As a indigenous young Canadian I appreciate "the not calling us indians"
Is "indians" a bad term or something derogatory?
Jazi Jazi if you’re talking about someone from India then no (I think that’s rather obvious) but if you’re talking about indigenous peoples then it’s absolutely offensive and has been used as a derogatory term against indigenous peoples for hundreds of years and was especially very commonly used during the period where (unfortunately) residential schools where ragingly popular with certain schools having slogans like “killing the Indian within the Indian”. It has a dark history and should be avoided when talking about indigenous peoples.
I'm Native Indian of Canada and I prefer Native Indian not indigenous person of Canada so take for yourself lady
Jazi Jazi well, it’s racists towards the native people here.
I agree and I’m partly indigenous. I’m in Alberta.
You have to keep in mind, that he is talking about when you visit Canada. He gives a brief outline to follow, thus being respectful to the country you are visiting. I’m Canadian, and I agree with him.
Is prostitution alow in Canada?
i interest to immigrate to canada,
I'm Canadian and I don't really agree with him if you vist then have fun and bee your self who cares what people you don't now think of you. Only like have of the this is something to use.
phaneendra rvr i don’t think that’s allowed anywhere mate
Long story short
Just use common sense and don’t break other people’s balls
Not perfect, but I love this Country
good say 👌❤️❤️😊
I am a born and raised Canadian and I agree with everything you said. Well done!
Same!
Same
Me too
Yes me to true I'm from canada
Driving while on your phone is also something you shouldn't be doing while in Canada!
or anywhere.
"Do not use too much dark humour"..... Dude, my humour is darker than satan's soul. We aren't so soft that we'll get offended by a bit of dark humour. Racist 'humour', sure. Dark? Nahhh.
Actually you can use dark humor but only with friends if you know they are comfortable with that. I use dark humor all the time with my friends and family but I would never says dark humor to someone I'm not close to. Also some comedian uses dark humor and it's ok but they still get critizes sometimes
Just saying the word "black" offends someone.
Thanks for the video Igor. I have lived in Canada for almost 4 years now, my experience however is a little bit different from what you have described here. Canadians have a great sense of humor, they enjoy sarcasm and dark humor like everybody in the planet... since after all they are HUMANS! I love making fun of Hockey and the terrible winters here with them and they actually enjoy it (it is one thing to be funny, another to be offensive and disrespectful). I also like to throw comparisons to the US with my friends and wait for their reaction! Canadians love their country and are proud of it, they have a thick skin, which you should have to handle the weather here :) Like in every place, there are people that are looking to be offended by everything, stay away from those people. I'm afraid that what is being suggested here is that you should "so blend" with the culture here that you'll stop being you, sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but that is crazy! I love being me and Canadians love diversity, even diversity of opinion. Remember, they key is to "assimilate" into the culture and respect and learn to love the distinctive things, not to annihilate your identity for the sake of "acceptance" by a certain group of people. Canada is diverse, that means you have all races, all religions and all political affiliations here well represented. It is a great country, it is not heaven though. ;)
thanks to Trudeau we have diversity lol
I believe he was refering to visitors and not residents my friend
@@gotyourreesespiecesbutterc4512 One thing I'm not proud of in Canada, is how stupid many of our ppl are.
Yes, Trudeau started immigration genius. It's not his fault u feel uncomfortable around non white people, it's the inbreeding & refusal to accept science over gut feeling. Don't feel bad.
good say! no where is heaven except *heaven* 😂😂😂

Not all Canadians are obsessed with hockey
Personally I don't like Hockey or Celine Dion songs !
And I'm a Canadian from Quebec.
BITE YOUR TONGE
@@tonystark341 I would also add Justin Beiber
Yep
yeah i prefer WWE Wrestling , Raw , Smack down
Canada is a baby; in comparison with other civilizations. Only one hundred and fifty years young, versus with a countries over thousands of civilizations histories.. politeness and trying to accommodate others, with glowing heart goes long way.
Respect. Totally to Canada.
