Supercharged 200 series Land Cruiser or LX570 on 35s; and honestly anywhere I can see the stars. Unfortunately I’m a broke college student in the city 😅
3rd Gen 4Runner or an FJ80 and slap a 3” lift, 33” AT tires, and a rooftop tent on it!! Dream trip w this car would be alpine loop in Colorado or the pan American highway perhaps
having lived in the PNW for several years, I could just smell the nature thru my screen. my goodness this was incredible from start to finish, so worth the watch for that view at the end too. thank you for taking us along!
I was getting emotional seeing the view outside of your tent when you finished up in the FJ. This is what life’s about man. This is the life of not just automotive-enthusiasts; this is the life period. Thank you for sharing your experience with us Tedward. Definitely would build up a Tacoma for my overland rig. 🔥
Always fun to watch someone’s first offroading. Hint- at 8:45- put your lockers on before the obstacle so that you are locked as you approach it. You may not need them. That is fine. But if you do you’ll get stuck less and do less trail damage. The difference between the real world and social media is that in the real world it’s not cool to sit and spin and destroy the trails if you didn’t need to. Have fun out there.
As a lifelong PNW native and a 2014 FJ Trail Teams addition owner, I’ve driven on those same back roads. Brings back some great memories. The FJ is a phenomenal off road vehicle! So analog, with everything you need and nothing you don’t. I can’t ever see myself selling it.
Tedward I've been a fan for about 2 years now and your videos this past year have been phenomenal. I know in your one video you said you wanted/were getting our of your comfort zone more and it's definitely paying off (i.e. this video is beautiful and engaging, its more than just a pov drive). I also want to say oddly enough your videos have been very inspiring to me this year as I try to get out of my comfort zone as well. Keep doing cool things, but don't forget about what makes you comfortable!
I'm not sure if it's just the time in my life that I'm going through, but this video made me surprisingly emotional. I can't wait to get back out into nature. Thank you for making this.
about to get my first truck. it isnt much (1st gen honda ridgeline) and while not the most capable offroad vehicle - extremely grateful to get it for free from my dad as a gift. I know it isnt the most capable, but coming from a lowered nissan I am infinitely excited to push its limits and go off the beaten path. thank you for this treat.
This is why I traded in my RCF for a TRDOR Tacoma. So much more possibilities for adventures. Have a quick car was great but being out in nature and exploring is just so much more refreshing. Being able to just park and pop a tent up wherever you want is so fun. Living in the PNW makes it easier, too.
I’ve been a big sports car enthusiast and race fan for a long time. We moved to Denver recently though so I got rid of my sports cars and got a raptor for some light overlanding. To my amazement…no regrets and I’m not even missing the go fast cars. Absolutely loving the truck and adventures it enables
I actually bought a 1st gen Toyota Sequoia for this exact reason 2 months ago and have been fixing it and upgrading it since. Super excited to do some wheeling in the snow. I agree, off road vehicles can be so helpful to a car enthusiast.
I had a ohh really intimidating day & just seeing the mother nature with all those literally breathtaking views just healed me, God Bless you, thank you indeed
Long have we waited, offroad Ted activated. Hands down one of the best videos I've seen in a while, definitely the best video of yours recently and I don't even have interest in offroading. I think your persona and a very casual offroad approach made this watch so entertaining. A fantastic way to show offroading to the people not interested in it, because now I want to go offroading myself or at the very least see you do more of that. That said, the moment you got stuck in the Bronco was nerve wrecking, I would've panicked and asked someone to clear that for me 100%. :D Honestly I found FJ the most impressive, perhaps that's because I don't look at offroad vehicles from the beauty perspective but more from the value/reliablity/capabilities to cost ratio. I was mindblown you cleared that hillside climb, I was 100% sure at 19:00 that you're not gonna make it.
