What I learned from this video: 1)Yelan C0 does more dmg than Xingqiu C6 but not that much (With a 3 star weapon) . 2)Sacrifical Sword is the best weapon for Xingqiu overall. 3)Xingqiu C6 compensates the difference in dmg with protection and a little more hydro aplication. 4)Bennet is the pyro archon.
1) not that much w 3* weapon, yes. W simulacra and 4 set severed fate she could deal aclot more than showcased in the video. 2) yup, easy ER + double E is always good 3) even c4 already very good. Also he has mini heal+anti interuption, it'd be different at first when you long time using XQ then switching to Yelan that pure damage wo any heal and/or anti interuption. 4) thats a fact. Lets wait if in the future there'll be more different kind of buffer, but as effective as bennet can be :)
For the next Dps showdown between A c6 Yelan would probably be between Ayato, Ayaka, Raiden, and Ganyu due to how much Frontloaded Damage they have at c6 same with yelan. but they choice is yours my man
@@shachede6828 the highest dmg i have seen Yelan do at c6 is roughly 70k dmg per dice. Ganyu can pump multiple hundred thousands dmg per frostflake bloom at c6. theres a pretty big difference between a off field sub dps and a dedicated main dps.
Seeing a video of aqua simulacra on other bow units vs their signature or best in slot weapons would also be really useful too. I’m interested to know if there is enough there to compensate for the very low base attack when you put everything together as well as if it would be worth it to equip on other units as a FTP player sub dps or main dps.
@@bhuviking18 it's for ganyu melt for more spesific. because in ganyu melt you more likely use bennet and with amos you got deminishing return from atk buff so yeah aqua win om ganyu melt team
At least this makes me feel like a less insane person when i heard that c6 XQ and yelans damage was comprable but didnt experience that when i tested myself with them doing solo damage.
Ayatos q is for himself to mainly boost his na dmg and all he'll do for her is boost her na DMG but won't vape properly , that's not comparable to yelans off field hydro application.
Would be interesting to check someother stuff beside damage, like hydro aplication, and check how they perform without the energy teammates, just to check how much of a problem it is their energy stuff, but good video as always
Yelan with favonius has 0 energy issues, so does xq with sacrificial especially at c6. pyro application enough for diluc and yoimiya but lacking for hutao klee sometimes yanfei
@@aaykat6078 even if you remove slingshot for fav you cr will be around 70 in this video which is enough to crit more often but you will get ER which will boost dmg with emblem set on so you are wrong
it depends on a lot of factors like teams, buffs, etc. also dont look at solo dmg and say "wow yelan does 1.5-2x xq dmg". solo dmg to compare strength is one of worst metrics. you can see that in the specific team shown in the video, they have basically the same performance.
a lot of the video had yelan onfield tho, which wont be the case in yelan's real teams. when yelan is off field she cant use her a4 passive which means c6 Xq will overtake her once more. (as you can see from the only fight that was played off field.)
@@whisperwalkful if the same condition is applied to xq that also means he wont be getting bennet buff. 1st fight against the cryo flower shows yelan still excels better off field in terms of dmg wven without a4 passive. So also since his yelan is acually not that greatly built compared to xq,safe to assume yelan beats xq in terms of dmg in every situation (Obv not refering to the jade cutter xq. It takes lot of money and if u invest that into aqua simulacra yelan would still blow xq out of the water)
I think something a lot of people are sleeping on is her A4 passive. Not only can she give it to any on field character, but it doesn’t reset when you switch so your active character is just getting more damage bonus every second (avg 20%-30%, max 50%) The last thing to keep in mind is Xingqiu is pretty much peaked while Yelan’s celling is much higher being a 5 star, having 5 Star weapons that make her even stronger and most importantly she’s missing an HP stat buffer to increase her damage, she’s only gonna get better from here.
But her passive is not snapshottable and 50 percent lasts a second so it's not worth it so the average buff comes around 30 to 40 percent. And it's not a unique buff like shenhe or something so it's combined with elemental DMG bonus or burst damage bonus and etc so it has diminishing returns. Also...why would anyone use buffers for yelan...she herself is supposed to be supoort and sub dps, it defeats the point if then you have to squeeze in a hp support just for yelan. Also xingqui still hasn't reached full potential although close but yelan also is not that far off. She already has ber signature weapon and uses the same set as xingqui which is not gonna be surpassed by a new set for some time now so....let's not pretend like she is near the ceiling too. Obvs...she has cons to go unlike xingqui who is at c6 here but...that's not available for f2ps so it doesn't matter. Base line.....no, you are wrong
@@lostblueboy nah nobody is talking about 50 and absolutely only on 50%, we are talking about those above 30ish and 40ish % that dominates the percentages. If you are saying she has a diminishing return based from the buff then kazuha is literally that too? You know she is mainly used as a sub dps in a team, after you set up your team for your main dps, yelan already have around the 21% and your main dps starts around that, making the overall dmg buff is higher than just the middle. Also you mistaken damage ceiling as damage potential. Yelan's damage ceiling right now is low because she is solely the only pure HP based character, (talking about albedo right after he got released) and from there you can see how much higher she can go. Sure thing I absolutely agree with her being a sub dps doesn't need a buffer for her but there are still reactions, artifact sets, character passives, and more weapon that soon to come for her.
@@Galariel .....ah.....yelan mains bringing kazuha into this and comparing her to kazuha. classic. and for your information, no he doesnt have diminishing returns because you see, he provides a static dmg buff based on em and not one that wanes and waxes. And second....elemental dmg bonus is harder to get compared to burst dmg bonus or all dmg bonus but even if that wasnt the case....he has something which yelan doesnt have which is access to VV and grouping and also sub dps capablities at that. Yelan on the other hand only has sub dps capablities with a little support bonus which will add up to be around 10 to 15 percent at max because of diminishing returns and not even enough hydro to keep up with some pyro characters. and second...she already got her weapon....so idk what weapon and all you are trying to get at. 5 stars unless they are albedo dont get super good 4 star weapons for them. if you are lucky once in a blue moon you get the catch for raiden or cinnarbar for albedo. i doubt yelan will be that lucky. third of all...she already has a set, emblem. not every character gets a niche set, emblem is already her best set and i doubt there will be one in the making solely to increase dmg based on hp just for yelan. And also...reactions? you are aware that most reactions are fixed right and whatever dendro brings.....its not gonna outsizely buff her, if it buffs hydro then xingqui, mona, ayato, tartaglia will all be same buffed and you should never try to get her to vape just to increae her damage a little bit. Its not worth it and then you are just strongarming everything to make your yelan do some decent dmg but at the cost of efficiency. so no..........she is also close to her ceiling unless you are trying to put her as a albedo case which she is not....albedo didnt get or still have a 5 star weapon, she does, albedo didnt have any best set even remotely, yelan does, albedo didnt have teams then to fit in, yelan does. so no
