I've always wondered what would have happened had Harrison Ford opted NOT to return for Episode VI? Would Han have been recast? Killed off inside the Carbonite? Originally there was supposed to be a love triangle between Luke, Leia and Han, with Luke winning in the end. Here I'm guessing Han dying would let this happen.
The main reason Han was cast in carbonite was because Ford wouldn't commit to another sequel and it would have been easier to kill Han off if Ford didn't return.
Originally, Han was going to die and Leia would've also left the story, leaving Luke to go off in search of his sister. So no, in none of the versions Luke would've got Leia.

@@steveandjeanniefrith236 From what Gary Kurtz said, Leia would've left the story in order to lead the remains of the people of Alderaan, the ones who were off world when the planet was destroyed. Seeing that her arc was finished when Han was killed, I see that conclusion to be quite believable. Thing is, originally, Luke was envisioned as a sort of "James Bond" type of character. He'd be the only constant character to survive through the movies, with other characters being expendable plot devices to move the story along, including Han and Leia. I can see Han and Leia as being the tragic romantic subplot, with Luke's journey being the main plot. It'd be the "Adventures of Luke Skywalker", if you will, with characters coming and going or being killed off, just like Biggs in ANH. From what Kurtz said, the original ST would've continued straight after the events of the original plot for ROTJ, with a young Luke becoming a Jedi and going in search of Nellith, which is far more appealing than what we eventually got, a Frankenstein's Monster ST made up of discarded bits and pieces from the OT and originally planned ST. BTW: Just listen to Han and Leia's love theme, especially during the Falcon's departure. Brings me back to 8 years old and thinking.. hold on I have to wait 2 years to find out what happens to Han??
2 years? Only if you watched it a year after it came out, otherwise 3.
Correct this was in theaters for over a year and then re-released in theaters in 1982.. kind of did well at the box office.
Wow, 54k views...👍👍👍
6:37 I’m a Jedi like my father before me…
Épico
When the first 15 seconds reminds you that Rebel Alliance just got that ass spanked 😂
Luke and Leia Skywalker should’ve both fought Darth Plaguis at the end of episode 9!!
Luke's wife Mara Jade as well as his friend and fellow Jedi Master Kyle Katarn should have been there as well.
The movie version loops the imperial March a second time
Only the Special Edition does that loop, to accommodate for the extra Special Edition credits. The original theatrical version (which can be seen on the 2006 Limited Edition DVD) only plays the Imperial March once.
Only on the special editions
Luke, we’re ready for takeoff!
Having Luke,Han,Leia,Vader,Chewbacca, and Lando but no Boba Fett is a criminal offense on this promotional poster
John Williams Isolated Score Finale & End Credits ( YoDa’s Force Imperial March & Han Solo & The Princess Theme)
Meet you on Tatoine
I want John Williams to Compose My First Movie along with another Awesome Composer and it will be Mind Blowing.

What made Star Wars special is not only was it a great saga but John Williams kicked ass with the score. The first three will always be special to me. Throw Rogue One in there. Disney f&@ked up the last three episodes.
What about Andor? The best SW since at least Empire.
So this wasn't actually recorded? It's just a section from earlier in the score tracked in at the start?
