These tuts are great. I recommend Cubase to all of my students and one of the reasons are these awesome tutorials.
Superb. Thanks for all these video tutorials , they are so much better than a manual !!!
Errr why suddenly the groove agent change from instrument track into midi track at 5:53 (look at the icon)? And no explanation..
2:18 When I "enable racks" all I get is "MEDIA BAY" I do not see the VST instrument rack. I can't seem to access Groove Agent without it, what do I do?
+Graham Ferguson you have to switch the tab, it is divided into the MediaBay and the instruments rack.
+Steinberg Thanks for the reply. In the video I can see the MediaBay and VST Instrument tabs. In my software the rack is not divided, I simply get a window called MediaBay with no tabs. I don't know how to proceed.
+Steinberg Same here :/ only MediaBay is listed.
+Steinberg I have the same problem as well.
+Steinberg mine is the same way i have the media bay tab but no vst instrument tab
Does Cubase Artist support expression maps? I have it, but don't see the expression maps toggle button in the inspector.
ask please, why when im record midi, its became 5 chanel at editor? so if i delete one notes, its still 4 notes left?
What shoud i do if i dont have keybord? Can i play in Helion SE? I dont know how to do it :(
i have cubase le ai elements that came with an m-audio interface, do i need to upgrade to be able to see "VST Instruments"?
Hello, no, you just need to load a VST Instrument.
I can't seem to find Groove Agent. I have Cubase AI and I looked on the steinberg sight which says AI should have Groove Agent and Halion Sonic (Which I do have).
When I get the drum Kit loaded, and click on one of the pads, it doesn't make any noise. Neither do the patters, even if I put one on a track and hip play. I tried rerouting the midi inputs and outputs, but it didn't do anything. I know its probably obvious, but what do I do?
all I see is the beat agent. how do I load up the acoustic agent. thanks
Tim Morrison Hi Tim, just load one of the Acoustic Agent SE presets.
At 3:37 he says, "Click on any pattern pad to preview it." In truth, he should have said "Click and hold on any patten pad to preview it."
i can't record over a piano take with a second take, it either records overtop while keeping the last take and or it just deletes everything even though the setting in the transport panel is set to keep history.

Select the MIDI Modes in the transport panel.
Here you can also select: Stacked.
This will create a new lane in your MIDI track when you record again (Open 'show lanes' on the midi track). Hope this helps.

Forgot to tell us how to get out of midi editing and back to the project window at the end.
+Jeff Kingfisher Ahh... it opened in a new window, didn't catch that. Just close it, duh! :)
how do I crescendo an already recorded midi track in cubase 8? all i want to do is single out an instrument in key editor and add a crescendo. can anybody just give me a clean simple correct answer?it shouldn't be that hard should it? everywhere i look up people keep talking about "velocity" settings and all kinds of crap, but i still cant achieve a simple crescendo.
+EMVEED Hello, that is because the way to achieve that (while working with MIDI) is working with the velocity. 1. Open the key editor. 2. On the Lane view make sure that velocity is selected. 3. Select the note or MIDI event you want to create the crescendo. 4. Draw a line using the line tool.
The continuous background music drives me insane.
agreed. it keeps ducking in and out. dizzy..
LOL That stupid angry dummy at 1:38 it was so funny that I will probably make a YTP 'bout that one man XD
perdon restificar es de sabios , retiro lo escrito pues ha sido error de mi computadora, o que ha sido quejarme y arreglarlo. seguiremos . gracias y PERDON
look for sound. no sound
Erm.... how does it go from testing the piano to recording? You kinda skipped that step. After the pianist tested the sound... then bam, it's magically recording.