@@lostblueboy ah... Classic kazuha mains doesn't acknowledge that Yelan's passive aside from doing less than kazuha but can work on all 8 sources of damage, unlike kazuha who can only work for PECH or 4/8 of all source of damage. Also me bringing kazuha was merely because of you saying the diminishing return part where it is more prominent for kazuha because he gave a solid amount while Yelan gave it ramped up, making the full use for quick swap character and whole team to enjoy and not only on the specific character. Also, learn about the definition of potential and stop perceiving what currently the best would be the best in the future too, you can't say there is no chance to something you absolutely don't know about. Just accept the fact that there will be HP buffer in the future and more characters that have pure HP scaling making the full use of the HP buffer.
Xingqiu is my absolute favourite character so I was obviously rooting for him. It was no surprise however that Yelan was going to dominate the competition. She's an arguably better and five star version of Xingqiu so she's obviously going to have higher multipliers and lots of advantages from her kit. I'm still very proud of my boy Xingqiu, his performance was amazing. Thank you for including him in a video like this.
@@TheUnholyToast1 yeah, yelan's hp scalings plus her own damage buff passives really make her deal overall higher damage than a highly invested xingqiu. But his damage overall is definitely not underwhelming in a general scale. If built as dps, he can still pass the dps checks of abyss; he can nuke; and I'd say he could compete with ~some~ c0 dpses
Hey thanks for the video, i would like to make a point (to clarify, i understand this is only a DPS showdown) I would LOVE to see some of the long fights without zhongli shield. The thing that makes XQ better in a lot of teams, is the dmg reduction, heal, hydro res shred, stagger resistance and self ult generation he provides. Is like making a comparison between ayato vs kokomi, it will nullify the porpuse of one of the characters, when in practical battle you will get hit and lose HP, get staggered or canceled. Also, providing energy will make obscure some of the thing characters lack.
Yelan's burst should be cast first in most scenarios, not last. She doesn't care about Bennett's buff, so you can do Bennett after Yelan and have his buff last longer for the other characters that actually want it. Also, your best DPS should be last in the rotation so they get the most of Yelan's Burst buff. By the time you get to your best DPS, Yelan's buff should be around 25-30% and can go to 40%+ before the rotation ends. Finally, Yelan is best versus long fights with tough enemies, such as the Perpetual Array in 12-3-2. The longer the fight, the more you can take advantage of her buff. Fighting smaller enemies means losing on that buff by just running around, while Xingqiu prefers smaller enemies because he has a very strong opening damage with his E or double E. So basically he just nukes stuff then goes to the next target while his E is recharging. That's why Xingqiu lost most single target boss fights, because if he doesn't kill enemies fast with his double E, the subsequent damage is low compared to Yelan. Also, Yelan is best used with a strong main DPS that can take advantage of her buff, such as Raiden, Ayaka, Hu Tao. Time will tell, but I do believe Yelan will be a game changing support, just like Kazuha. You shouldn't look at Yelan as a Xingqiu that does more damage. Regardless of her high personal damage, her best feature is the damage buff she provides over time. The stronger your main DPS is, the better Yelan becomes. And we do know powercreep exists, so she will become stronger with new stronger units
Yeah good points, I was confused why he waited to cast her burst last, not to mention her bis weapon wasn't even showcased and why she was only talent lv 9
Problem with waiting that long to do the rotation on national team is that majority of xianglings burst is not gonna vape. Yelans burst only lasts 15 secs and Xianglings lasts 14 secs. Not vaping half of xianglings burst means ur losing way more dmg than ur gaining, especially because xiangling is offlield majority of the time.
@@michaelk1982 If you do E/Q with Yelan, then E/Q with Bennett and then go to Xiangling, you're probably gonna be 5 seconds into Yelan's Burst, you still have 10 seconds left on Yelan's burst to vape Xiangling, it's not that bad. You will also get around 20% damage buff on Xiangling while you're using her on field, so her Gouba and Pyronado start will vape harder. But this is not such a big deal, since you'll switch her off immediately and she'll lose the buff. But the biggest damage in Raiden national team is coming from Raiden, so you want to have the last 7-8 seconds on Yelan's Burst together with Raiden's burst for 30-40% damage buff. Not to mention because you're using Bennett 2nd, your Bennett buff will last longer for Raiden, otherwise Bennett's circle will be gone before Raiden's Burst is gone and you lose some DPS. Sorry if you're talking about national in general (without Raiden), then maybe the rotation is different there because everyone is doing their part. But for Raiden National, you would want to have this order
@@Gennosuke1983 the way Bennetts buff works is that every time it tiks, u get the Bennett buff even if u leave the field and bcoz it always tiks before it disappears, Bennett buff technically it lasts 14 secs so even if u burst in Bennett circle, u will have more than enough time to buff all of raidens rotation. I think ur forgetting that a large portion of rational team dmg comes from xiangling vaping and doing overloads. Especially if u have C0 Raiden, most of the teams dmg Comes from xiangling so sacrificing a lot of vape dmg on xiangling to get a small dmg bonus on raiden is not worth it imo
@@dhruvrakkesh I also can not but that is because I use geo + Electro only and don't have a single build Pyro character, neither Hydro. Can only get her to around 30% before 2nd phase. But also it doesn't matter since i'm having fun.
Honestly I really don't know what's best for the C6 Showdown... first time I couldn't choose which one I wanted in your poll! Keep up the good work you're great!!