I personally think people who have the funds and space should own two cars. 1: either a fuel efficient comfortable car or a fast luxury car (depending on budget), 2: either a truck or SUV with at least a 3000lb tow rating depending on wether you find yourself hauling stuff or people more. If you don’t have the funds or a place with multiple parking spots then I think Jack of all Trades cars like the Subaru Outback can’t be beat.
i might be kinda late to comment + i dont usually comment on videos, but this was an amazing video 20/10 i have seen some of your videos before since youtube usually recommends me car related stuff (i myself like cars a lot so i dont mind) but this made me feel somenthing for offroading n exploring, before i didnt really care about offroading that much since i thought "oh big SUV or truck with big wheels crawls over stuff" but after seeing the view at the end of the video it was amazing, really opened my eyes to some stuff i didnt really use to make too much thought out of it. im gonna see if i ever buy an FJ or any good Truck to go and do this kind of stuff when im a bit older. ik this comment wont make too much sense english is not my 1st language so im naturally not that good at it but im trying to get better day by day. thanks for this amazing video.
I watched this video the day it came out. I've rewatched it 5+ time since. This is one of my favorite videos on youtube. Please make more content like this :)
One thing you said that really is true about off roading. Tires are one of the biggest improvements you can make. Or an extra set of trail tires. After that lockers.
as much as I don’t like independent suspensions off-road, those LR3s are really something special. The design of the air suspension is very cool. And wow! The fj’s traction control worked so well on that hill!
Getting deep into the woods with any offroad vehicle is just so nice. I remember when I had the opportunity to ride on top of a mountain with a snowmobile with some hardcore dudes, it was crazy experience. I got thrown into the deep end immediately :D
YESSSSSSSS I’ve been looking forward to this one! Looks absolutely epic! And if you think Rainier’s pretty from there, wait till you see Rainier National Park itself 😏 Thanks for bringing us along for the Tedventure!
Awesome! And I say that as a dude who has taken an X5 on three road trips from PA to the National Parks in the Rocky Mountain west this year. Some people think I'm crazy for driving that far - almost 20,000 miles combined, but to me it was as much about the driving experience as the destination. Now for an overlander - I'm thinking Toyota or Lexus for reliability, but the Bronco looked pretty good too. Thank you for sharing this!
I am a long time compact car enthusiast, anything from Sentra SE-R's to an Elantra Sport 6MT. (great car BTW) I sold it off to my brother and purchased a 2006 Pathfinder 4WD with 68k miles on it for $10k. One of the things I NEVER did with my compact cars was take them off a paved surface. So having the Pathfinder has opened up a whole new world to me, being able to see things and go places that I had never been. Currently it has a 1.5" lift and some 32" tires, but hoping to add a 1" body lift and go up to 33's soon. I wanted an Xterra but the good ones and anything with a Pro-4X badge on it still sells for $15k++. The Pathfinder is pretty much the same save for IRS instead of a solid rear axle (which limits it's off road capabilities) but I'm happy with it. Just got back from my 2nd trip to Moab this year and can't wait to go back.
Such a different video from you but so good. Thanks for sharing this. Own a 22 civic si courtesy of yours truly and bought my wife a rubicon earlier this year. Haven’t off roaded it yet but man am I tempted now.
Tedward, I have been following for years and this has been the best video you have put out! Really hoping to see more content like this in the future. It looked like an absolute best.
Love your video! You are absolutely right about car enthusiasts, tho! I got rid of all my toys and bought me a wider off-roader, but still very capable Gen3 Raptor. Building it up as an overlanding/travel the continent/end-of-world scenario rig. What I would like to see more of for an overlanding build: like what the F150 Powerboost did as a mild hybrid truck that acts as a power generator with 7.2kW of power you can access without having the truck on until you use all the power. Been wanting to hit up Utah when I graduate from school and roam over to Yellowstone, then over towards Yosemite in a span of 2 months mostly living off the land and such.
As a Discovery 1 user, It´s really cool to see so many Land Rovers on that event, there in the USA (at least on youtube) it's pretty rare to see them. Great vid! Greetings from Argentina!
It’s my absolute dream to build a 911 Dakar tribute with the full sleeper on the roof and everything and then take it on some old logger trails in the PNW and Canada. Glad you’re doing almost exactly that. Basically fulfilling my dreams and making me more excited for the future to come.
