I second that. I could watch these ARTISTES all day, go back and watch their movies from the 30d and 40s and die happy. There is NO TALENT like this anymore.
naw - day are startin to become rabid - i see the signs - fukin humans - tooo stooooo pid to get the vac and boost - may as well head on to a usda food process plant - and end up like a cow right before processinG !!!! [[[ end of my rant - no debate ]]]]
Sammy should never be forgotten. His impact, his many talents (many still not aware of the "depth"), his personal trials...it's quite a career...and a great story.
Emma Jones, I sure wish that would happen. Sammy & his crew were magical & this talent will never be seen again. Just like the legend, the late King of pop, Michael Jackson!!!
I remember watching this live, as a kid, & knowing it was great. It wasn't until much later that I realized just HOW great it was. Not just the level of talent assembled on that stage, but that so many who were considered past their prime could still execute those moves to such a superlative degree. This, & the "challenge" scene in "Tap" still leave me in awe.
A classic tap film is the 1989 film "Tap." Starred Gregory Hines, Suzzanne Douglas, Savion Glover. Included many famous hoofers like Sandman, Sammy Davis, Jr., Harold Nicholas, Jimmy Slyde, Bunny Briggs. This was pure delight. Best collection of the great tappers I have ever seen in a commercial film.
Seeing these guys got me into tap. Took me to first place in a National competition and then doing it as a job. Thank you to all these great artists for your contribution to music as well as dance
What a shame all these amazing dancers are gone now. Their like will never be seen again. Audiences are just not classy enough to appreciate their enormous talent, these days. The subtlety, the style, the grace 😍🤩💞
Lord I miss this kind of entertainment how often do you see tap dancing these days just like cabaret clubs it seems to have to have faded and look at the legends that Sammy who was also a legend is sharing the stage everyone one of them phenomenal
What a parade of Hoofers! It's a testament to the insane talent of Sammy Davis Jr that he was probably the second best dancer on stage. Number one would be Harold Nicholas of the legendary Nicholas brothers. He and his brother Fayard performed what was considered by many, including Fred Astaire, as the greatest dance scene in film history. Mikhail Baryshnikov called them without doubt the greatest dancers he'd ever seen. If you watch them perform youd know why. The impossible made simple. Sad that tap isnt quite the art form it used to be. These old farts make the young kids now look like straight up fools. What a group.
Do ya'll remember in The Five Heartbeats movie he told Dresser "Let me see you best combination!" Then he said " that ain't SH!+" lol ua-cam.com/video/zpWDTYfq0Wk/v-deo.html
I have a VHS of this. I'm pretty sure it's from the 80's and is a 20th anniversary of something or other. I have watched it a thousand times and could watch it a thousand more.
Sammy Davis Jr was an amazing talent!!! OMG : he could dance, sing, act, do impressions, play drums, piano… and whatever else he f--ing wanted to do. Imagine if he was a white man???🤔 He would have gone down in history like Elvis Presley.
I been so busy but tomorrow I will give the recipe I was so busy and QUEENS it ran sunday and minday, and tommorow it will rain till the the afternoon tuesday
Arnold Stollar not true he was an equal partner in the act. He was given a share of the money 💰 I don’t know how it worked with the movie pay though. But as he became famous he divided his money among the three of them until age 45. He took care of his family that’s what people do.
I'm not sure that our current society is sophisticated enough to truly appreciate the level of artistry being performed here.
I second that. I could watch these ARTISTES all day, go back and watch their movies from the 30d and 40s and die happy. There is NO TALENT like this anymore.
Today if you are not in panties than you are boring

Pure greatness up there! It was also cool to see the younger one up there. We need to bring more of this type of class and dignity back!
Emma Jones sadly the younger one Greg Burge passed away too....
History and Heritage together

Just sitting here smiling watching this. Does the soul good.
Very true. And very glad this is still up. It's so good to show the kids this talent, even if they just see it on UA-cam.

The guys got it going on but the lady showed her steps.
Cute as a button
Today Bey.. and Lady... and so are not even equivalent of these people's flatulence. Sad that the american society was not grateful enough for them...
♥︎♡♡
Your so right, Zion! Stupid as hell now! They all just sit around on video games!
His family forced him to do this free. ., without. Payment. .

And now sometimes talent is pure garbage...