While Xingqiu has competitive DPS numbers, it’s important to remember that in most teams, Xingqiu will always help your Pyro DPS rev-vape. Granting a 1.5x damage multiplier. in this setting he will (for C0 Yelan users) be better for reverse-vape teams. Some caveats will apply here and there, but for gen. Use within the confines of what they are best at, Yelan can be a great DPS, and Xingqiu will always be a great rev-vape enabler. Put both of them together with a Pyro DPS, and all the sudden, you can certainly mini-nuke most, if not all bosses with absolute min-maxed builds on both Yelan and Xingqiu. TL;DR - Built to the stipulations of their defined roles, they *will* excel at it. You can also certainly have fun maining who you wish to. In this case; Xingqiu as DPS. In simple terms: Have fun with who you wanna main. They won’t let you down so long as you build them correctly.
@@kingdoom5022 at c0? can you send your source because I really want to use both hutao and ayaka at some point in the abyss, but I just don't like using yelan with my freeze team, so im hoping i could use yelan with hutao.
Would love to see a favo vs sac in real world usage for XQ in the future. With the right stats on your artifacts favo XQ is hard to pass up on most comps outside of the double hydro. Favo weapons have made the game so much more comfy for me.
Great video! I think C6 Yelan vs C6 Ayato vs C6 Childe would be interesting, they are the strongest hydro 5 stars. Alternatively, Yelan, Ayato and Hu Tao, since they are all based around HP scaling (kinda).
Tbh I doubt yelan would win anything ebcause she is meant to be a support. I would hope Childe can put dps her because otherwise 👀 Ayato can def outdps her in terms of burst dmg. Maybe he loses overtime if you include her on field dmg buff but she is really good for enabling and that’s where she is at. It’s like trying to compare bennet to hu tao. Benny shines when he is supporting and his support value scales with the drivers value so if u have a good driver he’s Amazing but relative to Amazon dps his driver capabilities can’t enable someone like barabra past hu tao levels. If it’s raiden then yea if it’s someone like diluc or Childe maybe but yelan kinda there to boost others so her value or added dmg rather varies
@@shinymew1213 I see what you are saying, yeah it's true she supposed to be a support, didn't really think of that but still, he has her at C6 after all which does make her at least a sub-dps if not a full dps. Also Ayato for example can support too with his burst, but it's a secondary thing of course because his main point is his elemental skill. Idk I just thought it would be cool to compare the arguably strongest hydro characters between them.
For the people wondering why iwtlg gave yelan Slingshot, just remember that atk % doesn't matter whatsoever on a yelan. Just for comparison an R1 Slingshot does more damage than R5 Amos bow on yelan.
@@thecrazyremy slingshot is better than sharpshooter and blackliff slingshot have 62cv blackliff has 36cv and sharpshooter 46cv. blackliff is waste for yelan she can not even use atk percent bonus from blackliff passive
Please compare c0 Yelan, c2 Yelan and c6 Xingqiu with doing elemental reactions (want to know if that extra hit from her c2 helps with reactions or not). Specifically for a Hu Tao team. I think knowing how well (or poorly) Yelan does compared to Xingqiu in being an aura applier for reactions is a very important thing that people are looking at in her.
C2 Yelan is better than C6 Xingqiu for Hu Tao, I'm looking at her for her hp orientated scaling and future potential though since I don't run hutao or any Pyro team, hoping we get an HP buffer in the future
I’m gonna casually leave a try hard’s nightmare here. I run Yelan with Klee. Klee’s pyro application is so fast it out does Yelan on a good amount of hits. Making Yelan the DPS while Klee is on field.
The idea is sound, Yelan is the one that vaporizes the hits. It's just not as good as you think it is because due to ICD, Yelan is only vaporizing a third of her damage.
I've also started running a "dps" Yelan team however mine isn't with much reactions. Team is Yelan, Xinqiu, Albedo and Jean for heals and swirl. Surprisingly does quite a lot of dmg even with having swirl as the only useful reaction.
The team comp one seemed well unfair really when yelan has no benefit over bennet ult or double pyro so her dps has a ton of diminishing returns disregarding the level 3 bow damage vs 4 and 5 star weapons. At that point your not measuring their skill damage, because xinqui scales with attack and you have a bennet buff. You could attack with either of the other 3 and had better results.
I agree and IWTL did say that in the video. In the end both came out the same so it shows how Yelan does not need Bennett to be competitive. After all, these comparisons are mostly for entertainment, cause the Yelan in abyss is massively low in HP and he'd have better results using fav bow on Yelan and keeping the HP sand. If we're talking about weapon efficiency Fav bow is only 10% weaker than Aqua and is FTP too since everyone got free fav bow at the beginning.
The reason Xingqui has double pyro and yelan doesn’t is because the teams are supposed to be realistic. Obviously yelan would need a battery unlike Xingqui
Exactly. A much fairer comparison would have been to use xinqiui/yelan off field like everyone actually uses them and have a main dps like diluc for example vape their attacks. Xinqiu had bennet the most broken support in the game to boost his damage and was barely faster than a c0 yelan with a fucking 3* weapon lol. And xinqiu doesn't snapshot so a realistic comparison would be cast bennet burst, xinqiu/yelan burst and then attack with the pyro dps who would benefit from bennet. Xinqiu would still be benefitting from the 25% resonance bonus while yelan isn't but at that point it seems pretty fair since she is a 5*. Yelan would definitely pull ahead then thanks to her A4 passive giving a good damage dealt bonus to the active character.
only some people know that C6 4* cannot easily be replaced with C0 5*. take fischl and sucrose for example. most people just don't use fischl and sucrose because fischl doesn't synergize with vape/melt/freeze comps😂 and sucrose has every catalyst users issue (auto aim) i still use sucrose despite having kazuha, venti got benched tho. and fischl is almost always present on my EC team
I like to believe Yelan wasnt introduced to sub XQ. more of a marketing strategy that XQ was so desired that if they made a 5 star counterpart, it would sell well. And it did
@@enesjei i have venti at level 90 and kazuha at level 90 but I'm thinking about finally building sucrose to bench venti since sucrose would work better in the abyss on floors with giant enemies.
@@enesjei yeah lately hoyoverse making a 5* character that has a simmilar kit to the best c6 4* support in the game, but the 5* always get slightly underperformed compared to the c6 4*. All in all the 5* counterparts can outperformed when c2 is activated
Yelan’s damage is based on HP, while xingqius is based on ATK. Bennet’s buff is only for ATK, which is why yelan does not get significantly boosted while xingqiu does
And he also compared jade cutter xingqiu which needs more energy it’s more about the dps they can do without worrying about limitations and that’s why In abyss the sac sword team caught up

