A lot has changed in Cranberry Twp, started working there in summer of 1999 at the Exxon gas station on the corner of freedom road and Rt 19 which is gone now and a bank is there now, so much has changed and built up in that area since then
I ate @ a Perkins once years ago. They were famous for there turkey which is what I ordered . The food was really good and the bakery in front had so many desserts which were so tempting.
That was a horrible place too work for. I worked for them for 7 years. Now some idiot construction worker bought them and hired his buddies. They're going under
Oh wow, I had no idea you worked for them. I cant say that I'm surprised that you say it was bad. I remember at the Peach Street location in Erie, the service was not very good. It was like no one cared. But that was the only location. Perhaps it was based on location and the general manager that made the work environment rough. Sorry you had a bad experience there.
Our Perkins in northeastern Ohio is still there because it has little competition. Our service isn’t very good, the have portions shrunk and the prices have gone up.
Ne Ohio I know I worked at a Perkins in Euclid Ohio things went downhill fast unfortunately it was a great fun place to work I miss it ...but I learned some good recipes shhhh🤐
There was one in meadville that when I was a courier for a nuclear pharmacy I would pass by. It looked the same way as the one in cranberry. It’s since been gutted and was looking like it was going to be something else. I left the job before I saw what it was going to become. But if you drive all night long for over a year and get into a car accident due to weather last February and it will get to you. That’s why I left, and then covid 19 changed the world
Seeing all these recent Perkins closures make me glad that the one down the street from me is still open. Just ate there about an hour ago actually. Had a delicious Eggs Benedict.
Grew up loving Perkins! I heard that the Buffalo Road location in Harborcreek (Erie, PA) will remain open. I hope that is true. You’ll like Perkins!” 🎼 This is a very nice building. Such a shame. Cool lighthouse pic. Hello to Kayla!
According to your news clip, it said the franchisee "used unapproved products in their restaurants." I sure it was not approve because it must be lessor quality products, that was less expensive, given the financial state of the franchisee. Just as you said Wallie, they where in trouble for a while and their parking lots and awning shows the lack of maintenance, for a while.
The one in Corry just closed I think in the last 3 weeks. The one in Edinboro had a fire like 2 years ago, started to remodel it and never reopened. Not sure but I heard the one in Meadville closed also.
Perkins have excellent pies as muffins. I spent a lot of time at a Perkins when I lived in North Iowa which I'd get a pot of coffee then at times a muffin or a piece of pie. I remember when I was a kid Perkins had a wishing well where a kid could pick something from the wishing well.
All the signs are covered now and the parking lot is closed with caution tape now. I ate there right after the bankruptcy and they were closed the next week.
Well I’m now seeing the all to famous sign myself at our only Kmart left in the area said to see a piece of my childhood going away rip Kmart #jaileddie
Great video as always. One quick question, Wallie. What video is that scene in your opener from where you, Richard and Kara were in an abandoned grocery store with all the cooler door glass blown out? Each time I see that I try to remember what video it's from. Again great video and thanks for filming these for us all. "Stay Awesome!"
That was my local Perkins! I used to go there all the time. I think they are renovating it now, but it’s bittersweet to see the location like this.

I am also a cranberry native being born there in 2000 and I’d say TOO much has changed. Now it’s just ridiculous.
I recently visited Gettysburg PA and we frequently ate at Perkins Restaurant in town! Good food and service!
3 years later still closed sadly
I ate @ a Perkins once years ago. They were famous for there turkey which is what I ordered . The food was really good and the bakery in front had so many desserts which were so tempting.
They had an awesome 😎 bakery 🧁
My friend Sammy worked here in the past.
Now they are pretty much franchises not corporate. Had 3 in our area in Minnesota but now one location. Great place to eat after bar rush.

Grove City was in a full remodel. Was about 85% done . Closed the same time as cranberry and the one in Sharon.

Hello to Kayla!
I’ve never been to Perkins for anything but breakfast.
Eating Perkins breakfast now as I am posting this.

The Perkins in my hometown closed after 22 years in business. The announcement of the closing made the residents furious

Come to Columbus, 161 going towards sawmill theres an abandoned ruby tuesday, karl road coming from shrock theres an abandoned long john silvers
Also the hours of operation reduction had also been the result of financial problems. I never seen a Perkins not being 24 hours.
All the signs are covered now and the parking lot is closed with caution tape now. I ate there right after the bankruptcy and they were closed the next week.
Theres one in clarion thats still open as of three weeks ago
Oh, and my Perkins is still open 24/7.

Do some of the things in Washington pa if you can!
I was wondering about that place since they had signage about hiring but they looked closed. Except their breakfast foods I think their food sucked.
So it’s a crown court job to sort out the financial problems?

That's sucky to lose Perkins. Hopefully that doesn't suggest things going bad with other locations.
They sell pies there? Are they a Marie Calendars or Coco's type of restaurant?
They were part of the same company..in the last few weeks another company bought the Perkins brand.
