@@jackawaki Thanks Rc brother, I appreciate you always watching and commenting. I just haven't had time and the weather has been awful for me to go out and get some nice scale trail filming done. We've went from draught to minor flooding lol!
You definitely have that ascent setup really good. I’m still running stock links on mine but would like to find some high clearance links for it. Those big wasps, are they yellow and black? Couldn’t tell on the video but I’ve killed a couple in my garage that were like inch to inch and half long. Biggest wasp/hornet I’ve ever seen. Sounds like B52 flying by😮
@@NEO-RC Thanks Neo!! And yes they have a bright yellow butt. I think they are European hornets after researching them. You are right they sound like a humming bird flying lol! Scary as heck. I think a company called D-Links sells the HCL for the Ascent I used some Axial Wraith links I think the rear lowers fit without modifications. I best these higher so had to add some lock nuts to extend them out some to keep the 12.3 WB.
@@jackawaki it definitely will test one out, I got built it for us local guys to have a safe and close area to test performance after doing upgrades and tuning. We were told not to come back to the rock pit area where I had been filming because it's state property and such. Thanks again man for watching and dropping a comment I really do appreciate your time to do so.
@@staysmallrc oh yah for sure about anything you could make work. ShrinkRc even makes mounts to mount Rc4wd hardbodies to the Ascent. I just eluded to the love hate thing because some drama got created earlier when I was doing reviews on it. Lot's of hate did get generated around this platform on some select channels. Thanks for watching Stay Small
@RcDungeon yah man, always good advice. I'm gonna build a comp, right, but I want it to look right. I saw a rig, super low cg and the body was just the roof and hood, no doors or windows. I want the 55ish Ford cab 💪
@@staysmallrc I'm no super comp guy, but what I've learned over the years gathering information I'd highly recommend starting with a bare chassis and building it piece by piece. Even the cheaper LCG chassis like Amazon or AliExpress will work it's all in how you set it up. Literally anything can be modified for the most extent. The most important is your break over skid plate and approach and departure angles that a chassis can give you. A two low style trans is what I'd recommend something center mounted with an OD built into the the transmission instead of having to mess with OD or UD in the axles. Make sure whatever axles have a really good steering angle without binding. Vanquish F10s are probably some of the best but thats my opinion. We have actually been able to modify the redcat Gen8 and the Gen9 axles for very good steering angles to be honest but they are chunky and will hang up worse than most other brands. Plastic always slides better over rock as well. I'm not a huge fan of the pinched bodies but they will offer the best performance. Always keep weight as low as possible and as close to a 60/40 weight bias you can. Research and make sure to use the best setup that reduces torque twist as possible thats a huge downside of the Traxxas Trx4 platform. Light as possible is usually better than heavy and loads of brass if your weights down low as possible. Hope this information helps you out.
@RcDungeon probably won't enter many comps, gotta travel too far, but I want to learn and my rigs are trail biased. Some bodies can take it but rolling my Boom truck or Suburban is like dropping a puppy! Lol 😆
@staysmallrc lol! Yes sometimes I cry when I roll my scale hardbody rigs 😢 😆 honestly I'm not a comp guy. Truthfully I'm not even a huge lexan body fan, not that can't look great I just prefer the hardbodies for scale realistic aspect plus they kinda force you to slow down and enjoy it more, most big tire linked rigs especially portals just monster truck over everything trail wise. I just really stay onto the linked trucks because here most guys aren't really about the scale side and definitely not the super scale stuff. We have a few guys that still mess with the scale stuff and when I can we all try and get together and film and such. Honestly with the scale stuff I enjoy making the videos so much more for me thats a huge part of that side of the hobby.
You know I don’t think the fusion is real carbon fiber I have one and mine broke both rails right where the motor mount is . I mean all other carbon fiber I have used has been great never broke
@@jackawaki Oh wow!! It might not be real carbon then. I don't have any experience with the Fusion model. I was looking at getting one but decided one was enough lol! I've heard a few others saying they have broken a chassis now as well.
Ok📹👍👍video

Great video and course crawling, the Ascent making it look easy 👍

@@RcDungeon that’s bullshit it’s just a rock pit not like you was hurting anything
I've been really happy with the different redcats I have. I don't recall seeing any accents with a different body...will like a proline body cab fit?
