My dad was an alcoholic and this song has always been the song that hits me like a sucker punch every time, also his favourite thing to teach me was always learn from your mistakes so when the line “I promise you I will learn from my mistakes” feels like it’s a line that I would have written to say to my father. Thank god I had 2 years with my dad sober before he passed
Ok. About 23 (ish) years ago i was on the internet and i came across this band doing a song called shiver. I went to school and was in my science lesson singing it and my science teacher came up and said "what are you singing?" So i said, sorry sir you wont know them they are some unknown band i found called coldplay. And he said, i know them very well, my nephew is the lead guitarist. Not long after they had a big chart hit with their song "Yellow". so my claim to fame, my science teacher in high school was Jonny Bucklands uncle. LOL
I agree, Chris. Grief is the price you pay, but love is always worth it. When I lost my husband, almost 8 years ago, I was broken entirely ... the pain was both excruciating and exquisite, because I knew that to feel that much grief, I had been blessed with the best, truest, purest unconditional love I could have wished for. Time does help. The grief and missing doesn't go away, or get 'easier', but you learn to live with it. I was blessed, in a way that many aren't, and I will always be grateful for that ❣
I was at the concert where this video was recorded in July 2005 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England. I can honestly say that this was the best concert I've ever been to. That includes Seeing Coldplay last month at Wembley Stadium in London (which was fantastic) They are an amazing band to see live, and have a massive archive of great songs. If you ever get the chance, go and see them 🙂
I totally recommend you react to the Coldplay song "Amazing Day"live at the Rose Bowl. This is my my favorite Coldplay song and I would seriously use this as my wedding song.
I'm surprised you've never heard this before! This song is so beautiful and emotional but it is especially important to me, personally, because it reminds me of my older sister who passed away as an infant. For many years, my family would go to a service near Christmas that was open to anyone who had lost a child. One year, they had a woman on piano playing music through the service, and at one point all was silent as she played this song. It was so beautifully played, and I already really liked this song. I remember tearing up, and you could just feel all emotion in that room.
Aww "Dad" you seem to have that good heart, for the reaction and also for your family. Isn't music that great connection to each other no matter we're are in life. How can I not give a Thumbs up 👍
This song always makes me cry. It’s brings such a powerful combination of heartbreak and hope at the same time. I feel such an emotional release when I listen to it.
I had left a comment but it’s disappeared😞 I found this reaction last night, I was looking for this song and you popped up so it was a lovely surprise!☺️ Why can’t people just be kind? it costs nothing but is so precious, words or even a lack of words can really cut deep when you have a fragile heart💔 I wish I had a tougher skin. Your tender reaction was beautiful. You’re a very special guy ❤️❤️
Coldplay are my absolutely favorite band this song makes me cry everytime , I saw Coldplay at Wembley last year and wow what amazing band to sing live love Coldplay
My girlfriend loves Coldplay, we went to see their show in Santa Clara in May 2022. The music was awesome and the visuals were amazing. Probably the best concert I've ever been to. Definitely recommend!
I think I just fell in love a little bit. He wrote this song for his wife (at the time Gwyneth Paltrow) when she came home crying and upset after her father died.
I appreciate about your story about yourself. I kinda didn't quite understand certain things before I started to hear comments on some of my 'crushes' and at the time of college and later on too about what they felt about me and what they had thought at the time and to my bitter revelation, I had read them wrong and looking back now it is obvious what was my problem. I wasn't confident enough and didn't know enough. This leads to this conclucion that no matter what is the response to your actions and approach, if you don't do anything you will literally walk by( off )your happiness. If you have this feel in your gutz you just have to go for it no matter what, 'If you don't even try, you never will know either' and that is the risk worth taking and not later on think those situations with bitterness... as you cannot ever turn back time. If someone has crush on you or is in love with you, make it worth for it too.
You absolutely need to wat h the Live Sao Palo version since this impacted you. That entire live performance is legend. Every song performed is phenomenal
Filmed at Bolton Wanderers Football Stadium about 30 miles from where I live. My friends were in the crowd. Very jealous. What a song. It will live forever!
So late to the game, so many shared and equally debatable thoughts. So many parallels, regardless, enjoyed this immensely Larry. I didn’t think I’d be here to view older content, but here I am. Enjoying your reviews.
Oh man !! Just listening to you speak and your thoughts .. you and Coldplay are about to become best friends lol you ain’t heard or seen nothing yet !! They are INCREDIBLE.. watch their live stuff it’s insane
This video was filmed in my home town of Bolton, North West England. I was gutted to have missed the concert, I was in Germany for work. Saw them at Wembley last month...aaaaamaaaazing
