I have several videos up on reloading the 9 mm, .45 ACP and .45-70 using, at times, hand and bench tools from a variety of makers. I have also reloaded using mainly MEC tools .410, 20, 16 and 12-gauge shotgun and when I was into serious shotgun shooting in Arizona would often run a case of 500 shells a week. You may approach reloading as simply or complexly as your interest and pocketbook will allow.

Nice. This is useful advice, though we need more innovation to hand reloading to rifles and other modern sporting arms.

    Hello Hovey,
Remington has a history of generally making excellent firearms. This piece looks like it has potential. The scope looks like it might be in the same ball park price as the rifle, as long distance optics are serious devices. With the diversity of projectiles the thought came to mind to suggest, maybe try using my Universal Bullets in that Remington. It will be interesting to see how this rifle package works out.

Hello Mr Smith. I have a couple of Muzzle Loaders. My modern muzzle loader I feel has some kind of curse on it. It is an awesome Traditions .50 with a 28 inch Fluted Barrel. I have a Leupold Ultimate Slam Muzzle Loader Scope on it. The problem with it is that I have never seen any type of Game with it in My hands. It's the only Rifle I have that gives Me this trouble. LOL otherwise it's a very accurate and we'll made Rifle.

Sometimes it also takes me several seasons to get a kill with a given gun. This is not so hot as I am a gunwriter, and I am expected to produce some dead animals with each thing that I am sent and often only given a few months to do it. In real-world hunting there are no guarantees. Your gun's day will come. Be ready.

    Hi Hovey,
Just so you know, The base diameter of a .45 ACP is the same as a .308, .30-06, 8mm mauser and a whole slew of others. Just wondering if you could trim down one of those to length to make spare cases? I know that a guy made a .45 ACP a long time ago using those cases.

I do not know. It depends on the pressures for which the rounds were designed. The cases Remington uses appear to me to be thicker walled that the .45 ACP

Yeah, if the inside dimensions that allow it to fit make a difference, you'd be out of luck. Too bad!

The exterior dimensions are close enough that I can reprime with my my Lyman Tong tool. It is the case wall thickness and maybe the web that are different.

People routinely make these cases from the rifle calibers you mentioned. Brass is very plentiful for those calibers. Cut to 1.120", trim to 1.094", debur, chamfer, uniform the primer pockets & flash holes, tumble clean, and you are good to go.

Hey there hovey, Just a quick question. Love the videos by the way.
Are there any types of game that you wouldn't shoot? (Lets say that you could have a tag for anything.) So if you could have a tag for anything, Would there be something that you wouldn't shoot? Thanks!

Marty Mcfly I am driven more by the needs of my various guns to illustrate their usefulness in the field, than trying to kill all of the world's game species, take the biggest of anything or shoot record numbers of whatevers. I make these videos interesting and fun by doing the unexpected and unusual. I do sometimes hunt unusual animals with unusual guns, but unless I have a "need" to kill an animal, I don't. If I can't eat it. I most often will not shoot it. If it is tasty, available, legal and within the capabilities of the guns I am working with at the moment, I will likely kill, dress and eat it.