Gotta say, you're a better driver _and_ ballsier than most. I know I probably would've pinstriped the ever loving f**k out of that Bronco against those trees 😅
I have ALWAYS, for about 10-12 years at least, believed that. I had a Miata for 11 years, but felt I needed something more practical, so I got a GREAT old Toyota 4Runner (sold the ‘94 Miata). She has 4WD of course, buy also a 5-speed transmission, rear differential lock, etc. With the MT, I feel like I’m driving a sports car every minute! My sports cars (a 2013 BMW 128i and a 1997 Mazda Miata) are faster and handle better, but within its limits, the 4Runner is FINE! I must say, I enjoy driving the 4Runner about as much as I enjoy the other cars. If I had to choose just one of them to keep forever, it might be the 4Runner…
Please get a truck!! I own a heavily modified b5s4 and recently picked up a Tacoma as a daily/overland rig and it’s been so much fun! Would highly recommend getting into a truck/suv (definitely go for a shorter wheelbase midsize truck or suv if you’d wanna do serious off roading) and checking it out for yourself!
I am still waiting for CSX to deliver my damn Bronco, but man this makes me wish I lived in the PNW instead of FL just for these trails/views. I will road trip there at some point.
Man I recently picked up a 4x4 5 speed XJ Cherokee at a really good price, and I was totally gonna flip it, but you're really making me reconsider that decision lol I think I need to do this at least once before I get rid of it. Great video Tedward!
Destination MT2 wear like iron. I have 65k miles on the set on my 2500HD and they are still going. I just put a set on my FJ Cruiser based on my experience with them on my pickup.
What overland rig would you build? And where is your dream camping trip?
Supercharged 200 series Land Cruiser or LX570 on 35s; and honestly anywhere I can see the stars. Unfortunately I’m a broke college student in the city 😅

Ngl I want a last gen Colorado zr2 but lifted with 33s in red
1st gen cayenne turbo is my dream overland
LR3 with roof tent and some wild places in Balkan peninsula.
having lived in the PNW for several years, I could just smell the nature thru my screen. my goodness this was incredible from start to finish, so worth the watch for that view at the end too. thank you for taking us along!
Tedward videos are honest to god one of my favorite parts about being a car enthusiast

Between the Gridlife Toter-home adventures and this, loving all the more vlog style content!
Specifically liking them still being POV :)
Great, now I have to buy a truck.
I was just thinking 'hmm I'm in the mood for some Tedward' and lo 'n behold he's uploaded a new video
Nice
You have made it to the instagram story
What I like about these rigs is that they are what most of us have, none of those extreme builds that are more aspirational than achievable.
Love the FJ. Things a beast, minus the blind spots😅
Like driving with the visibility of a mail slot 😂
@@TedwardDrives I have an FJ. Rear and side views also suck! But it's great fun offroad.
I'm not sure if it's just the time in my life that I'm going through, but this video made me surprisingly emotional. I can't wait to get back out into nature.
Thank you for making this.
Dude. This is amazing!! Thanks for an amazing video. I have a FJ but where I live there aren’t any roads like this. You’re very lucky!
2012. Quicksand 🤙🏽
Thanks for the shout out buddy, great hanging out!
Had the best time! Thanks for showing me the rig
I love your energy
You made me a car enthusiast
Great contents❤
This was excellent. Looks like an amazing time, though occasionally stressful.
Definitely one of my favorite videos on UA-cam, now I have a new goal in life, thanks Ted ❤

I don’t think I’ll ever get the opportunity to do something like this. But thanks for doing it for me and capturing it on video
This beautiful video reminded me of all the times I had to camp for the WRC rallies… arriving at night and waking up to that amazing view.
I actually bought a 1st gen Toyota Sequoia for this exact reason 2 months ago and have been fixing it and upgrading it since. Super excited to do some wheeling in the snow. I agree, off road vehicles can be so helpful to a car enthusiast.
Really, really good video, I think you should definitely do more road trips.💪🚘
I couldn't agree more. It's a whole other world of driving fun. And the camera never does it justice!
I go off-roading with my bestfriend in her manual lifted wrangler and it’s so much fun. This trail looks absolutely stunning!
I had a ohh really intimidating day & just seeing the mother nature with all those literally breathtaking views just healed me, God Bless you, thank you indeed

Absolutely loved this video
thank you for sharing this moment with us bro. it helps me picture the type of stuff I wanna be doing in the next couple years :)
Great to see you having such a good time in the forest. It looks incredible.
