Yelan seems to always steal the show on dps showdowns, not that I’m complaining. I just find it hilarious that that she is the fastest way for some characters to defeat a boss.
Tbf, using Mona here is probably better and more accessible than using Yelan. She has her own nuke and Nilou does more damage too. Before we trash on Nilou for some unknown reason (as many do with Kokomi), she did most of the damage there.
So without Yelan, Nilou was able to kill the 12-3-2 boss with just an additional 6 seconds, honestly that's pretty good and I appreciate him including that run and classified the Nilou+Yelan run as a bonus run.
She needs 6s more of damage, yes. That's different than completing it in another 6s, because this boss goes invisible and needs to be revealed with a catalyze reaction (or by destroying one of the options it spawns). In practice, the Nilou team probably would have needed ~15-20s more because of the boss mechanic.
Nilou did most of the damage though. And Mona is probably a better replacement to Yelan and more accessible in this comp, with her own Nuke and/or further boosting Nilou.
@@vixenrana5507 its hard to swirl Hydro with Mona cus her normal attacks arent enough for that, and her skill is to much for that. Also, C4 Yelan + her talent boosts her dmg more
@@vixenrana5507 So, she didn't carry the clear, Yelan did. Also Mona is more work to set up and doesn't scale hp like Yelan so can't take advantage of hydro res like Yelan and Nilou.
Itto really is such a consistent DPS. He can basically fight any enemy, and is good is every situation be it single target or AOE. This just proves why he is still my favorite charcter to play in the whole game.
@@Aliens1337 what? Itto is able to kill abyss heralds very easily with no danger to himself. Not as fast as the correct elements but consistently enough to clear any abyss chamber with them. And never having to worry about taking damage
@@tehCostHD Yep. Fully agree. Got frustrated from being one shot with level 60 Collei and Nilou being one-shot in Abyss 12, so I just pulled out Itto and breezed though.
C6 Nilou is crazy fun, but I noticed you didn't always utilize her C4. You should have used her melee stance skill FIRST to buff her Burst by 50% for 8s. It actually does a lot more damage and could have shortened her times significantly
@@Grim_Bud you can span the skill if you use her normals, so it doesn't take that long. Plus a 50% damage boost, especially with C6 is definitely more beneficial
@@Grim_Bud Not really. You just have to spam E-E-n1 which is like 2 seconds and it will be enough to let Nilou one rotation the prism. But instead he used Yelan to do that and added 6s with a dumb excuse to the run.
No one tops her like I have her on a not so good build but she still out does my hu Tao vape dmg by FAR like she was one of the best releases and is still relevant since 2.1 or whenever she released she was a blessing onto my account cuz I got her early and won 50/50 after that I had to fight tooth and nail to get characters I wanted ;-;
I’m starting to think you should use Xingqiu only instead of Yelan for DPS showcases/videos where the purpose is to highlight another character specifically. Due to the sheer nature of a C6 Yelan’s kit, she becomes the highlighted DPS no matter what. The only thing support-wise she provides that Xingqiu doesn’t is a dmg buff with her Q, but even Xingqiu can still make up for it in a way with his C2
Still really surprised by how nilou performs in all of these showdown. While she's really not for everyone, I can say that she is way better than what the majority makes her out to be.
Except, in the boss showcases, she's utilizing vaporize, and simply replacing her with Mona or even Childe will yield better times. And in the abyss, her clear times are average at best. Don't forget that the current abyss modifier heavily favors teams with dendro reactions, so Cyno and Nilou damage numbers are already being inflated.
@@richlee6331 She is a hydro character & can therefore utilize any reaction to go with her element. It so happens that in "single target" situations, vaporize functions better because of the huge frontloaded reactions. That being said, by your logic, Cyno is just another electro character & replacing him with probably Keqing would yield better times. The point here isn't that she isn't the best at vape, he's just maximizing their dmg for speed runs. I think their solo & abyss runs are the only thing we should actually consider cos everything else is usually using a support to help them output huge screenshot damage.
Anyone who says she’s bad or weak is an idiot. She’s strong with shit units that do zero personal damage. Her buff to bloom in AOE is very high. People just hate that the most fun part of her kit, bountiful cores, is locked behind a team restriction. These showcases are also very poor at showing how strong the units are. It’s a speed running whale showcase.
She turned out better than I thought in her niche but too restrictive to me for now, while her other options ask for a lot of investment to works. I might pull for her rerrun if we get more fitting units for her in the meantime.
@@Stxrryskyeee C6 alone then Yelan. Because Raiden c6 is seemingly underwhelming but ofc her c2 is what c6 normally is. But you can always use both of them for 2 sides.
Welp. You know, in a game like this, stuff like Raiden who can cheat power moves on herself and moreover so her teammates is always gonna be great. Put dps on said unit, it became broken. Eventually when bigger number comes Raiden will always be an option because she 'cheats'. Honkai has even crazier SP filling characters or you call batteries in your game. Arknights has Myrtle who is sunflower (PvZ) on steroids. 100% usage in CCs. And she doesn't even bring damage.
