I like how he changed lyric to fly instead he could alter words in ways with his pronunciation
It's like he's not even breathing. His gliding across scales with his voice is incredible.
This is one of those songs where you can hear it a million times and never get tired of it. There is just too much good shit in it.
Georgie Thumbs, "There is just too much good shit in it.". I agree. It is full of fiber.
Georgie Thumbs so true. For the last three days I’ve been repeatedly listening and singing it.
Actually perfect haha "too much good shit in it". one hundred percent
His music makes us feel things we've never felt and all at the same time, I just can't explain, it's above us, it's ethereal, as Page once said.
This is an absolutely flawless performance.
I agree.
Jeff Buckley passed away too soon. He was THE new rock genius with a brand new sound... He's just amazing...
How the heck does one have such perfect control of their vocal instrument!?! A sublime performance that has me mesmerized!
He has better False Chord vocals than any other musician I've heard. Their so rough, yet not like a scream. Then he's melodic vocals. The guitar the... Okay I'll stop.
+Prophetic Rain-Maker "Their" = possessive. I think that you mean they're = They are. It is never too late to learn...
+BluzKat Keef You're correct there. I must have been tired!
Even if you don’t like him…..you can’t deny the talent that he had.
@christophersawyer253 Unless you’re Noel Gallagher.
im so jealous of the people who were there, and so sad for not having the chance to see his performances :/
I love how prominent the bass is on this. Sounds huge!
Wow. The incredible thing is I listened, and after about 3 minutes of silence, my eyes just start tearing up. Jeff constantly outdoes himself in my point of view. I thought I had seen it all from him, and then I come across this. He blows my mind. He blows me away. Jeff is my Elvis.
Why would anyone listen to anything else? Watching on youtube is one thing, but imagining you are there in front of that voice, it just kills me. It kills me!
I know...being in front of that voice and that face!
I can’t listen to Jeff Buckley without getting chills.
Live performances of this song gives me chills every time. This version especially does because of how he changes that ending note. It's amazing.
Same here, its the end especially that makes it an out of this world performance.
I love the ending note!
As the host says at the end, this was definitely how the angels sang in 1995.
He was right about that!
I cry almost everytime I watch him perform this song live. It tears right throuh the soul
My whole body with chills right now
@Lior Porat Diarrhea? ;-)
the end of this song drives the stake deep
In memoriam
there was just something about that boy....
+marna saraceno A man... in every sense. Yet I have heard many women refer to Jeff as a boy.
only a southern expression.meaning he was quite special.
You're mistaken .. it's more than 'just something "
Laura he was “just everything”
Man, I want to make a comment, but, there's just no words to describe this. Guess i should just say that this shows for real that only the good die young
The best performance that i heard of this song wasn't filmed. It was a concert for a Radio, at Sony Studios i think. I can't count how many nights i spent listing to Jeff's performances and thinking that i'll never see that huge talent in another human being.
I wish I was there sitting in front of them just enjoying their wonderful creation.
Only needs one word, from a fellow songwriter....stunning.
dat bass
THE MASTER AND DEFINITIVE VERSION. Leaves me breathless. Many thanks for sharing.
Honest and from the heart
""c'est comme ca que les anges chantent en 1995"" " Angel are singing like this in 1995"" Said the TV Showman Antoine de caunes ... 2021 and still my favorite singer/angel ... TThanks for sharing
have this own with the presentation, first time I see it complete here. Thanks for everybody !
Cannot stop listening to this song. I am obsessed ...
S. An applause at the end of this doesn't seem enough. I'm not sure why I haven't commented on this before though considering the amount of times I've watched it lol
No dislikes 👌 how it should always be, when Buckley sings.
mark ferlisi x
It just makes me so sad that almost nobody these days knows the name
Yo let's find that idiot who disliked it
@@dh1380 I’m 15 and I know him :)he’s starting to get more recognition now
I keep coming back to this performance. Again and again and again.
Seriously, i cry. I feel Jeff performed this live by soul.
Que de bons souvenirs... J ai cru mourir lorsque je l ai vu à NPA... Un talent inégalable. 😢
Damn. He leaves me totally speechless. ❤️🔥💔😔
As real and as much a true piece of live art that anyone might ever witness on T.V. Unsurprising that Paris would squeeze another great performance out of Jeff.
Completely awesome.
Quelle performance vocale et musicale de dingue !!!
Jeff Buckley avait un talent exceptionnel !!
R.I.P.
I was born this day ! wow what a beautiful performance!!! Rip to a legend
The man, the myth, the leg end.
I was front of my tv this day.... My first K.O ever.
Me too...And i saw him in Toulouse a few months later(as the announcer says....),amazing,unforgettable performance.....
Pareil.
691 thumbs up, 0 down. Yep. The man was a talent.
The co-host in the red jacket was clearly floored following the performance.
so 100% agree. this is what it means to "catch fire" in the musical realm.
I can't get his song out of my head! I've listened to it like 300 times this week, and it's Tuesday...
@veronihika Check out the first link in the pinned comment. I recently uploaded a much higher quality version of this performance, taken from the master tape.
What an outstanding human being he was! This video is unrivalled in its vast display of Jeffs talents. Fantastic!
God I really wanted them rise. The drummer stepped out of his comfort zone in this performance compared to others and so did Jeff.
I would have been standing and applauding right after the last note. What a performance.
I absolutely adore the base playing in this performance ♡ I'm melting into heaven. love you Jeff and thank you Gary Lucas for writing the guitar on this song favorite singing and guitar ever.
