Dude this hits me right. I started running for the first time in the spring and I quit my job in this summer and have been living out of my prius, just trail running and boondocking throughout the west.
Thank God, I just ran into the most important insights I wish I had learned when i started running in club three years ago ! Maybe it's not too late to start over again after getting injured too frequently...
i feel fortunate to have stumbled across your channel despite their being much bigger channels. your videos are gems! ive ordered born to run and the cool impossible, and im looking forward to reading them. in the meantime, your info on youtube is extremely valuable to me. you rock man
5. Frequency/Consistency "less more often" 4. Form & technique 3. Don't go too hard at first; nose breathe while running and if you can't nose breathe, then walk until you can run again while nose breathing (keep it easy so you enjoy it) 2. Think of what competitive personally means to you 1. Mistake: Daily goals too big, long term goals too small... Solution: GO AFTER BIG GOALS to give you the patience and consistency for the daily grind!!
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. I keep injuring myself, and I think a large part of the reason why is because I’m not following this advice. Just wanna also let you know that I did my part and forwarded this on to a friend.
Wonderful advice! I was getting tired of just watching shoe reviews on UA-cam and now really discovering the depth of your channel with every video I watch from you. Amazing scenery which also inspires. In these COVID days I am not the most « connected » person and always run alone, but will spread the word in my running club when it reopens...
Just finished The Cool Impossible two weeks ago and have started the process for my Cool Impossible! These videos are a great reminder and reinforcement for the what I learned from you through the book. So glad you are doing these videos! You are one step closer to your Cool Impossible in my household.
Love the plan, love the video. I have just found you on youtube. I just ran my first 50 mile ultra and came away with 6 blood blistered toenails, caught a few ricks and roots. I cannot find a video on the subject to teach a new trail runner to stop the toenail carnage. Can you adress this with a vudeo or direct me to one. Thanks so much.
Welcome, glad you found the channel and congrats on your race. First off, minimizing blisters start with your downhill form. So check out this one of mine. I will address other things in a future video, thanks for the idea. ua-cam.com/video/pUq5H-ZJtAg/v-deo.html
I am from Florida and in July of last year about six months into my journey as a runner when I was starting to create some cardio fitness I didn’t take elevation into consideration because we don’t have that here in Florida and I thought I would takeoff up into the Tetons and on that same path you are on I about ran myself to death LOL. Talking about unintentionally not taking it easy LOL.
So excited to hear this...keeps reinforcing the mantra, easy, light, fast; but if only get easy, that's ok too. 4 bucket list life goals so far, for this 'new' runner (~1yr) ... Coming to run with you in Tetons is on there. Be well, I will be out there someday
Great videos Eric, always spoken with sincerity and intelligence... I’ll be your courier and spread the word! I’v had Afib for many years so HR monitor training doesn’t work well so if you ever get chance to speak about using alternatives for AeT/ endurance/easy run training I’d love to hear it sometime!! Thanks for the channel and the great coaching.

Your book did it man. Ty. Apryl my wife and I are running together now. Did my first 5k last Saturday. 😎👍🏻

Truly inspiring channel (I've got the 2 B2R books, and enjoy them so much).
@@Zacharie17 excellent, so great to hear. Keep running strong!
You’re a blessing. As I return to running by utilizing proper training this time around (rather than just half assing it) this video is so timely! 🙏🏽
Thank you for amazing advice! From the Bronx NYC

Thanks so much! “Fitness likes frequency.”Great tip!
Eric, you’ve gotten not 1 but 3 runners in my household 🎉
thanks for making my day!!
I should have watched this video before I started running two years ago!
Its never too late and the process is never over, as there is always a way to continue to improve.

Your videos are so inspiring for me. Thx for all the good content. Will tell my running pals about this.
Thank you Stephan. Keep running strong and demand the Impossible.
This is great Eric. Loved the scenery and the tips are useful for even more 'seasoned' runners. See ya up top!
If we make running and fitness more of a lifestyle and less about time and speed we will be healthier , fitter and will enjoy training much more
Sailing, not Rowing!
That place looks so dangerous for running ..one missed step and that's it
Quick feet and lots of practice in the mountains - nothing better. Thanks for watching.
