I recently purchased a plexi modded Marshall jvm 205h and would like to upgrade the transformers and the tone you are getting here is basically the ideal tone I would like to get.

    what mods would you recommend for playing aggressive modern metal / death metal . I like the JVM tone , just looking to make it better (less noise feedback more balls) . Not after hard rock AC/DC type tone , love that but have some more extreme projects for the JVM . This demo sounds awesome.

    • @DSTaylor69
      @DSTaylor69  5 років тому

      Annihilation Maximization add a choke, helps with noise. Plexi mod made mine more aggressive and the negative feedback control that way you can tighten up the bottom end.

    • @DSTaylor69

    thats a raging tone. I bought a stock jvm because thats essentially what I'm after. I was also considering a jubilee reissue, ironically enough. How would you say you're jubileee compares to a modded jvm? On the other hand, a jvm is mostly preamp gain, so it sounds good on low vol, while a jubilee is "old school", where you need to crank the piss out of it to get your money's worth. That doest bode well if you're a bedroom warrior haha.

    • @DSTaylor69
      @DSTaylor69  9 років тому

      MrJohnnyDistortion Well the Plexi mod changed the mids to more high mids. So I had to pull back the treble and fine tune the mids. Also the negative feedback mod made this amp a lot louder. So what I was meaning was I had to rethink it from the the way I use to set it.

    No offence but I think the mods are a waste of hard earned money. My JVM 410H from 2008 sounds just like this and is factory original. The tone is in your fingers and I swear my head sounds exactly like the one you are playing through. Maybe in person it would be a little different...I dunno. But if you are watching this video and are thinking about modding your amp, save yourself some big time cash. The only way too sound like this is to learn how to play like this. True story!

      RoboRocker69 non taken I tell people if you like it out of the box don’t mod. My guitar player has a stock jvm. And he loves it. But in person there’s a huge difference. More plexi type mids. Very open. The negative feedback mod alone makes a big difference. Would I play a jvm right out if the box?Hell yeah. Best amp Marshall ever made. Channel 1 is more fender vox cleans. Channel very plexi Red channels more useable not over saturated. I say to each his own and yes tones in the hands of the beholder
