Bringing up music is really what thought me the lesson about this kind of damage. I've lost probably half of the sound experience of listening to music from concerts without protection, and I do not want to lose any more of something I love so much.
I just got my license about 7 months ago. I rode a few weeks without ear plugs, got some cheap plugs and didn't notice much difference... I actually lost them on the second day or so and didn't bother to get new ones. Then a few months later I figured I'd give it another go with some pretty expensive "extreme" plugs... And boy what a difference does that make at higher speeds!! I never ride without proper plugs again.
Yes correct. Its a good idea to get some better ones that really fit into your ears. Avoid those foam earplugs.. they dont do much protection, especially on longer rides.
Yes exactly. I suggest to avoid the use of headphones completely, especially those small in-ear earbuds. Once you get tinnitus due to hearing damage you absolutely have to protect your ears at all costs with no exceptions.
I've noticed hearing loss from riding around for years on my ebike. Just wind noise alone will do it. Don't think that just because you're on a 125 you'll be fine. You won't. I wear noise cancelling buds now.
Well if you are using quality earplugs you will still hear the new exhaust note pretty well or even better. The earplugs im using reduce the overall loudness but also filter out the most annoying high frequencies like wind noise from the helmet. With earplugs I hear the engine/exhaust far better. Considering an exhaust upgrade myself.
Hi, I discovered your channel a few days after a road trip in Italy - Slovenia - Austria, and I recently started to pass my motorcycle license. Hopefully I will have the chance to visit your beautiful country once again. Thanks for the great videos.
Yes exactly. Your ears are just not used to such loud sounds anymore (which is good). When you ride without earplugs and expose yourself to loud sounds the brain automatically lowers the perceived loudness ie. you get used to it.. the damage to the hearing stays the same however.
Hello fellow Slovenian 😊, great channel you have here. I really like watching your riding videos especially because im also from Štajerska region and ride the same roads as you sometimes. As I noticed myself I have been riding for my 2nd year now and I wasnt wearing earplugs till now...... so there is definitely some hearing damage and ringing. There is also quite a lot of noise at my job. Very nice of you to talk about this important topic. Keep up with good videos! ✌
I will pause the video, just to tell you my point. I have hearing problems from child. I using hearing aid and in my drive license I have a note - the driver need to use hearing aid when drive! Instead of switching it off to protect my hearing I need to keep it on in case if cop stopped me... (I talk about driving out of the city, when the wind blow my mind...)
I've been using noise cancellation on my airpods from day one of riding... never been realized how loud sometimes my rev could be. Great appreciation to all my loving neighbors.
Thanks for a very informative video 👍 I have the same bike new got last week 6 miles on it, its bad hear in the UK lots of bad weather 👎 its a small thing to get some ear plugs with a massive advantage to your hearing so thanks again ✌I get what you mean also ear plugs will make your hearing whilst riding more sensitive to your focus riding thanks 👍👍👍

Music was the thing that did it to me as well. Mostly the overuse of headphones.
100% agreed. One of the tips for new riders is learn defensive riding and wear motorcycle specific earplugs.

this, ever since I discovered that tinnitus wasn't normal for everyone. I've been wary of uncomfortably loud music listening

I have only been riding for 2 years, and I did research and this topic was well covered so I ride with ear protection ALWAYS !
Stay safe ...

Got the same bike. Was thinking of getting an aftermarket exhaust and then this video pops up.

Thank you for the lovely comment. Wish you best of luck with the license :)
The video quality is awesome, thanks for your precious advices!
yeah i noticed everything is louder now that ive been using earplugs for a while

Well that is ofcourse a special circumstance you got there.
riding electric, the wind is very deafening too
Yes, the wind is the true problem. Most bikes aren't event that loud compared to the wind.. especially if you have a stock exhaust.

Congratulations on the new bike ! :)
@@MotoMacek thanks 🙏
Going 80 through a 30 zone and talking about rider safety... alright :P
You are right. I don't have anything to say really in my defense.