Amazing
Dont know what i wouldn't give to have been there!! One of my all time favourite Live Performances by anybody!! he really gave it his all there.....
MojoPin 1983 thanks for uploading!!!
Why did he die?????? He was one of the best singers of the world!!!!! (or the best!)
Sublime
Thanks for sharing another absolute gem. What a blistering, flawless performance.
@Marcos Cerquiera You’re welcome. Check the video description and or pinned comment for a higher quality version of this performance.
Most amazing performance 🙌🏻
Awesome!!!!!!! Thanks so much for uploading this!
Everytime I hear him I just think wow.
A unimaginable instance of a huge performer.
Amazing and forever treasured!!!!
Your channel is my holy Mecca.
Stunning as always!!!!♥️
Angels let us a beautiful masterpiece.
Mick nailing it as always on the bass
Best version
Best live version?
Yes. This and the BBC Late Show version.
@@MojoPin1983 I still prefer the late show version S
I was in front of the tv this day. Him, Radiohead, Deftones were amazing.
This one has always been my favourite.
Masterpiece. Once in a while, it is good for the soul to listen to Buckley, to set the things back where they ought to be...
Fuck, so much emotions
Great Great Great!!!
Lord...Have...Mercy...!!!
Yeah, Jeff Buckley's death was definitely a tremendous and terrible loss for Music. That guy had so much talent...
RIP
Masterpice 🥹
5-18 wow!
Does anybody know what the host says when the song is finished? It doesn't get much better than this live
I am not sure of the entirety of his concluding speech, but he does say, "this is how angels sing in 1995." I think he was saying that to the man with the glasses, who is a French clergyman, I believe.
Love you Jeff 💜🙏🕊️🌟
Maravilhoso 😍♥️
Right there,,,,, and exact duplication of his Dads voice, His Dad's deep vocal passion. Like Father, like Son hey!
He hated being compared to the dad he never knew.
Although his Dad wasnt around in his formative years, he did once meet Tim. In an interview he said " I dont hate my Father, I respect him very much"
Now apart from that, there is no denying he sounds like Tim. His voice, his breadth of scale and even the songs he wrote including his style.
Somewhere I read that his mother had actually given Jeff a whole bunch of manuscripts that Tim had left behind and many of these were on the Grace album, including 'So Real'.
After Jeffs Death dear money hungry Mother also tried to sell those same manuscripts as well as allowing an album of previously unreleased Jeff music.
Yes, I am aware that Jeff met Tim when he was 8 and Tim died two months later. I am also aware that Jeff respected a lot of Tim’s material.
Musically, they sound nothing alike, however, they shared some similar dynamics in their voices, especially the penchant to do high pitched, elongated wails. Jeff’s voice was more versatile, though, in my opinion.
Jeff did not have manuscripts handed down to him. So Real (the verse) was written by his guitarist, Michael Tighe.
Perhaps, Tighe had built on the original scripts.
IMO Their voices are more identical than not.
Greetings from LA would be Tims landmark album and I know it passionately. As soon as I heard Grace I heard the remarkable similarities and was intrigued to hear the rest of the grace Album, which I thoroughly enjoyed and was buzzed with the uncanny likeness to Tim, in style (Greetings from LA) and voice.
Albeit Jeffs recordings have better production and fidelity.
Regardless, they both gave us beautiful music and will always be remembered.
Wow!
What note is this at 3:45? its so beautiful
Not sure, but it is gorgeous.
corkscrew.
@Seriously? f sharp going to the g
I'm referring to the copyright. Columbia Records owns the copyright to Jeff Buckley's music. It's proper procedure to give credit to the owner(s) of a particular piece art.
my b-day! so much fucking feels
it is antoine de caunes :) and you're right
Actually, the lyric is, "Wait in the fire."
You're right for Antoine De Caunes...
It was on the french TV Channel Canal + in one of their most famous show called "Nul Part Ailleurs" (a.k.a. NPA) (You can translate by "Nowhere elsewhere" but also by "nobody keaves somewhere else")
And the less we can say it was'nt a "conservative family program" !
Did you ever see on any channel, at 8 p.m a flatulist playing some parts with his asshole ?
No ? You could see this in NPA !
(a conservative family program ! you killed me..of laughing !) ;)
Fucking legendary performance!
MojoPin1983 During the video, this Grace MTV, New York 1/15/95 is a very nice recording. Cloud't be uploaded to youtube?
@Irén Jenei I can’t the MTV video on UA-cam because Sony owns the copyright. You can see it in on my Vimeo channel.
The date is actually 1/10/95. It originally aired on MTV on 15 January 1995.
@@MojoPin1983 Ok. Thanks.
Same here. Try listening to Buckethead - especially his album, *Colma.* It is probably the closest thing to Grace, in terms of beauty and emotion.
Oh...sounds like a really wholesome, family program. The French are so conservative.
Jeff's Holy Day upcoming... taking in his lyrics, drinking from his cup
Super chops, super lyrics, super guitar playing and where I'm from unless it was on heavy rotation in MTV it was shit. I hung out with a bunch on idiot's.
Holy fuck
what do you mean when you say you dont own the rights to this? what are rights and how do they work. ive seen other you tube clips where people say the same thing.
What do you mean that's not the name of the song? The song is called Grace. What do you think it's called?
True but everyone is gonna die someday just thank God that he allowed us to share Jeff Buckley's Beautiful music with us' God loved Him so God wanted Him to Himself
@gostosao1971 No problem.
Why listen to Nirvana when you can have this?
Who says he was referring to the song title? It sounds like he was making a joke about being engulfed in fire; though that would probably be quite soothing.