Hi Chris Im happy you enjoyed this. Its so nice when the crowd is singing along. Its worth it. Love. Its worth every tear and heartbreake. I think that my 23 years with my abusive ex made me strong in knowing what kind of love I wanted. I dated a few but said goodbye when it didnt feel right. Now I have found a man who loves me in the most incredible way. And bevouse of my past Im ready to appritiate him and loving him in the right way. Im happy. Love is beautiful 💛 This last saturday was a little scary. I was driving thrue town when I saw a man in his 30s high on drogs and really psykotic beeing and old lady who just happen to walk by him. She was 83. I stoped the car and ran over there. I yelled at the other people to call 911 and I ruched over to help her. I tryed to awoid him while seeing if the lady was still alive. She was so I tried to help here. After a few min 2 guards come running and they could hold down the young man. I tryed to stop the bleeding and talked to her both to calm her down and saying it will be ok and make her lay still until the ambulance come. It took 20min until the ambulance come and 30min until the police come. It was a little scary but I tried to keep her alive. The hospital later said she had life thretening wounds but she is alive. I hope she will be well soon. I hope you are ok my sweet friend. Stay safe 💛
To me, the way he tries to "fix us" is literally through the song. How many of us, after losing a lover or family member, turn to music for coping and healing? This song is healing for me when I feel like I'm at my lowest.
This song for me represents such a tough time for me! 10 years ago I had a miscarriage while at work my boss drove me to the dr where he confirmed my worst fears and then my boss drove me home, this was the first done to come on the radio while we drove and it’s stuck ever since. Chris is an incredible talent and so down to earth be prepared to love Coldplay
I think love goes to waste when someone else squanders your loyalty and devotion, someone who doesn’t/can’t/won’t/unable to love you back. A pet blossoms with your love so that is not love going to waste. It a wonderful thing❤️
Yes! You finally did it! Love this song! Helped me so much through life. Coldplay is such a great band. Great vocals, great song writing. There’s just so many bangers to recommend you to watch. I’d say listen to their song ‘Paradise’ next. Love your vids and how you’re able to connect your life to the lyrics. Looking forward to the next video
Im listenting to Coldplay these days again a lot! heard their last albums now the first time and wow there are some really great treasures again and such beautiful videos full of art. Magic pure this band. You should absolutely listen to all their songs, also Amsterdam, Up and up, Daddy (very emotional), Up in Flames, Your Love Means Everything. Coldplay is like Radiohead and REM. No song dissapoints and they have a message for life. True Artists. Fix you is one of the top 5 Songs for me. love the energy at the end. also a Good Songs for jogging
What a day. Witnessed a death today. Not my lady. But still. Very peaceful for this man. Needed your smile. More than you'll ever know darlin!!!!! Thanks so so much Chris.
They are on a world tour at the moment, I went twice to london, it was a night of everyone singing together, Chris says we are one big band, and we were, it was just epic, coldplay connect like no other
I think that what Chris actually ment was that we can fell and think that all of our love and good deeds sometimes had gone in vain, but that isn't true as every single good act or even a good word to someone else matters. So crazy u just did this video! I have a few songs I randomly will look for reactions on and I JUST did this song a few days ago! I also do LIKE A STONE by AUDIOSLAVE. I love watching people hear that for fist time.
I always interpret that song as whatever goes on in life, you can always go to whoever you class as 'home' & they'll try to help fix you. Bit like your sons going home to you & feeling able to be vulnerable because they know they need that connection with you to heal from whatever it is that's hurting. Like you say, we all need that human connection & each person in our lives can do that differently. Parents, siblings, spouse, or friends. It's all different but emotionally can makes a whole. It's why when we don't have it, it's craved & such a huge loss emotionally & we seek those qualities in others. That's my take on it anyway. Lol
check out "the hardest part" and "fun" by them. they don´t get recommended often but they are about breaking up. politik, in my place and adventure of a lifetime are my favorite three (i listen to coldplay for 22 years now). but basically you can pick any song and you will never be disappointed. some songs you have to listen to a few times though until they get you.
I would love you to make a video on wrecked by imagine dragons. It’s such a good song and hits you right in the feels. Not to mention Dan Reynolds, the lead singer, has such a powerful voice!
You should react to a live concert one, especially which they did in sao paulo, the energy is insane, and it’s really touching. Coldplay - Fix you (Live in Sao Paulo) the video’s title. Cheers!
Your kid sounds solid, honestly and that's what's going to get him a really nice girl in the end, I know its rough when u can't give them something you think they might need but just let it be, it'll work out.
she was suffering with postpartum depression when her dad died unexpectedly. Chris was given her dad's organ and he wrote this song for her on that organ