That was SUCH a fun video! And it looks like it needed a lot of work to put together, so a huge round of applause to you!~ I was honestly very surprised by how well Itto did... I never noticed how large his AoE was. Nilou too seems to be so incredibly powerful, considering her teammates are all free 4-Stars as well!~
@@tristansorronda6812 Yelan c6 can obliterate Raiden c6 yes. Yelan is currently the strongest character in the whole game when it comes to damage output.
Well he did mention that its a team performance not solo tho. And the jobs she did even is only on 1 team and its even not the majority of the damage unlike before. Its like explicitly saying dont use a part of the kit of a unit just to satisfy u no?
@@HSRFirefly Yes and no. Yelan can solo these rooms at his level of investment which is basically maxed out. It's just not fair to other characters to put Yelan in one team because all you need to do is slot her in the other character's team and their times would decrease, regardless of team synergy. Even Itto's time would decrease because his Yelan is just that insane. Xingqiu would have been a better choice because his damage isn't nearly as insane as C6R5 Yelan even if you put R5 Mistsplitter on him.
it's honrstly unfair to use yelan or kazuha in these runs since they would deal atleast1/3 of the damage in cyno and itto's run you could argue that kazuha did the heavy lifting (especially cyno's run)
He didn’t include Yelan in the run as it’s a cut run. Why are you all complaining? It’s fun to see how he maximize team dps speedrun by coming up with strats like vape Nilou to clear a chamber and have Yelan clear the other, he’s still including the non Yelan run so I don’t see what the problem is
Before watching this, i bet Cyno would "lose" in most scenarios I do have him at lvl90 but he still deal mediocre damage compared to other selfish dps like Xiao, Itto and even Noelle
@@lalilola3770 For starters, 1- he never put the characters in their best in slot 2- he never uses the character properly. Take here for example, nilou is a character who's kit screams to use her in a bloom team. He didn't even touch her potential. 3- every character have their own part where they shine most. Eg, nilou is a character who shines most in an AOE scenario and cyno with mostly single targets but he decided to compare both the character against a single type of enemy. My point is this whole video just worthless since he is comparing 2 character who have their value change drastically in accordance with increasing enemy. If you want to know what I'm talking about check out his other videos. Especially that one video about diluc, where he didn't even use him and stated some dumb bs that "This is his best slot, by meaning just not using him"
That monstruous vape damage from Nilou was actually surprising. But no matter what, this just shows why the Traveller was literally stunned with primal fear, when first witnessing Musou Shinsetsu. Raiden Shogun remains the GOAT.
Honestly, I don't get why people is always so eager to compare Raiden to other dps. She is meant to be a Nuker and kill things fast. That's why most of her damage comes from a single slash. We already know she is amazing. There is no point comparing Raiden, with her massive single nuke at the start of her burst, to dps who only buff their attacks like Itto/Cyno and don't do a nuke at the start 🤷♂️
its kinda like a c6 noelle vs c0 itto, its fair that at c6 kekin with heavy investment on her and fischl she will have about the same clear time as a c0 cyno team, that's what happnes with most of 4* characters with their 5* version
vaporize does that, ayato C6 does that too, and faster... but nilou can't vaporize and also bloom team, and if you really wanted to play ayato do it WITH nilou in a bloom team =) not like we really need to focus on optimization for abyss... national one side, bloom or freeze the other unga bunga 36 star stars for the past 2 years straight.
yeah, Ayato is not really a nuker. he's the type to have consistent damage all throughout without having to set up every single support for a single nuke
@@aruakabane2077 C6 ayato can do 900k faster than childe's animation, but until C6 you are correct he is more about consistent damage which is why i pulled him
I struggle to see where Bennett giving the ATK boost on top of Itto’s already ludicrous ATK in his burst is more beneficial than 20% Geo RES Shred, 15% Geo DMG Bonus and 20% extra Geo Crit DMG, idk maybe it works out better thanks to crystallise, I just am genuinely curious as to if Zhongli would have been better than Bennett
Yeah, Zhongli would be better. The Itto team really wasn't optimal.. AT ALL. Only 2 geo characters? No snapshot? Bennett...? Itto, Gorou, Zhongli, Flex/Albedo is a much better team comp than Bennett + Kazuha.
Thank you for including the Nilou Yelan run, it’s so fun to see how much Yelan can do, and vape Nilou is such a cool speedrunning concept. Please keep including these creative speedruns as that’s what I’m here for.
this would've been much better with someone like Ayato, Xiao or Yae instead or Raiden. Everyone knows she'll clear fastest so it's redundant to put her here. I would have been more interested to see how the other "mid" dps units fare against Cyno and Nilou. Even a Nilou vs Childe aoe comparision would have been more interesting.
My thoughts are if you use Yelan (or any other character that uses their own damage to shave off a significant amount of HP) that run should be done once with that character and once with a more traditional comp.
Yes Nilou has her flaws but you can't say she disappoints when built She buffs a reaction that requires an element only 3 characters have currently, so ofc she seems more niche now, but she'll get progressively better as more dendros are released

