiful!
I saw her at the Minus One in the 60s several times. She was already big with Different Drum and the Stone Poneys (and Bobby Kimmel came to Tucson with her so we got to hear him as well - I hear he is STILL knocking around and performing!). She was stunning AND her voice was beyond compare. Best Ever in my book. I saw her on stage in Pirates of Penzance (in New York before it was transferred to film) and she was amazing then as well... I love G&S and her rendition of Mabel was superb. Long Long Time still brings tears to my eyes.

Seeing and hearing Ronstadt was transformational for tough guys. This tribute makes one miss her even more. No one had a bolder, warmer voice than Linda.

Exactly, I don't know where some of these people coming from; Linda certainly did her share of 'loud' singing, call it shouting, screeching whatever. When she wanted to go mellow, I believe she was one of the best ever - not so much at red zone voice. Carrie can too (go mellow) - but she sells alot of songs the way she's doing.

Bonnie was clearly the best. I love Emmylou but her voice is no longer what it was. And Carrie Underwood? Well she was a hell of a lot better than she was in Sound of Music LOL but in the end, for me, she is still basically pop pablum and doesn't really measure up to either Bonnie or Emmylou OR Linda (obviously). Bonnie nailed it.

In the early 80s, I saw Linda at the Exit In in Nashville. It was a small room and I sat right in front of her. She sang Long Long Time right to me. I thought I would pass out. Never, before nor after, had that loving sensation at a concert.

I grew up in Tucson in the 60s and knew several of her brothers when we were in high school. She was already in LA with the Stone Poneys but she came back several times in the late 60s and did concerts at our local coffee house (The Minus One). Totally thrilling when I think about it in retrospect, but at that time, she was just the "girl from the hometown made good" and we just loved her being home singing to us. The. Best. Voice. Ever. (even including Barbara Streisand!). And yes, I am jealous of you too LOL! That must have been an incredible thrill.

Linda was in a vocal universe all her own. The devotional tributes to her golden pipes over the past few years is impressive. Truth is no one comes close to Ronstadt's power and warmth.

My husband of going on 40 years and I saw Linda in concert in Montgomery, AL back in 1980. She was awesome! Hard to believe it has been that long ago!

Heart felt tribute to the glory that was Ronstadt's voice. Makes one miss her rare and beloved pipes even more. Truth is she sang loops around her contemporaries - and exposes the modern top of the pops as the whiney autotune frauds that they are.

Very lovely, but it took 3 voices to try and capture the magic that is Linda and as good as they are in their own right they didn't come close. Linda's voice is a once in a lifetime gift and we are so lucky to have lived in the time of Linda Ronstadt. I first heard her as a young girl singing Blue Bayou and You're No Good in the 70's. Now in my final 59th year, I'm still listening to this goddess. Thank you for your gift, Ms Ronstadt we love you. ❤

You need to see the trio. Linda Ronstadt Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton. They did songs many years ago but because of their commitments they couldn't record them or release them I don't remember which. But when they did my God that was good!
She did a tribute to her Mexican heritage. Canciones de mi Padres (Songs of my father) It was on PBS in the late 80s. It was beautiful! Her voice, the songs. There's a CD as well. I loved it! All her music is great. There's no one like her.

I love Linda's version of this song, its a firm favourite. I remember singing along to her album on cassette tape in my lovely old Super Snipe as a teenager as I drove to Melbourne from Adelaide when returning to Tasmania in the late 70's!

Carrie has a naturally powerful voice. I think this performance could’ve been better if sound technicians lowered the volume of Carrie’s mic, or if Carrie sang her parts with some distance from the microphone. Just my thoughts. The original is Billy Holiday! She was and remains awesome. When I first listened to this song I was like I don't like her trying to redo a song by Billy! She has not the talent. Then I was amazed at her voice and gave her tribute. Listen to the song and like it for their take on it.
Billie Holiday died in 1959. Roy Orbison wrote “Blue Bayou” in 1963. Do the math.
I am not a great lover of Country & Western female singers but I like Linda Ronstadt (to me she has a blues voice not so much a C&W voice) but I must admit these 3 women (who I think are Country & Western singers) did a great job of Linda's signature song.

Having loved Linda's voice since the first day I saw her, and knowing her sad health condition, this amazing dedication by these three amazing women mad me cry! I was lucky to have seen her perform in her home town when I was stationed there in the Air Force! May God bless Linda! I will always adore this amazing woman!

@@charlespitts4698 Linda has Parkinsons diseases - one of the hundred or more variaitions of Dementia. I bet she can still sing better than anyone but she is so self-critical she wont allow herself to be heard singing because she thinks its not good enough.

Keep in mind that, as others have said, this was a tribute, not a competition. These ladies, and others at the same event, did songs that Linda was famous for, but that doesn't mean they had to try to sound just like her. Nobody can do that anyway! I don't know about anyone else, but I want Emmylou Harris (for example) to sound like Emmylou Harris, not like Emmylou-Harris-trying-to-sound-like-Linda-Ronstadt.