Yewbdar Petros yes. Though we’ve only been independent since 1926. Also if Canada’s a baby would South Sudan be a fetus?
Canada has been around for thousands of years and many people here can trace their ancestry back just as far here. Hell Europeans started coming here in the 11th Century
You can speak what ever language you like Igor. As a fourth generation Canadian, I can attest it's ok to speak on the phone in another language. It's impolite to talk on the phone when with friends in any language. But if you are walking the streets or in the mall, and you are alone, and you are talking on the phone, speak whatever language you like. ❤️🇨🇦 Live in Calgary but raised in Edmonton. The country is so large that each province or area may have it's own or different societal norms. Overall be polite and you'll be ok.
@RedWave 2019 You shouldn't though. We have two mom's at our school who speak Spanish. 🤷 I don't care when they speak it to each other. Now if I was part of the conversation, then I'd be uncomfortable.
@RedWave 2019 Context would help the conversation though. Are there specific times you speak Spanish? I mean there's certain societal norms one has to follow. 1) Don't talk too loud when on your cellphone, 2) don't make phone calls in restaurants, etc.
@RedWave 2019 I think that should be ok. I'm ok with people speaking whatever language they want. I might be curious at first but I wouldn't be offended. If anything, I'd want to learn to speak Spanish. I used to have a friend in University from El Salvador. I didn't care when she spoke her native/first language. I have a lot of Chinese friends and I'm always learning their language, mostly Cantonese or Mandarin. As for the French speaking CANADIANS, it's easier for them to learn and speak Spanish. I found learning German to be easier and closer to English. So that's probably why that happens.
@RedWave 2019 French is mandatory until grade 10.
@RedWave 2019 and the way its taught is stupid
But we still are supposed to learn it
Number one thing to check out is Canada's distracted driving laws.
Andy Litun disaster
ikr He better watch it because he is clearly driving and filming.
Anyone here from Canada??? I am
I like this guy,he is so funny and seems like a genuine guy who appreciates Canada
I'm from a Detroit suburb and prior to 9/11 it took about 20minutes to be in Windsor, Ontario. I worked for a member of the Canadian Parliament and lived in Ottawa. Here are a few things that I observed as an Anthropologist. Courtesies are very important to them more so than in the USA. So keep that in mind with dealing with them. Go out of your way to hold open doors for them even if they are 15 feet away. Don't smoke in public. You will get passive/aggressive coughs and hacks from people walking by. Don't bring up Meech Lake Accord (they were trying to get a Constitution and it didn't happen) Do not refer to Native peoples as "Indian" if you are using a generic term "Indigenous" is your best choice. They are more politically correct than Americans. Even something slightly questionable can be seen as offensive. Do not litter. They have always been more environmentally aware. I remember in the early 90s they were already starting to recycle. When in Quebec or French speaking areas attempt to speak French they will appreciate it. When the Quebecois/Franco-Ontarians etc realize you are not a Canadian they will speak English. If you are Canadian in the French speaking areas they will expect you to speak French. They can tell the difference ;) Beer is a big thing there for many folks. Don't make fun of it or their Health Care system-those like Hockey are sacred cows. If you have never been to Canada check it out it's an awesome country with diversity and natural beauty and super people. Just an FYI every year around the fourth of July and Canada Day July 1 Americans and Canadians gather near the Detroit river and have a joint fireworks display. It's a joint celebration and party shared on both sides. Peace from a friend in the USA.
Good post ... but ... the Meech Lake Accord?? You're dating yourself, Grandpa; nobody even remembers the Meech Lake Accord, except for a few political-scientists and ... old timers ... !
Nice
I appreciate but being an Indian let me know which country is best America or Canada .no doubt America is super power ful .but for living standard life
I am from the United States of America. I have been to Canada before. I show respect to everyone there and I knew that things are different there. I think that everything was explained perfectly in this video. Great job 👍. Thank you so much for posting this. Well done 👍.
Thanks for the advice once again. Keep them volgs coming.