@@dizzlegrizzle1919 Exactly, she's made for Bloom and destroys groups of enemies. She being competitive as a Hydro DPS is a nice surprise, she still did 70% of the boss in 2 seconds
I feel like while displaying 4 screens at the same time can be chaotic, I think its better in the long term because people can always replay the video if they ever miss anything. And you get the benefits of seeing the comparisons togehter at the same time.
Nilo with great artifacts and C6R5 is broken, but in the 12 3 2 run the dmg of Yelan is so insane, so if you throw yelan away, nilou's time is probably as long as Itto's
They should design an Endless Abyss wave stage (like one of that event) to see which team can kill the most with highest score in a fixed time limit, that way it won't be skewed to see which has highest up-front damage, rather a true measure of Damage per Second, sustained DPS over 3mins etc.
I pulled Nilou and was surprised that she was competitive with the others considering how she's been trashed. With Barbara, Collei and traveller too! And I pulled for her because her pretty dancing convinced me.... Anyways, thanks for this showcase, at least it shows me I didn't go too wrong pulling for Nilou 😊😊😁
Nilou rocks she become one of my favourite after Yelan, i hope nahida makes nilou another level of monster, for now i find her team to be lacking in the dendro department

Itto is still the most fun among them lmao. Anyways, is it really better to use Bennett than use another geo to trigger Gorou's "crunch" state? I'd personally rather use Albedo. Also, it's kinda common knowledge for Itto mains to not use alt key switch into burst.
He's my favourite character to play alongside Childe. As for using Bennett I'm not sure. Personally I never use Benny with Itto as most of the time I'm using Childe International in Abyss, plus I just prefer using Albedo
Bennett is there to straight up buff Itto's damage. If it's to trigger Crunch then I'd rather take Zhongli for shield and all RES shred although Albedo can provide an alternative playstyle that's not only about Itto whacking up dudes.
On one side, Yelan + Nilou was kinda cheating, but you mentioned the whole Nilou + Yelan. On the other side, the full abyss run with Barbara was pretty fun to watch, this was much better than the Diluc run. And yeah, Raiden was going to win, it was a no brainer, but still, fun video.
IWNTL should never use C6 Yelan on these showcases. Just use xingqui. If you used yelan to make a character's time shorter, well you might as well use her on the others. I always felt disappointed every time yelan was there because it always became her showcase real fast
@@shachede6828 Zhongli won't give faster clears here. Without Bennett, Kazuha wouldn't be able to wipe off enemies as fast resulting in slower runs. Also Zhongli skill animation is quite long.
Because Killing enemies in a hit and finishing in 30 seconds is better than killing enemies in 1:30 seconds in abyss. It saves time and benefits abyss runs
@@cosmicstargirI Nope, Eula has backloaded damage that is extremely different from frontloaded damage dealt by Nukers. That's why Eula Speed runners mostly do so with C6. There isn't an objective character that's the best overall, trying to find one is just futile as accounts differ and situations also differ
@@cosmicstargirI Raiden has consistent damage. after her burst, there's infusion window and rotate afterwards for buff. its not only her initial hit. Yelan is also consistent and yet clears blazing fast. Ayaka is another one since "Shenhe" has arrived. her NA/CA deals 50k+++ each hit and CA could go up to 200k each hit(C6) + that powerful burst damage.
I think you should have mentioned that Nilou's Hydro damage is locked behind her constellations, in particular her C6. That being said, her Bountiful Cores have a similar potential at CO and with about a 30% buff from her signature weapon.
I dont think so because if you give her normal crit build she pretty much the same as other hydro dps in vape team but since bloom cant crit its not recomended. C6 is for her max potential to go full hp build
It's not locked behind constellations, because her dps isn't horrible with a hydro crit build. It's just not as good as her bloom build because she's made for it. It's like how Ganyu can work with reverse melt fairly well, but really her best teams are freeze.

@@mik0zlove358 I think Sapwood is better of the 2 bc you don't use her on-field hydro application much. It's better for the bloom team to stack her HP as high as possible (max 75k HP but if you have her signature weapon, you can go higher for her EM buff.), which means you might not get as much EM as build full EM on another hydro character. Any stats other than HP aren't that important if you play her off-field, so Sapwood is better bc it can give EM buff to the one who proc bloom. In current F2P bloom team of Nilou, DMC, Collei and Barbara. Barbara is mostly the one who proc bloom, so you stack EM on her.
@@LaSureka well, he could have used Kokomi instead of Barbara, but he didn't, that's something. The rarity doesn't really matter when most of the boosting teammates are 4 star characters. For artifact, I would agree, she doesn't have her own set yet. But knowing how intense her scaling can be at 74K HP (max), they will not focus on that. She will be providing more damage to her E stance and team utility.
Yelan shouldn't be doing damage other wise it's not X character being showcased, it's just Yelan destroying everything. i mean any character can be top tier dps if Yelan walks on the field for 2 seconds and deletes everything. not much point to a showcase of other characters if Yelan is doing all the heavy lifting.
It would be fun to see an Ayaka/Shenhe vs Raiden showdown. I feel like that Cryo combo is one of the only (C6) combos than can compete with Raiden's hilarious burst damage.
Yeah I see that everytime too. I pulled for her and she's using only iron sting. I run her too with barbara, DMC and collei and it's so fun to play her on the abyss.
Idk why tf Raiden is always in these. She's legit her own category, a nuke dps who needs a team. of course sustained DPS aren't going to beat a nuke dps 😮💨 when 2 of them don't even have proper supports yet
even with Cyno's proper support, it won't beat Raiden's clear time. Nilou on the otherhand is F2P friendly as shown in one of the clips here pairing with Barbara MC(dendro) and Collei. removing collei and adding Nahida would make the team even stronger. Cyno is that underwhelming against these characters.