Tedward, I have been following for years and this has been the best video you have put out! Really hoping to see more content like this in the future. It looked like an absolute best.
This video was amazing seriously. Please do more like this.
Ive got a 97 ranger 4x4 5 speed as my overlander. A 93 miata as my weekend car, and a 7th gen Accord v6 as the daily. Perfect cars for each task imo.
Love your video!

It’s the mud taps for me 👏🏻
This was a great vid, nice change of pace with this one! Nicely done.
One of the best things I did as a photographer was trade the sedan for something more offroad capable.
More people need to watch this. What an absolute adventure.
Amazing video. Looks like a fantastic trip. That view at the end is amazing. I’m jealous
More of this kind of content, please! How insanely beautiful
super cool video, i like this vlog style combined with the pov for events like this one
It’s my absolute dream to build a 911 Dakar tribute with the full sleeper on the roof and everything and then take it on some old logger trails in the PNW and Canada. Glad you’re doing almost exactly that. Basically fulfilling my dreams and making me more excited for the future to come.
Videos like this make me rethink getting rid of my Xterra.
That looks really fun. Amazing scenery too! Oh and loved the reaction to the F18, I do the same when a cool plane flies overhead lol. Loved the video!
Hope you do more overload/offroading videos, love them so much
Lr3 still the best to do it. Self leveling suspension is so good for camping.
Best video I've seen from this channel
You gotta do more of these man. Epic video.
That looks like a fun adventure, absolutely beautiful views!
This was amazing, I definitely want to see more trips on the channel
Jammer of a video! Great overlanding rigs across the board. Amazing PNW views. Keep an eye out for a 2010 FJ TTSE bopping around here in greater BOS.
Gotta say, you're a better driver _and_ ballsier than most. I know I probably would've pinstriped the ever loving f**k out of that Bronco against those trees 😅

Darn, Tedward on fire showing us these sick rides every other day. Love this channel, keep them vids coming!
One of my favorite videos of yours!
Dude more of these videos please!
Wow awesome trip! Definitely do more! Id have to go with a Tacoma build myself and this adventure makes it tempting!
Definitely must have an 4x4 off-roader in a your stable, because driving on pavement/road-track is only half of the Motorsport world!
The MT2's are fine on the highway. Mine have seen 10 states and five winters and are still going at 65k miles.
We sure need more offroad pov's
Please get a truck!! I own a heavily modified b5s4 and recently picked up a Tacoma as a daily/overland rig and it’s been so much fun! Would highly recommend getting into a truck/suv (definitely go for a shorter wheelbase midsize truck or suv if you’d wanna do serious off roading) and checking it out for yourself!
Happy to see an FJ my bb 😊
WE NEED MORE!
It was amazing, thanks.
I like how you switch it up, your on camera!
Looks like a blast. I’ve been thinking of getting the Toyota forerunner TRD PRO.
Would love to see how you would build out an LX or land cruiser. Some great trails up in NH/VT. check out main line overland!
Freaking cool bro, can't wait to get me a tacoma and start putting a lot of work to get it for over landing. 😍
I am still waiting for CSX to deliver my damn Bronco, but man this makes me wish I lived in the PNW instead of FL just for these trails/views. I will road trip there at some point.
Pls try to do a fj cruiser pov drive+ review on the roads
Man this video was awesome! Please do more off road videos!!
My comfort channel
Man I recently picked up a 4x4 5 speed XJ Cherokee at a really good price, and I was totally gonna flip it, but you're really making me reconsider that decision lol I think I need to do this at least once before I get rid of it. Great video Tedward!
The shots of the second camp view gave me goose bumps. I might have to take my wrx out there. Think it will make it?
There are some much easier ways to get there than the way we took. I think you might be ok
I've been actually thinking about buying a vehicle overlanding these past few weeks, and here you are making an overlanding video 😂
Destination MT2 wear like iron. I have 65k miles on the set on my 2500HD and they are still going. I just put a set on my FJ Cruiser based on my experience with them on my pickup.
That FJ cruiser 👍
Off-road Ted! I felt like I was on the trip 🤙🏻 awesome content