Hey ive been watching your channel over a week now ,and i can't wait to consume more videos from you coz im supposed to go to to canada by the end of this month and im landing in calgary and probably spending the next 5 years up there. So i wanted to thank you for all advice that you give through your videos. Calgary seems to be a lovely city and i can't wait to enjoy it. ✌🏽
Saikou yaya Barry when you going and where you from?
You are wrong about guns!
We are allowed to own guns, we just can't carry and display them in public!
I'm sure it's hard to cross the border with one though. My friend competed in the last Olympics in pistol shooting and she had to carry lots of permits to fly with her equipment.
@@mom.emma2010 Well, unless they are prohibited in Canada, you can bring most firearms through the border. For restricted firearms you will need a permit and an authorization from the gorvernment, but for the non-restricted firearms, all you need is a valid canadian permit. However, it's better to call before you come!
www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/import-importer-eng.htm
I heard it's actually harder to bring a canadian firearm to USA!
Well, she went to the Olympics in Brazil. 😛 She won a gold medal at the Commonwealth games too. I can't remember where that one took place.
That is correct
Love your videos, I'm a fifth generation Canadian, and your spot on. There are many cultures here and it only works with respect of each other.
Ryt bro ..
Some good points made Igor! good choice of topic.
Plz make a video on your journey to Canada . Which course you have done here and mention best undergraduate courses students should do in Canada

I love Canada because the country has the Heart of Love. Love that produce kindness, politeness, honest, friendly and helpful.
That's why is very important to make sure whatever we do or say doesn't offend anyone.
I visited so many countries, but the feeling and interactions I'm getting here "amazing".
Canada train people to be positive, face the challenge, and be happy all the time.
God Bless Canada, God bless Canadians 🤗

6:55 he's at cross iron kills outside of calgary. Live there, great mall
Nice video about do or don't do things.
nice and coooool information bro. GOD bless U
Thanks Igor for the information, can u also make a video on internet connectivity and mobile connection plans etc.
The city mostly has cable internet and they use Wi-Fi because everyone has mobile devices. People outside of the city need a dish and a DSL internet which is not much different. The plan you choose is based on how much bandwidth you need. It is not a problem to get Internet anywhere. In other words cable/set top box, dsl/dish, satellite/mobile devices. Although mobile devices also use WiFi.
Yeah i would like to know how internet works and what are the services offered ; how good/bad the connexion is, and what can you expect from it when you are in need of 100mb/s upload for instance.
@@saikouyayabarry9665 Shaw Cable is up to 150 mbps download and 15 mbps upload for their internet but cable providers offer packages that group Internet and television (these are two separate dishes with DSL/Satellite outside of the city). Mega bytes.
@@HPCthulhu2011 thanks. meanwhile ive been digging about it and i found that telus can provide you up to 150mbps, can you get access to this technology no matter wherever you are in calgary,or is it just limited to some specific places?
@@saikouyayabarry9665 There is cable in the city (Telus or else Shaw) and DSL towers for outside of the city. The DSL is good but the dish has to face the tower properly which can be an issue but they set it up for you. I'm not sure if the internet/television cable plan reduces bandwidth in half instead of all to the internet but most people pay $75 a month for the duel package. Yeah you can be 100 miles outside of the city and still get high speed internet.
Can I settle in Canada with income from Online Business, in Which visa I have to settle in Canada Entrepreneur Visa or What?

It is just impossible to be rude to Canadians, they are so nice and friendly. I am working as a personal interpretator for almost 10 years, met a lot of representatives of different nations, but Canadians are still the best people on this planet :D
Guns are allowed. Conceal carry is not.
Absolutely not true. You must have a reason for a gun permit.

Hi Igor, I´m Sidney from Brazil, good advice
Hey Igor, I'm Ashton and I'm moving to Canada next year. Calgary is one of the cities I'm considering for living... I've heard you guys receive a lot of sunlight in Calgary... Is that true?