The fact, that this is a C6R5 comparison video should be highlighted much more! It needs to be part of the video title. You say it seconds before the Ad. But it took me until the Nilou fight against the new enemy to realise, something is off.
Number 1: Putting c6r5 in title, hardly anyone would click. Number 2: You didn't pay attention that's not his fault. Number 3: IWTL hardly ever do F2P or low spend content, is always whale, c6 r5 stuff.

proof hoyo doesnt know how to properly create a character kit or balance their own element system. The bloom CEO is so restrictive on her team comps and she still is better of doing vape damage :P rather funny.
I did the latest abyss floor 12 with cyno and failed last floor; just couldn't get that 3 star . . . But then i switch to raiden and it was just 10x easier . . . Funny thing is my cyno is way more built compared to my raiden, shes still kinda scuffed up with her artifacts
The abyss buff favors Nilou so much at the moment that this test should be done again the next rotation. Bloom team gets 32% enemy resistance shred just by using bloom and that is basically a free Viridescent Venerer for bloom which is def a huge boost that the other teams don't have.
@@LuisBrito-ly1ko Yes, the Floor 12 does not grant buffs. My comment at the time was toward the Abyssal Moon Blessing which granted up to 32% resistance shred when triggering bloom reaction so the entire party was doing more damage not just the bloom
this worst Cyno showcase have seen fell like he doing it only for show him bad way look too his team all know mc way batter for him and hydro and kazuga
Throwing yelan with nilou seems cheap. And the abyss showcase with cyno, 75% of your time is spent wasting it with kazuha. Even if the enemies are spread out, cyno can clear them easily and with the length of his burst jts plenty of time to move and mow. Would have taken half as long without kazuha.
i prefer yelan do a showcase, always in her own team/category as she is the strongest unit now. but her helping other characters to clear a challenge isnt fair unless she is only using her burst animation or for hydro resonance. great video, im glad u always add yelan in the end thanks. keep it up!
He already did a Yelan showcase. The problem with having Yelan in his Abyss speedrun (yes, speedrun and not showdown) is if Yelan is in the team he utilizes everything in her disposal before switching (5x BTB NA + 2* E) which in most scenario clears an entire floor. The probable reason for having Yelan with his Nilou team is for Hydro resonance and having another source of DPS, which in every case, having too much DPS.
@@alport1331 yes, but imo i think using xingq would have been preferable even if you want that extra dps. At the end of the day im happy with any sort of showdown/speedrun he tries out since we do get some info from his perspective too.
Id like to add that his yelan speedrun was a bit slower than raiden which shows that even if she has massive frontload dmg she can still be defeated in long runs/higher hp bosses. But as far as genshin devs confirmed there wont be harder content so yeah whale yelan takes the throne. For mid spenders or f2p raiden takes it. For asians hutao(1 shots in 2 secs mostly)
@@blackdust951 IMO, Yelan is better because at C6R5 since she packs considerable DMG. Xingqui is more utility oriented rather than DPS compared with Yelan. With XQ's Hydro shred, it instantly increase Nilou's DMG output while Yelan on the other hand offers gradual DMG% with her burst that deals significantly more DMG than XQ's if used in its full duration. Unless Nilou's personal DMG on its full rotation is ginormous enough to the point that it dwarves Yelan's DMG output then I find it hard to recommend XQ in this scenario. And about Yelan speedrun, of course it'll be slower since it can't compete to a team that's complimenting well with Raiden to make her deal the most DMG and give her a favorable scenario. I think Yelan might got a chance if they make a team for Yelan together with Xingqiu/Kazuha/Raiden (Raiden's E buffs the burst). Even this comp doesn't have a healer, it's hard to believe that Yelan will die since she's tanky herself along with XQ's minus DMG received. And I too believe that on whale levels, Yelan takes the number one spot when it comes to sustained DPS. But since Raiden, on a right setup, can take on a boss in a single burst duration then it'll boil down on how tough the boss will be.

It feels weird to see your Nilou do 52K initial burst, when mine can do 78k. Yes it was a vaporise but..no character was supporting her and she was C0.
One thing I noticed is that you didn't actually utilise Gotou buff for itto at 8:25 Itto need a little while to get the buff, if you go straight into his burst, he won't get it.
Tbh burst animations really affects the time when calculating these. Raiden's animation is a bit shorter and cyno has a bit slower animation and tbh i might be wrong but im open to know if i am.