The result is exactly the same as the math that theory crafter did, but it is nice to have a real in game footage to show that What I get from this video is that Yelan is a pretty good on field damage dealer, at least on quick swap cuz of her charge and E, unlike XQ who have no advantage in being on field with the exception of maybe taking advantage of Bennett buff and do reverse vape with his nuke E. In a situation where being off field is more advantageous they are pretty much equal Honestly if not for the fact that I'm on 50/50 and I want Kazuha badly I would have pulled for her cuz her design is top tier and she looks like a lot of fun to play especially since I can use her on field unlike Xinqiu but yea nah, ima wait for rerun
I got mona const instead :/ I want klee. It would be nice to pair her up with yelan, but i cant risk it. I dont think i would be able to guarentee myself a klee if i pulled for yelan now.
I would have prefered to have a comparison against the pyro hypostasis to see who's hydro application is higher. Both would use minimum damage potential
We already know the answer to this though. At c0 Yelan has higher dps potential but does not apply hydro as often as a c6 Xingqiu. I've seen so many videos comparing the two and the results of who is "faster" in a team comp is always identical despite Yelan not applying as much hydro, even for hu tao.
@@joeyisabsb1 Not quite. Yelan actually has quite good hydro application in a burst pattern, as you can see from the BTB e burst BTB combo that IWTL uses. All of these hydro application shouldn't have issues with icd, and should all apply hydro. While xingqiu's E has phenomenally high elemental gauge on application, he can't proc sacrificial sword if the attack doesn't do damage, but does hit an elemental shield. His elemental burst also doesn't have any hydro application on cast. So Xingqiu definitely has higher hydro application over time, especially as rainswords flying around him can proc hydro application as well that doesn't do damage but does remove pyro shields. But against a real target, like pyro hypostasis, abyss lector, or pyro abyss mage, its possible that Yelan can win out due to the more flexible burst of pyro application.
She should have dps showdown against 5 stars whose C6 give said characters frontloaded damage, best examples being C6 Ayaka (with shenhe), C6 Ganyu melt comp, and C6 Ayato in vape team (idk if he can vape all his auto right after Q or not). Idk about hutao or yoimiya though but their C6 don't really give them frontloaded advantage.
Haha. What? You don't think Hu Tao's c6 gives front loaded damage? You don't think 100% crit rate with a long down time is front loaded? In the open world C6 Hu Tao would dominate everything if played correctly. In abyss C6 Hu Tao would be in a burst swap team with Ayaka.
no it would be worse because in this video he’s using an unrealistic 140 ER build with slingshot to try to artificially make yelan’s damage look better. This is not realistic for most people because you aren’t going to be wasting a lot on a fav mona just to battery yelan. Just throwing on pyro resonance for sac xingqiu in no way makes up for the advantage yelan got from getting a battery. he should’ve used fav yelan in the video. not because it would make her look better but because it’s actually realistic
@@ariose8855 You have a great point that I agree with. That said, I never said she'd do more damage but it was a better F2P showcase (as R5 slingshot isn't guaranteed, but R1 FW is).
@@1234luf r5 slingshot is pretty much guaranteed with how often it appears in wishes. I'd say if you have reached pity for a 5 star, you have a good chance of having r5 already. @@d3m3nt3d_t3acup_ R5 slingshot is still not guaranteed like R1 FW, which is literally a quest. I agree it's not hard to get enough slingshots, but it's very possible for a free to play to not get r5 before running out of wishes.
I have Yelan C0 and Xinqiu only C1, I like both but at least compared to C1 Xinqiu I rate Yelan as a much better damage dealer and overall better and more comfortable to use character than Xinqiu, the most annoying thing about Xinqiu is his long elemental cooldown, even with sac sword you still have to wait a lot or switch character if by chance you speeded up rotation, Yelan´s bow has a shorter hit lag than sword so if you happen to use her on field you´ll deel a lot more damage, the other advantage of Yelan is that her E is coupled with her fast movement so you can not only spread her damage to distant enemies (more AoE damage) but she also can evade enemies damage more efficiently than than Xinqiu´s weak shield. Yelan´s HP build is also another advantage because she´ll resist more damage and she´ll be a little easier to build. Xinqiu is still better when you use him with Hutao because he can apply more hydro and is not making the damage but Yelan´s buff to the on field character is a lot better than a minimal interruption protection and damage mitigation. This all might improve with Xinqiu´s higher cons which I don´t have but I still rate Yelan clearly above in everything except hydro application.
Xingqiu is mostly a general hydro applicator. But in the current meta his position in most teams has been taken by the more specialized character like Mona and Kokomi in freeze, Childe in International, and Yelan in any teams outside of Hu Tao vape.
i give a fuck about c6r5 comparisons, i wanna see what's the highest potential a character can achieve. These peasant f2p comparisons aren't realistic whatsoever when u see the whaled out artifacts with unreal ratios.

