The standard of driving in the UK is much higher than the US. It is much harder and more expensive to get a license.

We call them traffic lights and no, none have ever blown around in the wind as they are permanently fixed. 👌

I subscribe to Girl Gone London and she does deep dives into very niche subjects and makes them interesting.

That's why Roundabouts are better for Traffic flow .

She missed out 1 point. In the US, traffic lights are on the opposite side of the crossing, where in roughtly the rest of the world it is on the same side of the road you are driving on.

Because in most countries, a traffic light has to apply to the same regulations as other traffic signs. Being, it's only valid if it's directly to your right side, or above the lane you are driving on.

In the UK, we are taught to apply the handbrake when stopped or at traffic lights. It's a habit we get into... Unlike the US. And, although (after driving for sometime) you may just keep your foot on the brake pedal at lights; the Red/Amber (yellow) lights DO give you time to release the handbrake and get ready to go...

I'm old enough to remember seeing traffic police in many cities here in Portugal, including the small one where I live. 🙂

We have a lot of traffik lights in the UK, but we have a LOT more roundabouts (US traffic circles) because they work better than lights and keep the traffic moving smoothly. 😊

      A roundabout isn't a traffic circle.

@10:35 It's the way they do it over there. No need to fix anything until its proven to be a danger. Just like food additives.
"Stupid" is Americas middle name :P

Ummm... the red light never turns green, it just turns off.

99,9% of all people understands that red and green are two different lights, there was also a picture that showed three different lights (yellow/amber in the middle). Sometimes people makes a sentence shorter to save time or to not say things that are obvious.

In the UK they are also called traffic lights, post mounted is the name of one particular design. In South Africa they are called robots, colloquially.

I have tried several times to get onto your vlog channel but it always says not available. Maybe because I am in England and can't get onto it. Love your outdoor antics videos and seeing America etc but never mind as vlog seems to be a no go. Keep your videos coming and Take Care. 👍

I've never seen lightning hit a traffic light and kill someone in my 40 odd years of watching horror!. You're probably thinking of Final Destination 1, an electricity cable falls down in that one, doesn't kill anyone though!.

Liked it and subbed a while ago. At first I thought the one on the left (your right) was some weird Emo. Certainly no Culver City tan. But now I like her/your humour, deadpan as fuck. Keep it up, I think you have some Brit or Irish in at least one of you.

The original video was pretty boring, then you decided to do a reaction video to it?
    Really?