As an itto main, happy that my boy is still doing good damage until now 😗 the only sad thing is after inazuma(I use trio geo and one other element for exploration lmao) can't use him as much because I need dendro reactions 😭😭😭 geo reacting with elements other than crystallize when hyv 😭😭😭
Everyone is mentioning just Yelan but have conveniently forgotten that Kazuha did literally half the work for Cyno's runs. If you pay attention to the enemy HP bar in his abyss run, you can see that by the time Cyno even switches in, the enemies are almost dead. The only time Nilou even used Yelan was against the dorito boss. She is really powerful on her own in every other run here.
Both are true. Yelan did too much to the ruin boss, while Kazuha did too much for those other Cyno runs. I'd say Nilou did more to the boss than Cyno did to those mobs, comparatively, but Yelan still did too much to decrease her time. Nilou isn't really a single target focused character anyway, so it's not far fetched that she'd lose to Cyno on bosses without someone like Yelan on the team. Xingqiu is always a better character to use for these kinds of showcases since he doesn't provide nearly as much damage to take focus off of the actual character being showcased. Yelan at this level of investment literally solos abyss floors. 530k on one E and 100k in a single attack to finish off the boss....did any other support character on the other teams do that level of "support"? Literally just stick her on the other teams and their time is also shaved quite a few seconds
I think dendro archon and cyno will have a unique interaction. Like you mentioned at the close of your video I see him becoming much stronger when she arrives.
Nilou can be one of the best character if they didn't limit her potential.. and I love how yelan always get the spotlight every time she's in the team.. LMAO 🤣
@@ballistic_1607 Yeah, and when she is bloom she doesn't benefit that much from her being C6, so she is more affordable at C0 for F2P, while still clearing Abyss pretty fast and actually carrying the entire team (Collei, Barbara and Traveler do VERY little damage without Nilou's blooms). Meanwhile Cyno C6 got carried hard by Kazuha, Kazuha doing 80% of damage on enemies and grouping them so Cyno can actually land the final one hit
nilous is very f2p friendly, imagine all of them at c0 and nilou is even using trash team atm with just hp stacking you dont have to bother with crit ratios, easy to build up dmg by blooms alone, she seems restricted but not really restricted as we can see in this video, and of course as we get more dendro and hydro unit we will see her potential further, if at this point her dmg contribution in general is satisfying good (and wasnt expected to be), i have both nilou and cyno, and i feel cyno is much more restrictive the way you use him, he is bound to hypercarry within duration of his burst, you cant use him in quick swap when burst is active (if you cancel his burst you lose lot of dmg in the process and hard to funnel energy back to him), you are also bound to have shield for his squishy defense and easily getting interrupted when taking hits, you need a dendro applicator that last long enough (if its the dendro traveler, you have to stay within its aoe)
liked the video. yelan+nilou, that isn't nilou's time in my opinion. maybe she woulda taken 2 minutes to clear it, but that's nilou's reality in that case. that particular fight was the same as the "diluc" showcase
@@lanceclementi1963 yea i getchu. but nilou's steam ran off after that. raiden gets triple buffed and runs wild. nilou couldn't(in that specific case with that specific team) kill the thing(in decent time i assume) without c6 yelan going crazy
Every day I hate Mihoyo more and more for how bad they made Cyno. A character that was in the Genshin manga, in the Travail trailer, people waited for 2 YEARS for....and y'all make this bad?? And Cyno mains on Reddit just don't want to open their eyes and complain. Man needs a buff. No Dendro support is gonna make save him. Keqing will always be better, Itto/Ayato and Xiao will always be better hypercarries. What's the point of his kit even??

Tbf, using Mona here is probably better and more accessible than using Yelan. She has her own nuke and Nilou does more damage too. Before we trash on Nilou for some unknown reason (as many do with Kokomi), she did most of the damage there.

So without Yelan, Nilou was able to kill the 12-3-2 boss with just an additional 6 seconds, honestly that's pretty good and I appreciate him including that run and classified the Nilou+Yelan run as a bonus run.
She needs 6s more of damage, yes. That's different than completing it in another 6s, because this boss goes invisible and needs to be revealed with a catalyze reaction (or by destroying one of the options it spawns). In practice, the Nilou team probably would have needed ~15-20s more because of the boss mechanic.

Itto really is such a consistent DPS. He can basically fight any enemy, and is good is every situation be it single target or AOE. This just proves why he is still my favorite charcter to play in the whole game.

Yep. Fully agree. Got frustrated from being one shot with level 60 Collei and Nilou being one-shot in Abyss 12, so I just pulled out Itto and breezed though.

