6.5x47 does have a cold bore high shot and a very, very low clean bore shot (mine is 6MOA low). To stabilise properly I foul using at least 8 shots, and warm with 2-3 shots. If your velocity with 130gr ELD-M is above 2760ft/sec (26" barrel?) then try a cooler node and watch the group tighten up. Fast and flat nodes do not trump slower, tighter node. The Hornady APP will do the rest.
41g with Rem 7 1/2, 130g ELD-Match, seated .003 off the lands shoots groups the size of a pencil eraser in my 8T X caliber #5 contour, 27", with Gentry muzzle break. CCI 450's shoot inch groups or a little larger. I formed some brass out of Rem 22/250 brass, and shot 1/2" groups at 200 yards with that brass, cci 200 primers, Lapua brass disappeared for a while. The necks on the Rem brass is a tad shorter, and you have to keep the carbon out of the neck when you go back to the Lapua brass with it's longer necks. The 130g Hornady ELDM is a fantastic deer bullet.
that's some good groups, especially for as easy as it was to fond that load. I've seen a factory savage that wouldn't hit a 12"x18" target with the first shot out of a cold, clean bore. I have a 6br that takes 3 shots for it to calm down. I think it's interesting how barrels can be so different.
I found my savages always accurate rifles. The actions leave some to be desired however. Load work so far in the Lapua has been load up some rounds and shoot them. They have all shot well.
That's awesome to see you having great success with the first barrel you ever chambered! That has to feel 👌
Just wait until next week. Things get better and we settle on what I think is a nice load.

Good work and great video. Just got a rifle chambered in 6.5x47. At present I'm shooting 123gn Hornady ELD Match. Haven't tried anything else yet.
Funny - I have same thing on my 6.5x47 barrel. Never happened in my 6.5 creedmoor. Same projectile too.

Good stuff. Thank you
450s double/tipple my group size, it is not as simple as just adjusting your powder charge like some think! Good luck!
I have always had pretty good results with the 450. Never saw a reason to change. They are also fairly easy to get for availability
I shoot the same load with Rem 7 1/2 primer, much smaller group than cci 450 or Tula magnum.
Have a good stock of 450 primers so will probably continue with them. I've actually never used any of the Remington primers.
what countour is that and what brake are you using?
👍👍
