I ordered a machine grey RF AT 2024 grand touring In January, it’s about to arrive as it was built to order. I’ve cleared out my garage, getting the floor cemented and painted with washable flex paint. I live in Spain, Canary Islands, it’s usually hot and sunny here. I hired the soft top and the RF to make up mind about which one suited me best. I’ve driven a stick shift all my life so this dream drive RF, with automatic gears hit the sweet spot and has me shouting WOOOOOOOOOOO every time I press the sport button, I feel as if I’m being launched forward in a capsule . It’s gleeful, good looking and capable of keeping those vibes high throughout the day. I’m 58, female and showing my kids that it’s never too late to go for what you want.
Hello, I'm also thinking about buying the 2024 RF automatic version. I'm 48 years old and for the past 10 years, all the cars I've driven have been dual-clutch automatics (when I was younger, they were all manuals). I mention this because I read so many criticisms about the automatic transmission of the MX-5 (like it's a slow and outdated torque converter, it loses all driving authenticity, etc.), so I'd like someone like you with this automatic model to objectively share your opinion. Thank you very much! :)
Ha, it seems like you still have some growing to do. Get the MX-5 Miata in a manual. I can guarantee you'll have a much better outcome than you already are in an automatic. Truly the only way to experience the MX-5 Miata properly👌💯 unless you're disabled or handicap there's no reason why you should miss out
+1 for auto rev matching! I just purchased a ND3 GT manual and this is the one feature that I'm most disappointed that Mazda didn't add. With all the advanced safety features and the new DSC traction mode, it makes no sense not to add rev matching as well. As someone with a bad back, I also agree that the GT seats need more support. Other than those minor annoyances, the Miata GT is an amazing sports car that's worth every penny of the $35k I paid for it...best performance car you can buy at that price.
Exactly my car I wrote a check for on the 7th of May. Only wish I could not have, Quad exhaust tips vice the twin tips even if "special" ordered. Otherwise, beautiful. Almost like my 62 MGB in profile.
Love the 2024 MX-5, but not a fan of their lackluster color options for the RF. Soul Red does look great, but not my sort of color personally (never wanted a flashy red vehicle). Wish it was available in the Polymetal Gray Metallic (Blue-Gray) "Carbon Edition" color. The Machine Gray Metallic (dark gray) is the only color I would buy it in currently, if forced to choose. Also, pretty much only the 6-AT is stocked at the dealerships in this area - no manual versions. ☹
no one ever mentions it i guess it is a bit of a hard to find thing...in my 2019 mx5rf.. it has another storage box like the center back one behind the passenger seat.. move the seat forward and you will see it. great spot to hide smaller items or just never used paperwork , backup sunglasses etc...
Hmmm, a Lot of noise by the drivers head in the Hard Top. Still benefits for 3+ season driving but something was missed; and of course the extra- 100 lbs…
Check out the Porsche Boxster. It’s much nicer and costs about $75,000 in base entry level without added options, standard in most cars. These types of sports cars -roadsters - are much more money.
The last ICE sports car that truly matters. An era about to disappear forever, for the average American car buyer who is not extremely wealrhy.

The hard top RF adds 97lbs
and 1/10 second to 0-60 times.also the manual trans has a limited slip differentual & bilstein shocks.

Beautiful. I love my Acura Integra Aspec manual which is more family friendly, but this car is on the bucket list.