C6 Nilou is crazy fun, but I noticed you didn't always utilize her C4. You should have used her melee stance skill FIRST to buff her Burst by 50% for 8s. It actually does a lot more damage and could have shortened her times significantly
By the time it takes to complete I guess bursting first makes it better.
@@Grim_Bud you can span the skill if you use her normals, so it doesn't take that long. Plus a 50% damage boost, especially with C6 is definitely more beneficial

I’m starting to think you should use Xingqiu only instead of Yelan for DPS showcases/videos where the purpose is to highlight another character specifically. Due to the sheer nature of a C6 Yelan’s kit, she becomes the highlighted DPS no matter what. The only thing support-wise she provides that Xingqiu doesn’t is a dmg buff with her Q, but even Xingqiu can still make up for it in a way with his C2
Still really surprised by how nilou performs in all of these showdown. While she's really not for everyone, I can say that she is way better than what the majority makes her out to be.
Except, in the boss showcases, she's utilizing vaporize, and simply replacing her with Mona or even Childe will yield better times. And in the abyss, her clear times are average at best. Don't forget that the current abyss modifier heavily favors teams with dendro reactions, so Cyno and Nilou damage numbers are already being inflated.

@@richlee6331 She is a hydro character & can therefore utilize any reaction to go with her element. It so happens that in "single target" situations, vaporize functions better because of the huge frontloaded reactions.
That being said, by your logic, Cyno is just another electro character & replacing him with probably Keqing would yield better times.
The point here isn't that she isn't the best at vape, he's just maximizing their dmg for speed runs. I think their solo & abyss runs are the only thing we should actually consider cos everything else is usually using a support to help them output huge screenshot damage.
Anyone who says she’s bad or weak is an idiot. She’s strong with shit units that do zero personal damage. Her buff to bloom in AOE is very high. People just hate that the most fun part of her kit, bountiful cores, is locked behind a team restriction. These showcases are also very poor at showing how strong the units are. It’s a speed running whale showcase.
She turned out better than I thought in her niche but too restrictive to me for now, while her other options ask for a lot of investment to works.
I might pull for her rerrun if we get more fitting units for her in the meantime.

@@HSRFirefly Yes and no. Yelan can solo these rooms at his level of investment which is basically maxed out. It's just not fair to other characters to put Yelan in one team because all you need to do is slot her in the other character's team and their times would decrease, regardless of team synergy. Even Itto's time would decrease because his Yelan is just that insane. Xingqiu would have been a better choice because his damage isn't nearly as insane as C6R5 Yelan even if you put R5 Mistsplitter on him.
it's honrstly unfair to use yelan or kazuha in these runs since they would deal atleast1/3 of the damage in cyno and itto's run you could argue that kazuha did the heavy lifting (especially cyno's run)

Take here for example, nilou is a character who's kit screams to use her in a bloom team.
He didn't even touch her potential.
3- every character have their own part where they shine most.
Eg, nilou is a character who shines most in an AOE scenario and cyno with mostly single targets but he decided to compare both the character against a single type of enemy.
My point is this whole video just worthless since he is comparing 2 character who have their value change drastically in accordance with increasing enemy.

Yeah, Zhongli would be better. The Itto team really wasn't optimal.. AT ALL. Only 2 geo characters? No snapshot? Bennett...? Itto, Gorou, Zhongli, Flex/Albedo is a much better team comp than Bennett + Kazuha.
Thank you for including the Nilou Yelan run, it’s so fun to see how much Yelan can do, and vape Nilou is such a cool speedrunning concept. Please keep including these creative speedruns as that’s what I’m here for.
this would've been much better with someone like Ayato, Xiao or Yae instead or Raiden. Everyone knows she'll clear fastest so it's redundant to put her here. I would have been more interested to see how the other "mid" dps units fare against Cyno and Nilou. Even a Nilou vs Childe aoe comparision would have been more interesting.
My thoughts are if you use Yelan (or any other character that uses their own damage to shave off a significant amount of HP) that run should be done once with that character and once with a more traditional comp.

I feel like while displaying 4 screens at the same time can be chaotic, I think its better in the long term because people can always replay the video if they ever miss anything. And you get the benefits of seeing the comparisons togehter at the same time.

Nilo with great artifacts and C6R5 is broken, but in the 12 3 2 run the dmg of Yelan is so insane, so if you throw yelan away, nilou's time is probably as long as Itto's
They should design an Endless Abyss wave stage (like one of that event) to see which team can kill the most with highest score in a fixed time limit, that way it won't be skewed to see which has highest up-front damage, rather a true measure of Damage per Second, sustained DPS over 3mins etc.

Itto is still the most fun among them lmao. Anyways, is it really better to use Bennett than use another geo to trigger Gorou's "crunch" state? I'd personally rather use Albedo. Also, it's kinda common knowledge for Itto mains to not use alt key switch into burst.
Fun in Genshin is completely subjective. For instance I find Raiden and Nilou to be funner than Itto. It’s personal preference
He's my favourite character to play alongside Childe. As for using Bennett I'm not sure. Personally I never use Benny with Itto as most of the time I'm using Childe International in Abyss, plus I just prefer using Albedo
Bennett is there to straight up buff Itto's damage. If it's to trigger Crunch then I'd rather take Zhongli for shield and all RES shred although Albedo can provide an alternative playstyle that's not only about Itto whacking up dudes.

On one side, Yelan + Nilou was kinda cheating, but you mentioned the whole Nilou + Yelan. On the other side, the full abyss run with Barbara was pretty fun to watch, this was much better than the Diluc run.