I'd be more interested in seeing what the difference is with Yelan/Xingqiu supporting hyper carry Hu Tao/Yoimiya/Diluc, or Ayaka freeze comp maybe. Or Raiden/Miko taser. Basically how do they compare when being the hydro component of a elemental reaction team.
Mostly interchangeable but in Hu Tao teams she struggles to keep up her hydro application. Xingqiu's Sword rain around himself applies hydro which Yelan lacks.
Was really worried about XQ, because it's always painful to understand what your favourite character isn't meta already. But now I think this boy aging as a good wine
Yelan is completely overated, people are only pulling her for her armpit which is quite pathetic. Xingqiu's hydro application is better than that of Yelan. But it is a bit difficult to not get trashed and have the highest dmg amplifier for fading twillight at the same time. Hence the slighty lower numbers. If i use favonius warbow: i end up with 6.7-8.2k I have tested multiple times for each weapon to ensure some consistency in numbers.
@@slampest Hey! Thanks a lot for making such an effort to test consistently and bring back answers! Unfortunately, I was asking about C0 R1 (R1 Aqua Simulacra) because I was wondering if it was worth getting it, and also since it's what many people would have liked to know. I was less familiar with the Damage Calculation Equation at the time and so it was far less evident to me what kind of a significance +Dam% Bonus is and what difference it would ultimately make in the numbers. I proceeded to get Aqua Simulacra shortly after writing my post, seing as to how it was becoming the BIS for many Characters, and I don't regret it. My Artifacts (2pc HoD+ 2pc ToM) really were better suited to having a Bow that provided +Crit Damage%, so I went for it, as farming decent Artifacts is just a crazy investment too.
Thanks for the awesome comparison video. I am so tempted to pull for Yelan, but Dendro is so dang close! I also want to pull for Itto and now Kuki, since they were both so great in the story quest. Hoyo sure makes these decisions tough sometimes. My main DPS is Ganyu at C2 and I also have Ayato, so pulling for Yelan seems like I wouldn't get that huge of an upgrade? Also have C6 Xingchu. For anyone pulling for Yelan and her constellations, good luck to you.
For a c6 dps showdown, honestly kinda hard to tell. c6 Yelan is absolutely nuts ALONE (even worse with full buffs) while almost everyone else need a setup. I suggest Ayaka, Raiden. MAYBE Ganyu and Hu Tao
Ayaka plus Shenhe beats everything. Yelan is limited to dmg bonus buffs since the only hp buff is her own, so alone she’ll do great, in a full team she will definitely fall behind
Ganyu doesn’t work. I impulse summoned and I tried to make her and ganyu work but unfortunately it isn’t meant to be. If they expanded her thingy to atk with charge atks that would maker her so much better. Imagine u have fischle/raiden/miko applying electro yelan ult and hypothetically if knees ult was off field u could have a remote long range murder machine killing things across the map. I tried it in abyys with Klee Baal and raiden it was insane how fast I cleaned up. Floor 9 without any cc because my stuff would travel to the hilichurls
Honestly, I think you probably should have included Yelan with Favonius bow, as that is the most-commonly used weapon on her. I know from a speedrun and strict-DPS perspective slingshot has higher numbers, but in terms of practical use, rotational consistency, and base stat-efficiency Favonius is the better weapon. Most people aren't using Yelan strictly as a solo-damage carry, but rather as an off-field sub-DPS support role. I'd say using Sac Sword on Xingqiu is the equivalent of running Favonius on Yelan.
@@aizen_yadava Their point is that the comparison isn't fair, because Xingqiu is building ER (instead of atk/crit that will show up in the comparison) and Yelan is not. Almost as if IWTL has character bias towards Yelan. @the_tube 2 My point is that neither xingqiu nor Yelan can take advantage of bennett buff. Xingqiu is off field and doesn't snapshot
As someone who doesn't use Bennet, Yelan is an absolute improvement in my Raiden, Xiangling, Zhongli (previously Xingqui C6 with sac sword) team. Especially with the Elergy and C1 I got from rolling for Homa she becomes an insane support, buffing attack, elemental mastery and her scaling dmg boost, and literally has no energy issues. The thing about c0 f2p yelan vs max potential xingqui is... well xingqui is max potential... you might get lucky or with a little effort, you can get c1 or have an elergy already, in which case her potential skyrockets.
Would be fun to see a childe vs ayato vs yelan showdown. Alternatively, Yelan vs Kazuha vs Raiden bc they can all be DPSes at C6 despite support/sub dps fitting them better at C0
@@youmadbro7 Easy, her 2nd talent increases all dmg up to 50% and it doesnt depend on reactions. Just like Mona but 3x the duration and with Xingqiu's hydro aplication.
@@aron666able but that's only for teams that require hydro character as well as dependent on main dps to do normal attacks in order to proc yelan's burst
Kinda the opposite, unless you main hutao vape team and have C6 Xingqiu you can consider to skip her, otherwise you should pull, I'm a dolphin and even I don't have C6 Xingqiu, let alone main Hu Tao despite having her
@@Hhhh22222-w Nah even as a whale, I am skipping her. I already have 2 whaled teams (Eula/Raiden and Ganyu). My XQ has been benched for the longest time, he's only used to shred pyro shields now. @@chaitanyadamke4839 Nope, xinqiu doesnt snapshot so take it as Xinqiu without bennett vs Yelan dmg, though you can buff xinqiu with his E but I doubt it will make that much huge difference
@@andrewjamez9741 But since yelan's burst is shorter and she has weaker application, you end up missing some pyronado vapes which is a significant dps loss. Also, her damage bonus passive (which averages out to 20-30%) doesnt help that much since Raiden already has so much damage bonus
20:05 remember guys this is an incredibly SCUFFED (simply because of slingshot lol) Yelan build being compared to a highly invested and expensive whale Xingqiu build. Honestly, while I appreciate the time taken to make this video. It skews the perception of both Xingqiu and Yelan. Most players shouldn't expect their C6 Xingqiu to be this strong and players also shouldn't expect their C0 Yelan to be this weak. Take the video with a grain of salt. Yelan's weapon choice is far from her recommended choice. And Xingqiu is using some of his best weapons. Anyway, I don't care for "who's better" because, as a Hu Tao main, I'm riding the double Hydro train and pairing them both together all the time.
The only dps showcase that mattered is the abyss one sense it included ER requirements. I wouldn't say that a low ER Yelan beats a sac XQ. In the second rotation she wouldn't have her burst up and ultimately her dps would be much lower. Also keep in mind that half of Xingqiu's kit was ignored in this video and that's the reason why he the sac version is so far behind. XQ applies more hydro, which didn't matter here. He also increases resistance to interruption, reduces damage taken and heals. Normally that helps a lot. For some reason there was Zhongli present with his unbreakable shield. XQ also lowers hydro res. This effect was twice as weak here because of Zhongli. Yelan's kit on the other hand was fully utilised.
99% of your time is in over world, abyss doesn't matter at all if it takes you 1 min or 10 min to 36 star, as long as you can complete the abyss Hydro application mattered in the team comp showcase, Zhongli was there to remove variable of being interrupted or killed, even then Yelan's higher HP pool would've allowed her to survive while I can't say the same for Xingqiu Yelan was using r5 stringshot and lv 9 talents, her animation cancelling also wasn't used during solo DMG showcase, if she had her bis weapon ar r1 and/or lv 12 talents, she'd beat out a whale C6R5 Xingqiu, the hydro application wouldn't matter cause her DMG would out do the vape, you also forget that this C6 sac Xingqiu is well built and has lv12 talents, majority of players won't even have C6 Xingqiu In all practical sense and scenario, it'd be better than have Yelan than Xingqiu since she has a much higher potential and is cheaper and more F2P friendly to build, unless you have a C6R5 lv 12 Xingqiu and use a Hu Tao vape team you can consider skipping her, but even then it actually be better to have both for your Hu Tao team
Not to mention abyss showcase had Pyro resonance and Benny buff which Xingqiu can utilize, Yelan got no utilisation from either buff, yet they still performed the same
@@Hhhh22222-w who the hell even uses Xingqiu on-field? For all the people that say he can take advantage of Bennett's ATK buff, he doesn't even snapshot 😂
A great video as always. I think you can make a second video with Yoimiya and Xq/Yelan while clearing 12-3-3. Some people say that Yoimiya-Xingqiu-Yelan-Xiangling is the strongest team for Yelan.
@@Hhhh22222-w well yes technically but if you have been playing a while those things add up and it might make yelan not worth. I have both c6 r5 sac sword and c0 yelan but I honestly don’t know which is better. I never built xq so I might have wasted my money but yelan is fun to use so I think it was worth
One point to take: i think the reason why the team oriented xinqiu(s) are a bit faster or close to yelan is because XQ actually benefits from bennnett's attack boost while yelan does not. I think another comparison for team oriented would be dropping any attack boost and try something like a reaction team with surcose. edit: also, spending $1000 for a 6 second improvement on the abyss makes me think yelan and sacsword XQ is not bad at all so please remember that the jade XQ is super expensive.
Problem is that attack buff are like the by far the easiest thing to get in the game and ignoring it to make things "fair" is very unrealistic to any real gameplay. It's like making a dmg comparison between Itto and Ayaka but not using Kazuha to make things "fair".
@@michaelk1982 It's not about "fairness", it's about showcasing characters in teams that are appropriate to them. It's like comparing Kazuha and Sucrose in a mono element team. Sure, it tells you that Kazuha is better in that type of team. And that's valuable. But it doesn't tell you about the characters overall.
@@Yaotzin86 the difference is that it's impossible to drop every single atk buff in the game, majority of teams always have noblesse, some teams have 5* weapons that give atk% to the entire party. Not a single character outside of C4 Yelan buffs HP n that's a disadvantage u can't ignore by just "removing every single possible atk buff" in a DPS comparison between an hp scaling character n an atk scaling character. People do compare ttds sucrose and kazuha in mono element teams and reacts teams. The only thing that makes some people prefer kazuha is his better grouping n him being easier to double swirl
@@michaelk1982 There's a slight difference between "there are always some attack buffs" and "using the biggest one in the game, by far". Might as well just say "Bennet is amazing and buffs Xingqiu and not Yelan". It doesn't tell you anything else.
@@Yaotzin86 Yelan not being able to be buffed by Bennett or noblesse doesn't mean u can't use it to buff xinqgiu when doing a DPS comparison between them. Kinda wish you hadn’t used Bennett’s for yelan in abyss, like you said he does absolutely nothing for her, I’d be interested to see how yelan performs without a handicap
Guys I have a tip for those who can't beat Masanori within 1 second. This tip is for a solo character though. Here's how to rotate to absolutely 1 second the whole fight. 1) Bring a solo char of your choice at 1 HP. 2) DIE 3) Celebrate
getting good characters like yelan is absolutely good, but lately i think its kinda suck because getting proper artifacts for them is really hard, once you get that good artifacts where you get CR and CD sub stats you enhance it, and it will be always def or def % that increased from enhance 🙂
Since her team performance isn’t more significant than xinqiu, I would be interested to see the damage she adds in a hu Tao Vape teams xinqiu v without hydro resonance
From my experiment Hu Tao with Yelan did more damage though you might miss 1-2 vape I still managed to clear the abyss faster than Xingqui. But who knows my Yelan artifact may be better than Xingqui although my Yelan only use 2 pice of HoD while Xingqui is with 4pc emblem.
you do realize she was c0 and running a 3-star bow on top of being on a support build right? On the other hand. xq was c6 with a 5-star r5 sword(a broken sword on top of that) and then they had equal time clears in team showcase and yelan already won solo. Just like he said, take this as a grain of salt so you can't compare their damage performances. After all, no one uses a jade cutter on xq optimally and no one uses a slingshot on yelan if your on 4pc emblem build unless you don't have decent artifacts. As for vapes, xq solo with hu tao is enough hydro but yelan xq hu tao are now one of the best hu tao teams too.
@@chiranjeevsingh6513 I do some test with Hutao comp and Hutao with Yelan clear abyss 12 faster than Xingqui but with Yelan I miss some vape though.( My Yelan is C0 with 2pc HoD and r2 fav bow while Xingqui is C6 with r4 sac sword and 4pc blem

