He truly embodies the essence of his song now. When he first performed it in the original video, he seemed like someone fresh out of a breakup, filled with raw emotion. Now, he appears more composed and mature, delivering the song the way it was meant to be experienced. You can even see how his face lights up with newfound confidence. Fame was never his goal-he’s passionate about the music itself, not the spotlight. There are only a few artists like him, ones who are purely about the art.
Holy moley, I came for Gotye but left a Monty Cotton fan! As soon as he starting singing I was floored! What a talent! Fantastic show all around, every second was brilliant. And they all seem like such good people, just sharing their genuine and sincere love of music.
@@The3Basics it’s a really fantastic ensemble, you guys play with a lot of heart so I’m certain it’ll be outstanding. I’m just discovering your back catalog now!
He saved the best for last. He almost didn't give it to the audience. It felt special that he allowed everyone to listen to him sing it after so long. Like a little extra treat.
This guy, he's a genius. Dude has several great songs (all CRIMINALY underrated btw) and is about to make a 4th album, trying to make his own way back...and people still ONLY TALK ABOUT SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

hearts a mess is the best song ever created... so glad to hear wally has got some knew stuff on the way. meanwhile anyone know some kinda similar music
Its not exactly like Gotye but something that reminds me of him is an artist named Adam Tell. He's super underrated but his music and vocals are just absolute top tier
Wally has so much good music under his repertoire, he didn't want to have massive fame though which is why he vanished from the industry. But he's never stopped making music, his stuff is such a hidden gem of the music world.
The only problem with this video is there's not more of it. I would love to see the full video. Wally De Backer has an infectious smile and what an amazing blend of talent here. The host has such a great personality too.
Everybody. Take a moment to appreciate the songs and vocals. Appreciate all three of these talented men. Yes, Gotye is quite wonderful, but don’t bombard the comment sections with complaints. Anyone who is a real fan would’ve kept up with him, as well as his fine work with Tim and Kris.
@The3Basics I'm so impressed, you all were terrific! Will scope out your music and Monty Cotton's in the morning. I'm in the US or I'd be at any shows you might perform. Thanks so much for making me smile!
Love this session of just sitting around, surrounded about good energy, these guys are such good musicians, you're all making it fun for us to watch and listen to and it's nice to see another musical side to you and Basics and this Monte Cotton is just wonderful, these are often the best times to sit around and jam acoustically in front of an intimate audience, wonderful! Just discovered this type of music! All I can say is WOW! Very very talented!!! Would love to hear more!! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Gotye and the rest of the guys are amazing talented individuals!!!!

Wow 😮 this performance I am sorry to say it but it’s bloody amazing there you go. I said it.. Goyte aka Wally 🥰 I’m happy to see you’re enjoying music still after watching a few previous interviews. I was worried you’re gonna give up. It’s so good to see you. I just wish I could see you in real life.
To "The Basics": The world deserves to know them. I did my part and introduced you to my teenage children. ☺️ To Wally: What an amazing artist you are! Her voice is sweet and impactful at the same time. His compositions touch the soul. ❤️
"Somebody That I Used To Know" such a masterpiece
I love it too!
The kimbra part make me smile
too bad that's the only song people know about Gotye while, essentially, the guy's a fucking Mozart of our times

Hi, I am writing an article about Gotye and what fans think about his modern pursuits. Would you mind if I interviewed you for it?