IWNTL should never use C6 Yelan on these showcases. Just use xingqui. If you used yelan to make a character's time shorter, well you might as well use her on the others. I always felt disappointed every time yelan was there because it always became her showcase real fast

@@shachede6828 Zhongli won't give faster clears here. Without Bennett, Kazuha wouldn't be able to wipe off enemies as fast resulting in slower runs. Also Zhongli skill animation is quite long.

Yelan is also consistent and yet clears blazing fast. Ayaka is another one since "Shenhe" has arrived. her NA/CA deals 50k+++ each hit and CA could go up to 200k each hit(C6) + that powerful burst damage.
I think you should have mentioned that Nilou's Hydro damage is locked behind her constellations, in particular her C6. That being said, her Bountiful Cores have a similar potential at CO and with about a 30% buff from her signature weapon.
I dont think so because if you give her normal crit build she pretty much the same as other hydro dps in vape team but since bloom cant crit its not recomended. C6 is for her max potential to go full hp build
It's not locked behind constellations, because her dps isn't horrible with a hydro crit build. It's just not as good as her bloom build because she's made for it. It's like how Ganyu can work with reverse melt fairly well, but really her best teams are freeze.

@@mik0zlove358 I think Sapwood is better of the 2 bc you don't use her on-field hydro application much. It's better for the bloom team to stack her HP as high as possible (max 75k HP but if you have her signature weapon, you can go higher for her EM buff.), which means you might not get as much EM as build full EM on another hydro character. Any stats other than HP aren't that important if you play her off-field, so Sapwood is better bc it can give EM buff to the one who proc bloom.
In current F2P bloom team of Nilou, DMC, Collei and Barbara. Barbara is mostly the one who proc bloom, so you stack EM on her.

The rarity doesn't really matter when most of the boosting teammates are 4 star characters.
For artifact, I would agree, she doesn't have her own set yet. But knowing how intense her scaling can be at 74K HP (max), they will not focus on that. She will be providing more damage to her E stance and team utility.
Yelan shouldn't be doing damage other wise it's not X character being showcased, it's just Yelan destroying everything. i mean any character can be top tier dps if Yelan walks on the field for 2 seconds and deletes everything. not much point to a showcase of other characters if Yelan is doing all the heavy lifting.
It would be fun to see an Ayaka/Shenhe vs Raiden showdown. I feel like that Cryo combo is one of the only (C6) combos than can compete with Raiden's hilarious burst damage.

even with Cyno's proper support, it won't beat Raiden's clear time. Nilou on the otherhand is F2P friendly as shown in one of the clips here pairing with Barbara MC(dendro) and Collei. removing collei and adding Nahida would make the team even stronger. Cyno is that underwhelming against these characters.

I did the latest abyss floor 12 with cyno and failed last floor; just couldn't get that 3 star . . . But then i switch to raiden and it was just 10x easier . . . Funny thing is my cyno is way more built compared to my raiden, shes still kinda scuffed up with her artifacts

The abyss buff favors Nilou so much at the moment that this test should be done again the next rotation. Bloom team gets 32% enemy resistance shred just by using bloom and that is basically a free Viridescent Venerer for bloom which is def a huge boost that the other teams don't have.
Floor 12 doesn’t grant buffs.
@@LuisBrito-ly1ko Yes, the Floor 12 does not grant buffs. My comment at the time was toward the Abyssal Moon Blessing which granted up to 32% resistance shred when triggering bloom reaction so the entire party was doing more damage not just the bloom

Throwing yelan with nilou seems cheap. And the abyss showcase with cyno, 75% of your time is spent wasting it with kazuha. Even if the enemies are spread out, cyno can clear them easily and with the length of his burst jts plenty of time to move and mow. Would have taken half as long without kazuha.

i prefer yelan do a showcase, always in her own team/category as she is the strongest unit now. but her helping other characters to clear a challenge isnt fair unless she is only using her burst animation or for hydro resonance. great video, im glad u always add yelan in the end thanks. keep it up!
He already did a Yelan showcase. The problem with having Yelan in his Abyss speedrun (yes, speedrun and not showdown) is if Yelan is in the team he utilizes everything in her disposal before switching (5x BTB NA + 2* E) which in most scenario clears an entire floor. The probable reason for having Yelan with his Nilou team is for Hydro resonance and having another source of DPS, which in every case, having too much DPS.
@@alport1331 yes, but imo i think using xingq would have been preferable even if you want that extra dps. At the end of the day im happy with any sort of showdown/speedrun he tries out since we do get some info from his perspective too.
Id like to add that his yelan speedrun was a bit slower than raiden which shows that even if she has massive frontload dmg she can still be defeated in long runs/higher hp bosses. But as far as genshin devs confirmed there wont be harder content so yeah whale yelan takes the throne. For mid spenders or f2p raiden takes it. For asians hutao(1 shots in 2 secs mostly)
I'm suprised he didn't use elegy and NO on Yelan since she can provide even more support other then hydro resonance and C4 HP Buff
@@blackdust951 IMO, Yelan is better because at C6R5 since she packs considerable DMG. Xingqui is more utility oriented rather than DPS compared with Yelan. With XQ's Hydro shred, it instantly increase Nilou's DMG output while Yelan on the other hand offers gradual DMG% with her burst that deals significantly more DMG than XQ's if used in its full duration. Unless Nilou's personal DMG on its full rotation is ginormous enough to the point that it dwarves Yelan's DMG output then I find it hard to recommend XQ in this scenario.
And about Yelan speedrun, of course it'll be slower since it can't compete to a team that's complimenting well with Raiden to make her deal the most DMG and give her a favorable scenario. I think Yelan might got a chance if they make a team for Yelan together with Xingqiu/Kazuha/Raiden (Raiden's E buffs the burst). Even this comp doesn't have a healer, it's hard to believe that Yelan will die since she's tanky herself along with XQ's minus DMG received. And I too believe that on whale levels, Yelan takes the number one spot when it comes to sustained DPS. But since Raiden, on a right setup, can take on a boss in a single burst duration then it'll boil down on how tough the boss will be.