A more realistic comparison would be both xingqiu and yelan running around 200 ER and sac sword/fav bow since thats what most people would be using them with. iirc calcs show that they do similar amounts of dps at that level
I’m so glad you put this out because I’ve been trying to find a good side by side C0 Yelan vs C6 Xingqiu comparison that wasn’t unfairly skewed in favor of Yelan. Like this was a pretty good objective comparison that made it pretty easy to see the comparisons better. One of the things I don’t see in a lot of videos being considered is Bennett’s effect since XQ benefits from his buff but Yelan can’t because of her HP scaling as of 2.7 (which I honestly think is more of a drawback than a benefit overall). So it was really good to see you mention it!
You Need to consider that Xinqui is 99% offield DPS. His Burst don’t snapshot from benny buff so his damage is normaly less than shown in the abyss showcase.
This is why I wish theorycrafters would release their calcs and testings. 140 ER slingshot yelan and R5 jade xq is unrealistic and makes no sense, I have no idea why this iwtl guy didnt just compare them with sac weapons and 180-200 ER since thats what most peoppe would run them with.
Is there a reason why he pronounces Maguu Kenki as Kaguu Menki? Might have missed something. But other than that, this is a very great reference for pulling/building yelan as compared to xinqiu. Nice work!
As much as we all love Xinqui, I have to admit Yelan is seriously cracked. I tested her on my friends account with Aqua Simulacra and basically she was like a one woman army. I just ran with her tying up mobs to death all across Sumeru.
@@roxas5071 not really tbh. They are very close in terms of combat however I find that for most units in the game with an average ICD, she prevails at supporting them. Xingqiu excells at supporting characters with little to no ICD like Hu Tao(because of his better application), although with so many new characters being released with longer ICDs it's making Xingqiu more and more niche. Those people will still find a way to cry about c6 XQ being better
b b but xq has healing and resisteance thous making him better
it depends on a lot of factors like teams, buffs, etc. also dont look at solo dmg and say "wow yelan does 1.5-2x xq dmg". solo dmg to compare strength is one of worst metrics. you can see that in the specific team shown in the video, they have basically the same performance.
a lot of the video had yelan onfield tho, which wont be the case in yelan's real teams.
when yelan is off field she cant use her a4 passive which means c6 Xq will overtake her once more. (as you can see from the only fight that was played off field.)
@@whisperwalkful if the same condition is applied to xq that also means he wont be getting bennet buff.
1st fight against the cryo flower shows yelan still excels better off field in terms of dmg wven without a4 passive. So also since his yelan is acually not that greatly built compared to xq,safe to assume yelan beats xq in terms of dmg in every situation
(Obv not refering to the jade cutter xq.