But this song is actually very deep one.
Also you Larry jumped to a very important thing on everyone's lives , the relationships and and as you said , some people can be better just by themselves, but most of us want to share our lives and thought and experiences with someone close and I do think that women do compliment men if the relationship is on a solid ground. The bit ugly part on all of this is that sexuality and those needs are overy exposed in our world today, but the fact is that if you like someone, the sex is the most easiest thing to go right and all the other things are the hard ones. A strong appeal towards someone is a good start but there has to be way more to make a real relationship. One comedian in our TV-Shows said once in a one scetch that if men just picked their women as carefully as their cars, there would be no problems in their marriages :)
I was on a Coldplay conzert last month. It was the best day of my life! If you have the chance, you have to go there too. Would love to see more Coldplay reactions from you :)
Re: The Scientist video and him learning the song backwards....In this video he does a lot of slow motion (as when the song starts). To make this work, he had to sing the song at double the pace!
Their live performance of this last week at Wembley Stadium was magical. Such a powerful song. I highly advise watching some of their live performances, especially Viva La Vida.

Great story. I bet you were shocked to hear that.
‘Yellow’ by Coldplay is a MUST. one of the best songs ever created 🤷♀️
I agree, Chris. Grief is the price you pay, but love is always worth it. This song always makes me cry. It’s brings such a powerful combination of heartbreak and hope at the same time. I feel such an emotional release when I listen to it.
It hits harder when you learn that it was written for his wife at the time (Gwyneth Paltrow) to help her with the passing of her father.

You too Sandy!
Thank you very much for an amazingly beautiful reaction, Chris 🙂 Coldplay is one of my favorite bands 🙂 Love from Norway♥♥♥♥♥
It became the fashion for a while to hate on Coldplay for the sake of it. They have made some absolute bangers.
I love how music can bring a smile to someone’s face ( like yours), n then make you feel many other emotions . Music is the story book of our lives.
Coldplay are my absolutely favorite band this song makes me cry everytime , I saw Coldplay at Wembley last year and wow what amazing band to sing live love Coldplay

Im a hardcore metal head. Seen them a few times live. utterly smash it. Crazy prod, and just pure class as a live act.
This song is one of the greatest songs of the last 20 years

That's wonderful news! You deserve a great guy! So glad you were there for the woman as well. Blessings to you!

