If B4D isn’t blackboxed and its nodes are editable, i’d argue it’s a very credible threat when maxon’s licences are expensive for a 6-seat studio, and those smaller studios are a huge majority in the motion design industry. Especially during the silent recession we’re experiencing
10:27 that is absolute MUSIC to my Blenderhead-ears. You guys have no idea how cool it would be to get some Blender content from SOM. I learned 80-90% of anything useful I know about motion graphics from binging SOM videos. I don't have AE anymore since I changed jobs, but I use Blender a TON. This would be incredible. And I know there are bucketloads of folks in the Blender community who would hop onboard for this.

I can't wait to see what the creative team of SoM is gonna do with Blender and its geometry nodes! Happy to see that you gain interest in this software
I've never hit a C4D bug and had maxon fix it within my project timeline, but I have had small developers jump to my aid on several occasions. As some otbher comments mention its also not a closed box system you can go in and play with the node setup. I'd like it to be part of Blender but this is great for me at the moment.
I know that larger studios have gotten really white-glove service from Maxon in the past. Individuals and smaller shops may not get that level of support, though.
b4d is promising but i ended up having to bounce over to animax which is by far the best mograph tool for blender right now even tho it lacks array tools. Was trying to pipe the b4d arrays into animax but wasnt happening so ended up building my own arrays in geonodes. Also b4d can get noisey when u layer effectors, altho the new fields thing looks like it might tweak that (update - yeah way better now). The delay function sucked in previous version (and is awesome in animax). I found it unusable after a bit, while being inititally very impressed. This was with older version tho. Ill download the new one and update.
I want to sign up for the classes but can't decide which. I'm a Maya, AE and editing pro but want to refresh my skills. I can keep up with C4D too as I know Maya isn't taught in your classes.
Using AI is basically thowing the dice. The good news is that everybody gets luckier and luckier every month, sometimes every week. The bad news is that, "to get there", we need underneath a working intelligence aware of the world as we know it. Nobody knows how many years will be needed for that.
After seeing the backlash on Adobe terms of conditions issue, It feels more than ever the need to find real alternatives to these apps, specially for after effects, Its becoming very expensive to mantain these times.
@@joeykorenman Apologies for the laaaate reply. It was more of a comment on one man Dev Teams. But yes, for what it is it's amazing. For now it's much like Inkscape, you'll want to pair it with another tool (probably from Affinity) for a more robust PS alternative (and something useable with no internet). The dev also has an Illustrator... _inspired_ app in progress.
whoa thanks for mentioning that plugin for blender, its much cheaper than the cloner-like plugin i bought for 50 hahaha... shit But honestly, I really love C4D, especially after learning with EJ during the first course at SOM, but its really expensive and I cant really do the year license or month by month right now so I decided to not let those skills die by using blender. But the more I use blender, the more I want to go back to C4D. I will say that I am getting p comfy with Blender, especially after looking around for some good decent YT resources.
B4D absolutely amazing. and i was worried about the update to blender 4.2, but there was a new B4D update within a week! Cant give the guy enough props! @manellopgar3dstuff
I love that blender is getting love on this page

lots of news and good stuff
Honestly I would love to take your courses, I just wish they weren't expensive.
I've watched them all, you can pirate it too 😂
theyre worth the money, and even though you can pirate them, you won't get a credential that way.
@@thisninja11 Yeah and I'm sure it's worth it with the teachers looking over your work and giving you feedback as well.

Joey’s a Northlane fan?!
BIG TIME. Seeing them next week in Tampa. Pumped!!!

a comment for the algorithm gods. BTW did you know that baby kangaroos are called joeys? reminds me of Ben Marriott for some reason haha.

Blender Geometry Nodes is the game changer.
@@proceduralcoffee agreed
I really wanna learn Blender. I know C4D fairly well, but the Geometry Nodes look Xpresso on steroids... super cool
@@proceduralcoffee Nick Campbell was invited out to my work and he believes Blender is the future so what do I know.
@@joeykorenman I think Blender is going to topple C4D.