If built as dps, he can still pass the dps checks of abyss; he can nuke; and I'd say he could compete with ~some~ c0 dpses
Hey thanks for the video, i would like to make a point (to clarify, i understand this is only a DPS showdown)
I would LOVE to see some of the long fights without zhongli shield.
Don't worry Xingqiu is better in any way.
@@Hhhh22222-w maybe for the breakthrough barb reset.

They won’t let you down so long as you build them correctly.
agreed with your points, except C0 yelan is objectively worse than xingqiu with hutao.
that's just wrong , yelan hydro application is enough for evrey pyro DPS except for hu tao and klee but klee even xingqiu isn't enough

Bruhh poor childe
Childe c6? You mean childe c0? Lmao
@@shinymew1213 I see what you are saying, yeah it's true she supposed to be a support, didn't really think of that but still, he has her at C6 after all which does make her at least a sub-dps if not a full dps.
@@TheUnholyToast1 Kuki Shinobu replacing Jean here eventually, since heal & electro application is lit on this comp
*angry whale noises*
The team comp one seemed well unfair really when yelan has no benefit over bennet ult or double pyro so her dps has a ton of diminishing returns disregarding the level 3 bow damage vs 4 and 5 star weapons. At that point your not measuring their skill damage, because xinqui scales with attack and you have a bennet buff. You could attack with either of the other 3 and had better results.
yeah the recurve bow seems like a much better choice as it’s way stronger on yelan and completely ftp non gacha
@@astra6457 Slingshot isn't gacha either?
You get those from chests.
Incredible how xingqiu still is so valuable even introducing a new 5star supposively to replace him
only some people know that C6 4* cannot easily be replaced with C0 5*. take fischl and sucrose for example.
most people just don't use fischl and sucrose because fischl doesn't synergize with vape/melt/freeze comps😂 and sucrose has every catalyst users issue (auto aim)
i still use sucrose despite having kazuha, venti got benched tho. and fischl is almost always present on my EC team
Just those started pack chars what was made at start of game will be always broken:)

All in all the 5* counterparts can outperformed when c2 is activated
Considering how bennet's attack buff is completely useless for yelan but it increases dmg considerably for xingqiu, results werent too bad
Yelan’s damage is based on HP, while xingqius is based on ATK. Bennet’s buff is only for ATK, which is why yelan does not get significantly boosted while xingqiu does
XQ doesn't benefit much from Bennet as his burst doesn't snapshot. He benefits from Noblesse though

@@joeyisabsb1 Yep, because the most of the damage comes from the pyro characters not them.

Favonius Warbow is a better F2P weapon for Yelan as everyone gets one. Would that Yelan be even better than the one in this showcase?
no it would be worse because in this video he’s using an unrealistic 140 ER build with slingshot to try to artificially make yelan’s damage look better.