It feels weird to see your Nilou do 52K initial burst, when mine can do 78k. Yes it was a vaporise but..no character was supporting her and she was C0.
As you already said, Nilou did the majority of the damage in the dorito showcase, Yelan was just playing clean-up for the last little bit.

One thing I noticed is that you didn't actually utilise Gotou buff for itto at 8:25
Itto need a little while to get the buff, if you go straight into his burst, he won't get it.
Tbh burst animations really affects the time when calculating these. Raiden's animation is a bit shorter and cyno has a bit slower animation and tbh i might be wrong but im open to know if i am.

The key to cyno is actually hyperbloom, so i suggest you bring a hydro unit (xingqiu recommended) onto his team to elevate his damage potential

Everyone is mentioning just Yelan but have conveniently forgotten that Kazuha did literally half the work for Cyno's runs. If you pay attention to the enemy HP bar in his abyss run, you can see that by the time Cyno even switches in, the enemies are almost dead.
The only time Nilou even used Yelan was against the dorito boss. She is really powerful on her own in every other run here.
Both are true. Yelan did too much to the ruin boss, while Kazuha did too much for those other Cyno runs. I'd say Nilou did more to the boss than Cyno did to those mobs, comparatively, but Yelan still did too much to decrease her time. Nilou isn't really a single target focused character anyway, so it's not far fetched that she'd lose to Cyno on bosses without someone like Yelan on the team. Xingqiu is always a better character to use for these kinds of showcases since he doesn't provide nearly as much damage to take focus off of the actual character being showcased. Yelan at this level of investment literally solos abyss floors. 530k on one E and 100k in a single attack to finish off the boss....did any other support character on the other teams do that level of "support"? Literally just stick her on the other teams and their time is also shaved quite a few seconds
I think dendro archon and cyno will have a unique interaction. Like you mentioned at the close of your video I see him becoming much stronger when she arrives.

@@ballistic_1607 Yeah, and when she is bloom she doesn't benefit that much from her being C6, so she is more affordable at C0 for F2P, while still clearing Abyss pretty fast and actually carrying the entire team (Collei, Barbara and Traveler do VERY little damage without Nilou's blooms).
Meanwhile Cyno C6 got carried hard by Kazuha, Kazuha doing 80% of damage on enemies and grouping them so Cyno can actually land the final one hit
nilous is very f2p friendly, imagine all of them at c0 and nilou is even using trash team atm with just hp stacking you dont have to bother with crit ratios, easy to build up dmg by blooms alone, she seems restricted but not really restricted as we can see in this video, and of course as we get more dendro and hydro unit we will see her potential further, if at this point her dmg contribution in general is satisfying good (and wasnt expected to be), i have both nilou and cyno, and i feel cyno is much more restrictive the way you use him, he is bound to hypercarry within duration of his burst, you cant use him in quick swap when burst is active (if you cancel his burst you lose lot of dmg in the process and hard to funnel energy back to him), you are also bound to have shield for his squishy defense and easily getting interrupted when taking hits, you need a dendro applicator that last long enough (if its the dendro traveler, you have to stay within its aoe)

liked the video. yelan+nilou, that isn't nilou's time in my opinion. maybe she woulda taken 2 minutes to clear it, but that's nilou's reality in that case. that particular fight was the same as the "diluc" showcase

Every day I hate Mihoyo more and more for how bad they made Cyno. A character that was in the Genshin manga, in the Travail trailer, people waited for 2 YEARS for....and y'all make this bad?? And Cyno mains on Reddit just don't want to open their eyes and complain. Man needs a buff. No Dendro support is gonna make save him. Keqing will always be better, Itto/Ayato and Xiao will always be better hypercarries. What's the point of his kit even??

@@redace4821 Nah I know how to have fun. I still like to play him in the overworld. But in the Abyss however.....the balancing in this game is pretty bad. Either units are too broken, or too weak. We need more Ittos, Yoimiyas and Ayatos. Balanced units who are strong but not too strong