It is one of the sunniest places in the world. Also, we have Bipolar weather. So dress for everything. I've been living here for 2 years and I still can't wrap my mind around it... lol and i'm from Ottawa a city with to seasons... winter and summer. XD
Very often same with Vancouver, except we get much less snow than Calgary. Bipolar weather is a Western Canada thing, I guess!
PMSL bipolar weather 🤣😂 I'm so adding that to my vocabulary 🤘😎👍
Cedstick But I've heard Vancouver is cloudy most of the year!! 🤔
Idman Mohamed So it IS sunny most of the year, but the weather is unpredictable and can change very fast... right?
I miss that classic intro...nice video
I was born and raised in Canada and I'm going to stay all of what you said is true we also don't like when other cultures try to push their culture on us. An we do get mad like anyone else we just do it in a more polite manner .
I hope everyone enjoys our country we just asked you leave it the way you find it amazing. Lol
how i apply am engineer
Better get used to it, this will be a muslim country soon enough.
Plz make video on new government rule for immigrants.
Himanshu koirala i wanna know what they said about immigrants, im about to move to Canada and i wanna know what are the rules there~~
The new rule is we don't like immigrants
Abigail Junky so basically the first even Canadian are native Indian and inuit from South America, the first ever immigrant are Viking, and you sir even tho you from Canada, u probably not a native Canadian, and you sir is an immigrant too
If you speak englich well they'll let you in
With alternatives to canada.......
tiping in is big, whether it be resturants, cabs, bars, even the odd package carrier, (even fedex employees, lol), some hotels, babysitters, movers, (basically service industry sector)
In Toronto You must not drag a dead horse down Yonge Street on a Sunday
2braindamage LOL
or ride a camel in Vancouver lol
That is true!
Igor talk about studying as a pilot and how to get PGWP after completing the course. The duration it can take and also which schools to attend
why would you want to be a pilot ? to remake 911
I just had Starbucks for the first time and I ordered a small or whatever they call it
Soooooo true 💕
Nice video buddy! Only three comments: (1) liking hockey is a bit of a stereotype (2) You forgot to mention racism. Being racist of mentioning racist comments is generally considered highly offensive and can very quickly get you fired or otherwise in trouble of the law. (3) Canadians do enjoy humour, dark or otherwise, and are generally accepting of it. Some of the best comedians ever come from Canada, despite it's low population. Best of success!
How much a uber driver can earn if he will drive for six days and ten hours daily what will be his approx earnings after deducting gas and insurance.pls reply. Pls reply.
Sudhir Sharma Around 10,000$ give or take. Truly great profits around here.
I have never seen or heard of a rich uber driver..... you are wasting your time. Uber profits would not even cover your winter heating bill in Canada. There is no way to live on Uber salary....NO WAY. PLEASE GIVE UP YOUR DREAM, winter here is very long and very cold.
Do you still see Canada the same, Mr Igor?
Hi Igor! I like your clips and subscribed your channel. I live in Calgary and just started UA-cam to introduce Calgary for Koreans. Your video is quite interesting! See you again and thanks!! ^^
Definitely a brave vlog dude, Reading the comments I'd say you've opened a can of worms 🤣😂 but understandably you've given a general overview within a reasonablely set timescale. 🤘😎👍
I also love hockey and canada too brother
Remember that when you arrive in Canada you are given quite a lot of freedom to learn and make mistakes regarding these cultural norms. But as you spend more time and improve your language skills, Canadians will let you know if you are slow to learn these norms. What is tolerated when you land from the plane might not be after a while, especially by the persons you see frequently, like at work.
One key thing to remember, this is a country made up of minorities, and that was well understood by those in power... they also felt like they had little power since they felt like they were also in a minority. At least that was what every other minority was skilled at reminding them.
Calgary is so beautiful, i want to live in this city in future
Vinicius dont bother dude....i lived there for 5 years...its boring...most cities in canada work to live...in calgary they live to work...hope this helps with your decision
You should check out Vancouver or Vancouver Island...most awesome.
How ur driving and vlogging?? 😱