I'm more interested in how well they pair with Hu Tao. Particularly C6 Xingqiu with R5 Lion's Roar.
That R5 Jade Cutter though...
Making it hard to grasp compared to R1 PJC/Mist.
The fact he’s free + always available to wish for probably makes up for that

I know from a speedrun and strict-DPS perspective slingshot has higher numbers, but in terms of practical use, rotational consistency, and base stat-efficiency Favonius is the better weapon.
Most people aren't using Yelan strictly as a solo-damage carry, but rather as an off-field sub-DPS support role. I'd say using Sac Sword on Xingqiu is the equivalent of running Favonius on Yelan.
Also, would've been nicer if the team comps didn't include bennet
@@guesswho8947 Bennett isn't buffing either Yelan or Xingqiu if they're off field though
@@tabbune Bennet can't buff yelan, like his buff is useless on yelan 💀
Bro it's a DPS showdown 😭 read the title
Love your vids man! Keep up the good work ;)
i just found this video which was what i was exactly looking for, amazing content
Would be fun to see a childe vs ayato vs yelan showdown. Alternatively, Yelan vs Kazuha vs Raiden bc they can all be DPSes at C6 despite support/sub dps fitting them better at C0
Raiden only needs until C3 for Max DPS..
oh no my man just sparked another fanfic within the community about masanori :shockedemoji: *gasp*
Yelan is about to be the second kazuha
What? What so game changing about her kit? She's pretty similar to already meta character (xingqiu)
@@youmadbro7 Kazuha was compared to sucrose a lot and turned out being great.
Same as yelan but people realized sooner with her.
@@youmadbro7 yeah same for kazuha bro, yelan is the exact same, more fun to play, stronger in most situations and better aethestically
You missed a pun there, should have called it a Xingqiudown
Basically if you're a f2p with C6 XQ, Yelan isn't really worth it unless you main a pyro main dps like Hutao.
If you're f2p maining Hutao and really wanna optimise her team, XQ + Yelan is her new best team. But it depends where your priorities are, quality > quantity or vice versa.
For Hutao I like using Elegy on my Yelan. It's crazy how much Hu Tao's damage gets boosted
you should have tested with the raiden national team, in this case yelan out dmg and outtime xinqiu in both dmg and buffing
Nope this puts her at a disadvantage cause you can miss some pyronado vapes due to weaker hydro application
@@PieZuri and she benefits nothing from benny where as a c6 xingqiu would probably dish out more dmg
Anyway, I don't care for "who's better" because, as a Hu Tao main, I'm riding the double Hydro train and pairing them both together all the time.
what would you use for f2p yelan then?
Yeah but the main takeaway is unless you have C6R5 well built Xingqiu, you should pull for Yelan
Yeah and this Yelan had 100 crit rate which is unnecessary, it could’ve been much better with recurve or sharpshooters oath

99% of your time is in over world, abyss doesn't matter at all if it takes you 1 min or 10 min to 36 star, as long as you can complete the abyss
Hydro application mattered in the team comp showcase, Zhongli was there to remove variable of being interrupted or killed, even then Yelan's higher HP pool would've allowed her to survive while I can't say the same for Xingqiu
Yelan was using r5 stringshot and lv 9 talents, her animation cancelling also wasn't used during solo DMG showcase, if she had her bis weapon ar r1 and/or lv 12 talents, she'd beat out a whale C6R5 Xingqiu, the hydro application wouldn't matter cause her DMG would out do the vape, you also forget that this C6 sac Xingqiu is well built and has lv12 talents, majority of players won't even have C6 Xingqiu
In all practical sense and scenario, it'd be better than have Yelan than Xingqiu since she has a much higher potential and is cheaper and more F2P friendly to build, unless you have a C6R5 lv 12 Xingqiu and use a Hu Tao vape team you can consider skipping her, but even then it actually be better to have both for your Hu Tao team

Some people say that Yoimiya-Xingqiu-Yelan-Xiangling is the strongest team for Yelan.
getting r5 5 star weapon is harder the getting one yelan
Even the R5 sac sword is harder to get than one Yelan🤣
Getting C6 Xingqiu and R5 sac sword lv12 talents, is harder than getting C1 Yelan
@@REN-jf6zp my brother I have r11 sac sword bow and claymore
@@Hhhh22222-w well yes technically but if you have been playing a while those things add up and it might make yelan not worth. I have both c6 r5 sac sword and c0 yelan but I honestly don’t know which is better. I never built xq so I might have wasted my money but yelan is fun to use so I think it was worth
@@shinymew1213 But getting 1 Yelan is still easier since there's Guarantee unlike those 4 star.
Same way just bcoz Itto n xiao don't have access to VV doesn't mean u can't use it in a DPS comparison between those two and other dps characters that have access to VV n Kazuha/sucrose buff
Big brain - using both on Raiden national team. Riskier without Kokomi, but way more deeps.

Guys I have a tip for those who can't beat Masanori within 1 second. This tip is for a solo character though. Here's how to rotate to absolutely 1 second the whole fight.
1) Bring a solo char of your choice at 1 HP.
2) DIE
3) Celebrate
getting good characters like yelan is absolutely good, but lately i think its kinda suck because getting proper artifacts for them is really hard, once you get that good artifacts where you get CR and CD sub stats you enhance it, and it will be always def or def % that increased from enhance 🙂
Yelan actually replaced albedo in hu Tao's best team it's now hu tao, xingqui, yelan and zhongli

This comparison feels more unfairly skewed towards xingqiu though, he has access to a r5 5* weapon
I like that by the end of it, it just became a xiangling showcase
Xingqiu's reliable and easy to use, but Yelan's way more fun and more varied in her play style.

I’m surprised you used Bennett for a Yelan team, considering he doesn’t boost her damage at all.
Really odd
Should have used kazuha
Is there a reason why he pronounces Maguu Kenki as Kaguu Menki? Might have missed something. But other than that, this is a very great reference for pulling/building yelan as compared to xinqiu. Nice work!
As much as we all love Xinqui, I have to admit Yelan is seriously cracked. I tested her on my friends account with Aqua Simulacra and basically she was like a one woman army. I just ran with her tying up mobs to death all across Sumeru.
Yeah but ngl at combat Xingqiu OVERALL surpasses
But she is better on exploration
@@roxas5071 not really tbh. They are very close in terms of combat however I find that for most units in the game with an average ICD, she prevails at supporting them. Xingqiu excells at supporting characters with little to no ICD like Hu Tao(because of his better application), although with so many new characters being released with longer ICDs it's making Xingqiu more and more niche. For example Yelan is still far superior for a freeze Ayaka comp than Xingqiu
