You should try what i did I bought a Taylormade Speedblade #3 -17degree loft...pair with a hybrid shaft TP aldila rip alpha 105 And this is a beast with lots of forgivness....total carried yesterday 290
I have the original 2UDI and love it. If you want a higher launch, put it up on a tee. I also find I can work the club a lot easier than the GAPR Lo club. I play one course that has a 45 degree dogleg left and I can use my 2 iron and bend it around the corner to setup a easy 2nd into the green. I can always tell when I hit it good because I never feel the club hit the ball, it just booms down the fairway. Not a long or forgiving off the ground, but still very workable. JM2C
I have exactly the same feelings with a good shot - feel almost nothing and the ball just rockets away. I also like the versatility of it as it gives the opportunity to hit some shots that I just can't come close to hitting with anything else. Off fairways especially par 5's I cant reach I'll choke down a touch, put ball back in stance and hit a half to three quarter swing and just punch it forward 6 - 10 feet off the ground and it goes 180 - 200 easy with zero effort. There is so little that can go wrong with the shot. Same thing if blocked a bit by trees and you need to keep one low under branches, so easy to take the aggressive line knowing the branches just aren't in play. It is also great if you have a decent lie in the rough - you really can get it up in the air and it will run out. Definitely not an approach club except in rare circumstances but I didn't ever expect it to be.
have one but made a mistake and got the xstiff shaft....can shafts be switched out on this easily. Mine has what looks like an adjustment screw on the toe end. Or is the shaft swap like a normal iron?
I’m a 23 handicap. Think this club will elevate my game... always been a better iron player and this can be used often for me off the tee.