Chris, a well-seasoned artist. He proposes to fix us all through his music 😌
you should watch their live concert in sao paulo, Brazil, performing the same song. its one of the best things i have watched online.
Great band...
Love your videos Larry! You always brighten my day.
Thanks so much!
Im listenting to Coldplay these days again a lot! heard their last albums now the first time and wow there are some really great treasures again and such beautiful videos full of art. I love this song even though it gets me in the feels. Reminds me of my mom that passed a few years back.
What a day. Witnessed a death today. Not my lady. But still. Very peaceful for this man. Needed your smile. More than you'll ever know darlin!!!!! Thanks so so much Chris.
Oh no, I'm so very sorry! Hugs coming atcha. Take care my friend.

Thanks for reacting to Coldplay! I would also recommend their songs Us against the world and Everglow. I think you will really love them 🙂
If you do more Coldplay, Viva la Vida needs to be next. I guarantee you'll love it.
PLEASE react also to one of the newer live versions of Fix You. The one from São Paulo is absolute amazing
I think that what Chris actually ment was that we can fell and think that all of our love and good deeds sometimes had gone in vain, but that isn't true as every single good act or even a good word to someone else matters. Sometimes a small gesture of good faith and will can cherish someone's life more than you could even expect. A sky full of stars
Just to let you know Larry Coldplay is not just one person it's a band
You need to see this performed live
I would love you to make a video on wrecked by imagine dragons. It’s such a good song and hits you right in the feels. Not to mention Dan Reynolds, the lead singer, has such a powerful voice!
Yessss, my favorite band. Dan has such an soothing yet powerful voice🤧
I'm sorry about the loss of your pet, friend.
I lost my dog in December and, yes, it still feels like yesterday.
✌🙏🐶
You should react to a live concert one, especially which they did in sao paulo, the energy is insane, and it’s really touching. Coldplay - Fix you (Live in Sao Paulo) the video’s title. Cheers!
Your kid sounds solid, honestly and that's what's going to get him a really nice girl in the end, I know its rough when u can't give them something you think they might need but just let it be, it'll work out.
This song was written for his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow to comfort her, after the death of her father, Bruce Paltrow
Wow I didn't know that thanks for the info :)
she was suffering with postpartum depression when her dad died unexpectedly. Chris was given her dad's organ and he wrote this song for her on that organ
In my place, clocks and the scientist are some really great tracks :)
🔥❤
Seen them twice in glasgow last time was just before this gig in bolton where they filmed this video, song was for the lose of his wife at time gwyneth paltrow for the lose of her father
Amo essa música e o show que ele fez no Brasil. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
What I did never during these years realized that Chris was singing to Gwyneth.. oh man and what woman so no wonder Chris had his feelings still left... But in my case you Larry said, if you love someone beeing it your relative or your girl or wife or your friend the love is still there and it won't vanish or turn to non existence ever. But this song is actually very deep one.
Just for context, if nobody else posted it, this was written by the lead singer to his wife when her father died.
He wrote this song for his then wife Gwyneth Paltrow after her father died.
you'll have to watch live versions of this
Just found this channel and I have a lot of catching up to do!
Also you Larry jumped to a very important thing on everyone's lives , the relationships and and as you said , some people can be better just by themselves, but most of us want to share our lives and thought and experiences with someone close and I do think that women do compliment men if the relationship is on a solid ground. Would love to see more Coldplay reactions from you :)

Chris, you should check out Angelina again, she put out a cover of Elvis, Suspicious Minds. I think you will be amazed.
I think this was written about his then wife Gwyneth Paltrow after her father died. She went into a very deep depression.

This was great! You should definitely listen to Everglow by them, it's my favorite song
Day FOUR of asking for Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part5”!!!! Going daily til it’s DONE🙌

Re: The Scientist video and him learning the song backwards....In this video he does a lot of slow motion (as when the song starts). To make this work, he had to sing the song at double the pace!
