Yeah lmao, red is the christmas colour so they use strawberries and cream looks like snow. I guess strawberries are kind of always expensive in Japan as is all fruit so there isn't that same jump to strawberries in the summertime, that's my guess.

I used 17 cm pan instead of the 18 cm pan. Is that why it didn't rise properly? Hidamari-san, I think I have solved my issue. The most important thing i find is to heat up the egg-sugar mixture to more than 30C (I did 40C) because i was making the cake in the winter. Once I heated up the egg mixture, I whipped it on high speed until it reached the ribbon stage, and then the rest went smoothly. Thank you.
